Wow, that sounds like a lot of assumptions being made. Most of which, isn't true. Try primary sources, they work a lot better. I've been a life long conservative who has ran for public office as a republican and would say that I vote republican, because the party aligns more with my beliefs than the democratic party. The democratic party gets a number of their party platforms from the communist manifesto, which I do not support.

You know in the studies I have seen there is not a lot of difference between the percentage of mothers that die from child birth vs abortion... so little so that I suspect... it statistically insignificant as to which is more dangerous. In both cases a lot of the problem often is that complications occur and the doctor has to make an assumption as to the cause and prescribe a medicine or procedure which later turns out to be a major accomplice to death.

BTW I am an old, before roe vs wade democrat, who is finding it harder and harder not to vote republican. I was in it for the civil rights and a lot or benefits democrats were providing back then. I have always been against abortion. If I were truly convinced that voting democrat would lower abortions I would do so... But, I have to consider the safety of both mother and child and find a reasonable compromise.

I don't think you even tried to follow the argument I made in this video. Think of it this way. It's simple market economics. Republican policies raise demand for abortion, and impossible to enforce supply restrictions because there are plenty of ways to induce abortions. (The Democrats can't make abortion "more available". They can only make it safer by letting it happen in hospitals and clinics.) Therefore, more Republican policies means more abortion.

I'm a pro-life Democrat, and believe the Democratic platorm in all but abortion fits perfectly with Catholic social teaching.

I argue that we won't get rid of abortion until we convince people that it is murder and murder is unacceptable, so in the meantime, we need politicians who will reduce the number of abortions which Democrats overwhelmingly do. Republicans increase the number of abortions with their immoral economic policies. By the fruits you see which party is correct.

Adoption = good, but probably irrelevant to my argument, except that adoption supply and demand would be negatively affected by a downward economy.

Abstinence should be taught along with other birth control methods, and be taught as the safest choice. What I disagree with is abstinence-ONLY education. If embryoes are alive, then abstinence-only education kills. At school, I want my kids learning facts, not the most popular government-approved "morals". I'll teach them my morals, not theirs.

I've often pointed out the many problems w/ abstinence education (or as I prefer to put it, enforced ignorance) - not the least among them increases in oral & anal sex among the targets of these programs. I'm not against these things except when ignorant kids think they're a safe alternative to vaginal sex.
