I went to School with the lead singer (Murray) and he never had a strong Scottish Acent then. I was suprised to hear how much he puts this accent on. We went to a Private Fee paying School in Aberdeen called Robert Gordons College and not many people there speak with a strong Scottish accent.

@u01aap5 'puts the accent on' is maybe not the best way to put it. Personally, I think he uses it to add to the emotion of the song... loads of singers use different accents to their communicative one when singing, and if it sounds good, then why not!
