HUGE FAN of Jama followed him ever since his UK days - just something about him that you don't see in too many players. Very special! You will be missed Jamal!
Kids nowadays all they talk about is fucking Lebron, Durant, Kobe, Blake Griffin, Wade blah blah blah! They don't know in the 90's we had way better highlights with players like JR Rider, Drexler, Kevin Johnson, Gary Payton, Jamal Mashburn, Van Exel, Shawn Kemp, Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, Timm Hardaway, Webber, Jimmy Jackson, Latrell Sprewell, Barkley, Dominique Wilkins .....
and the list goes on and on.
Before you say Lebron is the greatest of all time blah blah do your research!
webber was quite a bit better then mashburn. a healthy webber made your team a title contender, mash was a decent wing but didnt make everyone around him better. injuries wrecked both those guys, its unfortunate
@bigevil50 yea seriously don't know why your crying over one word?! and no wonder why your so hard-headed and naive for real man obviously you see I'm not trying to spell the word correctly..........grow up man don't understand why your criticizing me over one minor thing
I don't think it was Jordan as much as it was poor strategy by the Heat. Mashburn should have been the go-to post player. The Bulls had no matchup for him.
Instead, it was Alonzo Mourning, who was ineffective from the floor and set records for turnovers.
Mourning's shotblocking gave the Heat an edge but using Mourning as the go-to player on offense was a poor call.
Mashburn was still at a talented level with Miami but his best days were behind him(he had a surgery by then no?) and he was a 2nd/3rd option at best. It may have been tough to ask him to be be number 1 that whole series.
the series itself is rather fuzzy to me. I was still rather young when it happened
Injuries killed his career! And, he was never on the right team. PLaying in Miami helped him, because his defense got better. Either way, incredible player, and ALWAYS underrated..and should have won rookie of the year over Webber. He had amazing skills, watch some of his old college games.
Nope it's not, but if you have two 50 point games in the NBA, I would say you have serious game. He averaged 20 ppg as a rookie, and played very well in all his seasons, despite injury problems.
This dude was a bad motherfucker. Too bad the Hornets got fucked on that buzzer beater in the playoffs.

@bigevil50
according to your profile, you're 15, so you dont know shit.
Mash entered the league before you were born and retired while you were still walkin in single file lines as school.
He averaged 19.1 for his entire career, with several of those years 20 ppg and up...some even like 24 ppg
He was a good player, so shut the hell up little boy.
