  • Song is so fucking sick

  • My friends and I took a trip in the summer around England, from driving around the countryside, to walking around London, with this album constantly playing. We took some acid and had a picnic in this deep green field, near Breedon on the Hill, the church in the distance. I remember thinking that I was in paradise, with the deep blue sky above me and the lush ground beneath, when my friend put the stereo down and pressed play. It really was perfect.

  • perfect tempo.

  • That poor crash cymbal must be so worn out.

  • holy fuck!!!

  • I'm not the only one who thinks he's having low key orgasms right?

    Uhhhh...uhhhh...uhhhh...uuhhh...uuhhhhh.

    Anyway it's a good song

  • This isn't "post" metal. This isn't metal in anyway. It's just distorted. I'm not saying it's bad.

  • @malcolmX213 I'd say it's drone, drone metal to be exact but i guess there is no exact way of classifying i

  • sound like christianity

  • I don't usually listen to metal but when i do it's Jesu

  • Exquisite Heaviness. Tranquilizing.

  • quite possibly my favorite song of all time.

  • Oh wow, I actually took my headphones, this is so beautiful. I felt for a moment that I'm not ready to listen to this. The song is doing something to me!

  • the perfect song to vanish

  • the perfect song to vanish

  • es una mierda no puede ponerle conqueror si el tema es asi de maricon!!! puto!!

  • @elchila93 Calm down Pancho; this is not Mexico. Es el mismo que hizo Godflesh, no es maricon.

  • Oh

    Oh

    Oh

    Oh

  • All I could do was sit completely still and stare at the album cover when I listened to the whole disc. I was and still am at a loss of words and have no emotions that portray what I feel about this music.

  • WTF IS THIS!? This hardly counts as music.

  • @RalphAndCaddy trololololo

  • @ken6346 Yep, I smell a troll.

  • @RalphAndCaddy you are the most stupidest fuck i have ever seen...u think this aint music..u r full of shit...u got serious problems PUNK....

  • LONDONERS LOVES JESU

  • C'est Bon

  • You know when you hear a band and automatically it clicks?

This is one of those bands

  • PROUD STRAIGHT EDGER BUT I LOVE THIS FUCKIN GROUP!!! I WANAN SEE THEM LIVE IN CONCERT!!!!!

  • @acceptableviolence no one cares about straight edge. straight ede just means you're a pussy who is too stupid to handle acid

  • @Grimm48 thats a fucking daft comment. straight edge = pussy who can't 'handle acid'? really?

  • @acceptableviolence

lol not sure what that has to do with anything but cool story bro

  • Broadrick is the good of experimental Electronic/Rock music. If you like Industrial with an Ambient twist, check out my channel.

  • I'm so high...

  • @KatzenjammerFuu cool brag

  • I hate every single one of you. Now, I feel very good about myself.

  • @thatguyyoudontfeel

    i love you

  • Jesu is inspiring to say the least. I feel his music is very optimistic and it coveys a feeling of connectedness to everything and everyone around us in a way that is truely profound, for me anyways. Jesu always puts me in a positive mindset and I just love it. Its like medicine for the soul!

  • @72twist smoke another one... haha jk i agree. i love it.

  • Inspiring music!

  • no person, place or experience has such an effect on me as this song. pure majesty

  • GODFLESH!!!!!!!!!

  • Wait, JUSTIN BROADRICK, formally of Napalm Death is the vocalist/guitar player for this band???? Explains why it's so AWESOME.

  • @19Labrie63 Yep. He's also connected to or plays under Pale Sketcher, Final, and a few other acts.

  • So dope....

  • awesome song, Jesu are truly masterful, heavy and yet dreamy with the gaze going on....

  • I love this song. It's like aural sex :D

  • Honestly, this is an awesome band but i prefer Isis, maybe it's cause I've listened to them earlier also Isis has a more "sludge" feeling to it. Listen to 20 minutes/ 40 years and tell me it's not amazing.

  • @omgaflyingmonkey

While I too love Isis and there is some definite friendship and colaboration between them and Jesu, their music is very different IMO. I do not see it as a fair comparison but you may have explored their similarities further than I have.

  • Isis is similar to jesu in how they are bother very heavy and very atmospheric, although jesu is more influenced by dream pop and shoegaze, and Isis is more influenced by, well, justin Broaderick.

  • This is my first time listening to Jesu, so I'm kind of the opposite of @shi0fuki. Listen to the album Oceanic. Masterpiece.

  • Having never heard Isis before - but adoring Jesu - i just checked the former out. Really don't get it or how folk could compare them to Jesu, unless I just happened upon the wrong songs on youtube. Any suggestions most appreciated :-)

  • Check out the song holy tears, or celestial. The album Wavering Radiant is also great. I see the musical similarities, but Isis is heavier.

  • Grand!

  • Beautifully Heavy. Dreamy, languid, mesmerizing. Trance inducing and relaxing. Also, no growling "Cookie Monster" or Banshee shrieking vocals. THANK YOU!

  • I sorta feel like there's only two types of music in the world: good and bad.

Jesu, to my tastes, usually falls under good.

  • People that play the genre game need to find other shit to do. Who cares what genre it is. Your endeavors to label everything almost completely meaningless: it does not change the music and it tends to make people argue. Good job, in the ned you have done nothing other than "speak" for the sake of being heard. Get a fucking hobby.

  • it's always interesting to encounter people who critique genrefication yet fail to see the hypocrisy in using language - ie. laughably abstract codified signifiers - to do so.

  • Gogo linguistic jargon. So smart! lol

  • The so-called "genre game" is not exactly meaningless. The reason we have genres in the first place is to classify music by its sonic characteristics and understand the music we create in a more intimate fashion. What IS meaningless is this parading of ignorance that convinces people this self righteous stance of being 'anti-genre' is what is better for music. I for one think that's bullshit. Also, even though you weren't talking to me. Music is my hobby and love.

  • "Self-righteous"? hahaha. Please explain how trying to classify music specifically at all helps anything other than satisfying a need to amass trivial information. By all means, send me a two-thousand word paper on it. I'd really like to see that opinion supported with examples and such. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one.

  • With that said; Vathek would still have the dark mysteriousness about it that is a defining trait of Gothic literature. How does knowing that it is Gothic change the book? All being aware of a genre does is conjure up a bunch of general notions about something. The creator meant what they meant. Background and context are far more useful than some broad term. With music that is an offshoot of metal, genres often just become convoluted and silly. Whatever makes you happy though.

  • great

  • Why are we not perfect conqueror

  • A Buffalo stampede on slow motion.

  • This and Floor are fucking awesome

  • baby making music right here

  • Discovering Post-Rock was one of the best things that happened to me in a few months.

    This music is fantastic.

  • If you like this, try Isis.

  • huh, why thumbs down? Isis is great and kicks every post-metal band in the ass

  • Lol, I didn't even notice somebody had given me two thumbs down.

I love Jesu, not dissing Jesu AT ALL, I was just recommending that if you like Jesu, you might also like Isis. They did, after all, invent "post-metal" or "metal-gaze", whatever you want to call it. It just seemed appropriate to mention them...

  • ya, isis rules

  • When it comes to art, opinions are just opinions and apparently some people think yours is a piece of shit. Better luck next time.

  • If you say Isis is not good=fail. A gouy was recommending it and I was agreeing with him.

If you prefer to call this band another genre differently than post-metal=fail.

you cant simply call a band "metal".

  • @Cr0ssDressiNate This is post nothing you idiot.

  • cmon, this is post metal, or drone doom with many experimental features so it is called posst metal

  • This song is just simply awesome. It should be featured in a movie or something.

  • It is! It's called "Bad Habit" and it's about a guy who gets a rush out of stangling random people. It's plays while he's laying down in his jail cell bed.

  • I discovered this artist only 15 minutes ago and I love this music already!!!!!

Sounds so like My Bloody Valentine

  • Jesu is amazing. simply put.

  • Jesu is one of the best things to happen to music in a long time.

  • Pure bliss and crushing at the same time. How?

  • Loser

  • NO U

  • really good music I never knew existed until recently

  • nice.

  • I wish every single jesu song was on one album so I could buy them all.

    simply amazing

  • very few songs can take me to a place mentally that is undescribably euphoric, this song being one of them!!

  • god fucking damn! <3

  • the lyrics truly amaze me.

  • Deep, hypnotizing, and dreamy.... This is a grandeur composition by Jesu and probably their definitive song in their entire catalog.

  • Vaginal canal...? Shallow muther fucker.

  • vaginal canal?

  • long live Justin Broadrick!

  • Something about the combination of that ascending riff and the high pitch keyboards touches me deep down inside. This is a gourgous song.
