  • Just like the other treatments, this technique might work to some and not to the others.

  • It works for me... :) I'm glad I had it done on me. I had one leg shorter than the other and they are now equal...

  • Mrflako

  • Was this shot in the Philippines?

  • i wanna be a doctor

  • cool

  • hey thomas, don`t you know you can delete those comments below? you could also block them later, so they won`t spam around in here. ;) tidy up, it`s springtime!

  • ALL DAY

  • Second there is the model from the spinal nervs. Dorn says that ech segment is provided with nervs in the same sgment e.g. the Arm.Nervs spring from the spinal cord at the height of the arms. But that model is complete nonsense. The nervs from the spinal cord allways are going to a segment below the area they spring from, in that example of the arms the nervs a spring from the neck. The whole dorn and breuss method is absolute crap.

  • Lots of ppl even had been hurt bei dorn "therapists". They partly work all over the Spinal column with full pressure, sometimes with wooden tools. Thank god that method is not been approved in germany and the health insurances are not paying for that crap. Remember, you don`t have to have any education to practise dorn method. Throw breuss together with dorn in the dustbin, that is the place that two "methods" belong to.

  • People R always trying to correct Y they deem asymmetric. Dieck&Weinstein did 30 yr studies which showed people considered asymmetrical had no greater incidence of pain throughout their lives than those in the general population; it's an assumption to think asymmetry is going to cause a problem&it's an assumption to assume any manual tech. can keep a jt in the place it was pushed as though gravity does not exist; intertester reliability constantly shown to be poor in studies between examiners.

  • isnt there any way one can self ajust the lower back pelvis hips?

  • Sure you can do that with the Dorn Method Self Therapy exercises and the Spynamics Sacro Aligner. If the condition is severe I suggest first a consultation with a Therapist followed by at least six to eight weeks of daily self therapy.

  • @oiyabastard

There is a rather good video (only in German, unfortunately) of several exercises you can do on a daily basis to stabilise and realign your joints. The therapist in this video demonstrates the movement and how to apply pressure on the joints while doing it (in German "Druck auf das Gelenk geben" or "drücken" = to press).

Search for "SusanneUnger" and "Dorn Methode"

  • Unfortunately the Dorn Method is only good in structural re-alignment and not in Brain re-alignment which would be very necessary in so many people as all the unprofessional comments to this video clip clearly show. Thanks for sharing, we are all teachers, some show us what we should do and some what we better not want to do or be...

  • @Thomashealer يابن الكلب

  • Great technique, I'm going to have to try it.

I wish you'd get rid of the idiot comments though. You can set it up so the comments have to be approved before they are live.

  • That looks like a fun job

  • you know it. this is a really fun job!

  • Se ho capito bene la tengo ferma per il bacino e poi muovo avanti e indietro il mio?

  • i was like woa! at first i thought it wz more than an adjustment at first lol

  • Will someone please tell me what the frick that is supposed to accomplish

  • This is a charlatanism Dorn Threapeuten none has know about the body and thus one can adjust no joint. If it rather goes to the physiotherapist or Osteopathen know what they do. What is shown here should be forbade.

  • Thank you for that really helpful and qualified comment. I will forward it to all the Osteopaths, Physios and Orthopaedical MDs that practice the Dorn Method will great success. Kindly let us know what you do in life so we can learn from you.

  • @Thomashealer I'd be willing to bet he's not an English teacher.

  • @Thomashealer

    Well approached and with class

  • I did a lot of physiotherapy for my back, and the most successfull was the Mézière méthode (do not know the english name) but it's just streching and also this kind of massage, and it worked. so no maybe charlatanism but working charlatanism.

  • @deronkell31 Whaa!? Physiotherapists and osteopaths adjust? Doctors of Chiropractic (DC) =600 hrs spinal adjustmet technique Physiotherapists= 0 hrs spinal adjustive technique Doctors of osteopathy (DO) = 60 hrs spinal adjusting techniques Chiropractic young man...chiropractic.....

  • @chiropractic47 Is this Dorn stuff related or part of chiropractic?

  • @poolboyinla Looks related to chiro. Never heard of the Dorn Method. In short; chiro is primarily involved with reconnecting brain and body. The Dorn method is plainly body.

  • Dorn Method is not chiro since only gentle natural forces and no manipulation is used to encourage self re-alignment of the body. This was I must say it is more in line with natural re-connecting than any manipulative therapy is because our system will only accept what is within natural accepted limits and manipulative adjustmenst are not but can have great therapeutic effect no question.

  • This method is extremely ridiculous. There are much better ways of releasing the sacrum from dysfunction, then doing something that kinda looks invasive. Just go to a chiropractor or osteopath to get it properly adjusted

  • this is not meant as instructional video here but as demo only. Furthermore there is no fixed set of reps or amount of pressure that fits every patient it is an individual case to case thing of course. As a guide I do around 15 sec treatment before re-assessing and repeating this several times. The pressure is on the iliac crest following the shape of the bone (basically to the front outwards). Most important it must not be painful! and in a good dynamic.

  • How many reps and how many sets?

And putting pressure right on the crest of one side of the sacrum?

  • its funny when he say "push , push, push" hahahaha yeahh bby!

  • maybe too close?

  • I had no intention to attack or hurt sorry if this happend. Of course we can agree to disagree and i appreciate any critical views since this is what makes us think and change and not the supportive energies. Our goal is to integrate and not to separate. Blessings

  • that looks awesome.

  • I love how people are so gullable. Lets pay money for a treatment with no medical backup, just theory.

  • its true, it has no medical backup... but i think i would go once cause it looks very relaxing

  • Um, do you know what "theory" is?

  • Um yes!

In common usage, the word theory is often used to signify a conjecture, an opinion, a speculation, or a hypothesis. In this usage, a theory is not necessarily based on facts; in other words, it is not required to be consistent with true descriptions of reality. True descriptions of reality are more reflectively understood as statements which would be true independently of what people think about them.

  • You judge by what you see? Did you ever had a treatment? Did you ever attend a training? Did you ever discuss this with any of the many professional doctors or orthopedical doctors who use and teach this method? We would be happy to enrich your poor mentality but I doubt that you trust gangsters like us right?

  • That's funny because the majority of your patients use your method because of what they see and what you tell them. You basically sell the treatment to them with your theory that this works and not with medical background studies.

Gangster might be the correct choice of word.

  • several thousand patients database with clinical tests surely do not count right? What is it that makes you upset about the Dorn Method?

  • The Dorn Method doesn't upset me as such. I had an opinion on the Dorn Method. You disagreed with me and referred to me as having a poor mentality. We don't all have to agree with each other on everything but I don't believe in making personal attacks such as yours.

We will have to agree to disagree on the Dorn Method. Have a good weekend.

  • nice video - looks to be a safe and effective technique

  • What an unprofessional comment. Why should this gentle method be avoided? Because one cannot make it in five minutes and charge a nice amount for it? Because it shows the patient self help / self therapy exercises so the do not depend on long term therapy? Do not fear the Dorn Method learn it apply it share it!

  • Some professional body workers tend to not accept the Dorn Method, I suppose because they imagine it is a substitute technique of their methodology. That in not true: the Dorn Method works good itself, but also as a complement treatment with any other body approach, being an additional instrument. The more, a kind of instrument that also the patient (receiver) can safely handle on himself. So... why criticize without having checked it out before?

  • Excellent technique, as a bowen technique therapist i'm a big fan of gentle techniques. I'm starting my Dorn Training in June. Every relatively new technique takes time to become accepted and established. The effectiveness is based on results, thats all a client really cares about. Many GPs and consultants are at a lost of dealing with long term back pain. So Dorn Method couldn't of come sooner.

  • With Chiro and osteo their clients often need weekly treatments and sometimes for a long period of time and then there maintenance (good for who's pocket) with bowen and Dorn method from what i have researched addresses the soft tissue supporting the spine allowing the body to realign itself. I feel that have complimentary exercises for the client to do is an excellent concept. Really does put the responsibility of the client health back in their own hands.

  • the only exercises i get clients to do is bowen specific exercisers for the shoulders. And simple qigong exercises. I look forward to training in Dorn Method, so that i can teach my clients exercises that really work. One of the worries we can of have as a therapist is the client going off and undoing all your work. Great for business but not ethical. I like the idea of a treatment that includes self help procedures.

  • There is no contra indication with any other therapy. However it is best to do the Dorn Method (Dorn Therapy) as base therapy before other approaches with the exception of adjustments like the manipulations in chiro and osteo which are often better done first..

  • for the pessimistics have you tried the DM? If not: silence please. I did. first session works wonders. (In the phil, Under Sensei Rico) however thomas, I have a question: I got dextroscolio and missed the therapy sometime now (about a year already)... Im 24 and if I get back on Dorn, is it ok if I do it with the KLAPPS Therapy? ... thanks.

  • Interesting methodology

  • Please ... one side couldn't be pushed deeper than the other. You merely pushed harder on one side than the other. An illusion. Nice trick, though.

  • Yeah another expert thanks for your comment...

This is a Demo Video not a proof for the effectivity for that I recommend that you contact any Dorn Therapist or any Patient we had directly...thank you

  • Demo or not, an illusion is still an illusion.

  • so is this bone adjustment? Or is it just muscular?

  • Hi,

It is both. The actions done during a dorn therapy have a multi level effect: The natural self-realignment is achieved while the blocking muscles are relaxed due to the perfect combination of dynamic (movement) during the therapy-pressure (counter-pressure)

  • intriguing...

  • hi , if your a dorn method practicitionar can u please answer my question , im a heavy young athlete im 18 years old i had a problem with my back since 16 i literally cant lift my right leg above the ground now .. its a bit better now after stretches and stuff i did , i have sided scatia and a slip disk in l4,L5 possibly caused by my severe flatfoot and my right leg is longer than my left by 3 cm so will this work ?

  • That are exactly the cases we are very successful with however a long distance diagnosis or treament is quite difficult..

I shurely recommend that you try the four basic dorn self help / self therapy exercises daily for at least two month and see for yourself..

We also developed a self therapy tool called Spynamics Sacro Aligner for these kind of problems..

    Wish you the best..

    Blessings

  • This therapist is not a Chiropractor and he is not analyzing and correcting a subluxation, therefore it is not an adjustment in any aspect. Only Chiropractors are capable of making adjustments as they are specifically trained to remove subluxations. This therapist is using treatment - something chiropractors do not apply.

  • Thank you for your comment however the therapist is a trained chirotherapist who is only trying to demonstrate how the Dorn Method is applied. Not only Chiropractors can do body work that statement is quite arrogant. There are plenty of chiropractors, osteopaths or Orthopedical Doctors that learned the Dorn Method and are using it successful as complement to the benefit of their patients.

If you feel hurt watching other people doing bodywork then do not watch....and do not make assumptions.

  • cool

  • Well hell, why don't we all invent a chiropractic technique.

    chirotalk.proboards3

  • Meh, everyone's commenting on the model or the fact that the chiropractor is touching the patient, people don't complain if a GP touches a patient's chest or a dermatologist touches a patient... anywhere, a chiropractor, specifically, this one is touching a patient's lower back in order to treat her, I suppose the alternative is pain killers, surgery or just putting up with it, don't make snide remarks at a person doing his job.

  • Why did you oil her lower back? If you wanted this to look professional then you should have had her dressed in a gown.

  • A gown would be likely more professional however even its not made professional it is not ´dirty´ and shows the Dorn Therapy without secrets.

It is better to use oil because it makes this specific assessment of the spine more acurate and helps in the finding of problem areas...

The procedure shown is real and not just show the model is not just model but also a therapist and one of my students as well as she is a back pain sufferer now without pain!

  • I observe an interesting combination of patient-activated and therapist-initiated joint mobilization that may result in pumping the Left S/I joint to reduce edema as well as reorganization of connective tissue fibers on the ipsilateral (same) side. However, the specific contact point was not identified and the result of using the PSIS versus a lateral sacral contact would, I think, be quite different. Caution is warranted.

  • You know, people would probably pay more attention to the technique if you had your patient properly gowned.

  • you are probably right however the model in the video was choosing her outfit herself some find it ok some not important is that she is not undressed (as it could be in some european regions as normal)and that the video openly shows that the therapy is gentle...and not violent cracking etc...

  • Sorry that was just the funny english sense of humour not a negative comment.. i thought the technique could be useful for the pregnant patient?

  • The Dorn Method applied correctly can and should be applied to pregnant women so the delivery process will be more comfortable because of the more relaxed system the pressure onto the baby will also be less...

  • Did Khristalmighty just say that sexual harrassment is that way you get things done?

  • Its called a thumb mate not a thump..although maybe thats what your doing to her?!

  • Thanks for correcting me but why can't you (and so many others) stay neutral (or positive) in your thoughts (and comments) Judging people or situation without knowing them? Do you know the book by seeing the cover? Negative thoughts produce negative people but we are all free in our decisions right....

  • so many people think that this is just sexual harrassment but thats how you get things done. plus they work on both men and women. you ignore sex and worry about their health

  • He's just touching her up...

  • the old style diagnosis: touching, looking, feeling, hearing and talking. The new style: x-ray, MRI, CT-scan and if one is lucky stetoscope and bloodpressure messuring....Up to you to choose....
