Thank you for posting this. I recently listened to a couple of series hosted by John Ankerberg, featuring Darrell Bock and Daniel B. Wallace called "The Battle to Discredit the Bible" and "The Battle to Dethrone Jesus." The first answered questions raised and assertions made by Bart Ehrman's Misquoting Jesus. The second addressed theories proposed by the Jesus Seminar and others regarding the historical Jesus. Dr. Bock knows his stuff. He also presents it in an understandable and enjoyable way.
having just read Wright's book on Justification and Simply Christian and Surprised by Hope, I can tell Prof Bock that NT Wright makes a huge deal about the work of the Spirit. I don't know how he can reach the conclusion that Wright doesn't make much of the Spirit. Tom Wright's stuff is thouroughly trinitarian in a way that much Protestant presentations are not. I don't know whether Bock hasn't read all of Wright's work here, but his assessment doesn't seem true from wat i've read
@faithlovelead--Many thanks for posting this! Bock's summary of the the new perspective on Paul/Jesus is excellent and necessary. Along with his dealing with Wright and Piper, he gives us all an excellent starting place to begin to work through this important material. Thanks again.
