I had the priviledge to see Tim Buckley at the Troubadour, to this day he still has, in my opinion the greatest vocal range I have ever heard, be it: folk, rock, whatever, and no I don't think son Jeff had a better voice, or range(from the lows to the highs) or song writing ability than dad. both, howerer; were marked with tragic deaths, so long live the buckleys and the great gift of music that they left us. i think we can all agree with that.
@ps34evah Actually...it's a rusty Pepsi bottle cap. I have the album in my closet....bought it when I was a kid. Dude was one of thew few originals in those days....this was his best album. Just my thinking...........
I first started listening to TIm Buckley in the early 70's. Saw him live at the Town and Country Lodge in Santa Cruz, Ca. Fell for him then and there. I am always moved when I hear him. I still love his voice.
One of te greastest songs about the trappings of addiction ever written. God I loved Tim so much. My parents introduced to him when I was about 7--right before he passed and I still listen to him all the time.

It's a strange world when something this fucking amazing gets just 50 thousand hits and so much dross is watched/listened to. Are we mad or is it just the rest of humanity ?
I used to listen to this song over & over again on his Goodbye and Hello LP on my parent's high-fi system. I was 14 & just loved Tim Buckley (and Donovan) both with curly brown hair). To me, this album showed the hugh talent he had. I played this song so much, I would pick up the needle on the phonograph and just couldn't stop listening to this song after school. I wanted to meet Tim more then anything. I used to sing this song in my room a lot. Of all his albums this was my favourite.
This album is truly the odd one out, because the first album was mostly contemporary folkish shit, and the latter stuff of his career were more avant-garde. In terms of how assessable the albums are, this one is the most assessable. While I couldn't care less about his Funk Rock shit, everything before Greetings from L.A. is great. This one is my favourite, and this song is my favourite of all his catalogue.
J'aime tellement cette chanson. Elle me rappelle des soirées d'ivresse printanières sur Bordeaux. Comme c'est vieux ! Merci à toi de l'avoir postée. C'est un peu ma jouvence, il ne manque que le champagne !

This guy's voice is beyond annoying and all his songs sound absolutely dated - like what someone might write if they were attempting to satarize 60's folk rock.
Jeff was light-years beyond his father as a singer and songwriter.
Ha ha. You can call Beethoven, Miles Davis, Lady Gaga, Beyonce etc dated. You can call all music on earth dated anytime and you would be right and true.
Jeff Buckley...infinite yawns... Sad thing to make a smurf a music hero.
@dancing0being Nick Drake doesn't sound dated, but timeless. Tyrannosaurus Rex doesn't sound dated, but timeless. 20 years from now, Jeff Buckley's music will not sound dated, but timeless. Tim, on the other hand, never exceeded the boundaries of his late 60's/early 70's folkie box. I really wanted to like TB, but his hokey, folkie voice and music simply will not allow it.
All artists sound dated in different situations and circumstances in life. Art is for living. Jeff is not bad but i wouldn't call him awesome like many people do. Just another good musician. Brainwashing is never good in any way.
@termsofusepolice Nothing is timeless, man. NOTHING. Even if something was, we certainly couldn't determine that now. Hell, it hasn't even been 100 years since the industry has existed, give it a rest with that "timeless" shit.
@termsofusepolice your annoying, your type of comments are dated and generic, no one cares what clever little criticisms you can make about music. you clearly have very little taste. Narrow minded little boy
I was also 15 when this came out, loved it, my friend Ken Tobin pointed out the line; "all the stony people walking 'round in Christian licorice clothes" as an amazing line...I was just starting to get high back then...this was a good time to start..
OH GOD THE CLIP IS BACK! Please, do not remove it again. I tried to get hold of this version on the internet after it was removed from here but I couldn't? Only a loooong and boring version on iTunes (at least the Swedish iTunes)
