The laouto used here was constructed in 1985 by the renowned Turkish saz maker Ragip Akdeniz in Istanbul. It is my own design and it is indeed a cross between a Cretan laouto and a lavta

it's from crete and it's not a cemence but a Crete Lyra. It's pure Greek my friend

we call it 'armudi kemence'. because of his shape. you have kabak kemane, armudi kemence and blacksea kemence in Turkey.
armudi kemence's another name is Istanbul kemence.
but it played in kastamonu in mid-blacksea region also. not in minor asia:(
