Like honestly, 7 or 8 years ago if your car had a body kit, decals, hrow on some clear altezza lights and some 18inch rims and you're killin' it. The tuner world is like anything else, there's fads. I give props to the dudes who still rock the body kits and decaks but have the engine to back it up. But aslong as your tuning your car to how you like it, thats all that matters.

Like rims, maybe headlights, window tinting. But bodykits.. ehh not good. The whole point of bodykits is for aerodynamics. Now a days the bodykits increase the wind drag, and they're topped off with the shopping cart wing. The wing is for downforce or RWD cars.. it was no effect on FWD cars (Hondas) besides making them heavier/slower

Rat rods are cool. Being an old fart makes me wanna build one. We used to rescue old cars from the wrecking yard like a 56 chevy and find a for door for fenders, trim and other goodies. Hit the local speed shop and get going from the ground up. I guess the Civic has become the thing these days. An Acura engine, chip, exhaust and a stereo that shakes the license plates off. Back in the day you could buy muscle cars dirt cheap, have fun with em and do whatever. Now it's Hondas and Toyotas, the occasional Nissan. It's just how it is now, it's what young kids can afford. I agree though, big brother will end up shutting it all down. Statistically, this is the least dangerous thing cops could be stopping. It pays the state better, though.

Even the 2008 Evo VIII which was the best import to get which was 40k is now affordable. 10k used on a honda back then would easily make 300+ hp putting that in luxury territory due to the hondas weight and size.
