damn im trying to find a demo of a Hofner HAS D1-N cause its only 98€ and looks amaizing, aint some cheap shit... or maybe some youtuber have this guitar ? anyone ?
@rrgert4 i have a hofner acoustic. i doubt it's the exact one you're looking at because it's fairly old, but it sounds pretty good. i'm guessing that's euros? can't go wrong.
There's single coil guitars like the Stratocaster and the Telecaster.
(This 60th Anniversary Tele is fantastic! I bought a black one with a maple neck.)
There's also humbucker guitars like the Gibson Les Paul.
Besides the different-sounding pickups, Fenders have a longer scale-length than Gibsons which greatly affects the tone as well.
Bolt-on necks are great if properly assembled and set-up and should not be considered inferior to "neck-through-body" guitars. Teles can do all musical styles!
@mongoose979 I saw a used Ash Tele that weighed like 4.5 pounds, guy wanted 800 or so for it. You can get one for far less than retail. Check out Squire's Classic Vibe series, or some of the other teles...you can get a good one for far far less than that. But you're right they don't seem like $1400 guitars.
@roadkillscjim Ehh...sounds like there's a lot of adjustments that you can make too it that make it worth a little bit more than a typical tele. There's more than just what a guitar sounds like that matters, it also matters how it feels. Some guitars are super comfortable and you can get set up just the way you want to. That's worth a bit extra in my mind.
Does all of the Standard american models (this year obviously) have the 60'th anniversary plaque for the bolt on neck plate? Fender made my American Standard in March and it has the anniversary plaque on it. Also I'm guessing that years from now the anniversary plaques with make the guitar worth a little more than if they didn't have the plaque?
@loudspeaker003 i mean the warped neck, i can fix. but the worn down frets from so much play. it just cant happen, i only had the guitar for a year and a half. i bought it used off of a guy for 350 and it was practicly brand new. no fret wear, nothin. then i played it so much the frets just flatted out on me, its so bad you almost cant even play it.
@gunraykilla yeah, thats what happened to me. i mean it took longer, but the neck was warped, frets were gone, the thing wouldnt even stay in tune. it sucks cuz that thing was like, THE guitar for me ya know?
@gunraykilla idk exactly what happened to mine, but I think it just had been through so much that it just ran out of steam finally. did get a tele as a replacement from my tech so it aint all bad.
grant it most gibosns these days are pretty shitty but saying the 335 and the les paul are the only useful things gibson has ever put out is a very idiotic and ingorant statement
@primusdude87 All fenders have at least a bit of twang, the telecaster was actually designed for jazz which typically doesn't call for a twangy sound, but teles, jaguars, and jazzmasters generally sound much fatter than strats, strats are like in the middle of the twangy spectrum, the really twangy ones are mustangs, duo-sonics, and Lead IIs.
@StainIessChina anything affiliated with Gibson will always be better that a Fender, as far as sound, sustain, aesthetic appeal, and versatility. just because jimi hendrix used one doesn't make it great. remember he switched to Gibson just before he died.
@MrYungsan No not quite... Jimi did not "switch" to playing Gibson guitars just before he died, he used them sporadically throughout his career. I'm not going to get into the guitar argument with you, because guitar choice is very personal, everyone is looking for something else in there instruments. To make a broad statement though majority of Gibson's & Fender's instruments they are producing today are crap, unless you would like to pay extra from custom shop and masterbuilt models and so on.
@MrYungsan Also the same can be said for Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, they changed from Gibson to Fender. Also you have the next generation of guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan that choose to play Fender.
@MrYungsan Ok that's complete garbage my SG Classic and Les Paul Studio are decent guitars but they are pieces of shit compared to my American Deluxe Strat, and my original 79 Lead II, Gibson makes some pretty low quality guitars actually, PRS, Gretsch, Fender, Rickenbacker, Guild, Framus, Hagstrom, and Carvin all make way better guitars than Gibson, Gibson hasn't come out with a decent guitar since the 90s it's sad but it's true.

@gnrmanmatt Sorry, misinterpretation there on my part. I can see your point, but check out the Modern Thinline and the Reclaimed Redwood Teles, they're pretty awesome.
