This video is a candid view of family and mentoring. In particular, this is a view of this phenomenon as it occurs in Jazz. Jazz in particular is truly a taught and caught musical place. School will instruct on where people did this applied this, did that, etc, but Jazz's heart is passed from musician to audience to musician, and the improv tightrope they walk is a thing of grace. Thank you all, Dee Dee, Benny, Christian, and Hutch for sharing this side of your art and life.
Special jazzy greetings to Benny, Christian, and Gregory whom we saw back in October 2005, at another Ray Brown Tribute at Yoshi's in Oakland, which included Russell Malone on guitar and John Clayton on bass. ~ Kandie and Ashley Webster
