how it works is, technically, EVERYONE owns copyright as soon as they make whatever it is up until 50 years after they die, you just have to be able to prove it.

that websites stores a"fingerprint" of when you made it and what it is, so if any court case comes up, just show them that.

btw..dont EVER try the "poor mans copyright" where you mail it to yourself. that can be faked easily, it never holds up in court.
