lastly are these kids seriously wearing arm sleeves? you got to be fuckin kidding me this is so sad...what happens when these kids don't pan out they are going to be devastated, there are more things to life than basketball ESPECIALLY in 6th grade
this is disgusting noone knows how good players are going to be in 6th grade...hell Amare Stadaumare didn't even start playing till 8th Grade...Also some kids could mature really fast and then die off because they didnt grow or just peaked too early
The scary thing about it is that just think somewhere in the world there are still kids that are better and taller than him. This should be proof that it takes more than skill to be a pro athlete. May God bless this young man to have a well rounded life. He is truly a talent and very intelligent. He will be a future leader in whatever he wants to do. A big standing ovation to this young mans parents. They are doing an outstanding job.
Say what y'all want bout this kid. but the thing is he's a still a kid. He has tons of potential and a ton of talent already. None of y'all when y'all were in the 6th grade could do half of the things he can do. But the thing is if he doesn't grow he won't be able to play in the NBA. I hope he grows to be around 6' but thats all thats gonna limit this kid. He has a great work ethic and is extremely talented and wish him the best.
@DrAmaszing What are you talking about :S alot of NBA players were below 6 feet yes it harder to get in NBA but its not impossible if he keeps it up though he's prolly atleast gonna be a star in his high school gaming :)
Little Man Damon~I never liked basketball until I saw you gave me goose bumps, you are one bright star!.stay clean, stay outa trouble, stay in school, listen to your momma and pops and keep bouncing that ball!
@sunfilufagus way to critic an 11 year old "COACH". He's still learning/having fun and I believe he'll have someone teach him much more along the way.
@bigdaddylew dude I'm only a year older than this kid and he's way better than me. All im saying is the passes should be lower. That's what I was taught so maybe I wanted to pass on my knowledge douche
His ball handliing skills are way surpassed his age, although he has a push jump shot right now as he get older it will develop into the traditional jumper, I saw in the video and other videos he does have the capacity to be a very good passer, he does not appear to be selfish with the ball. Overall I see nothing but an upside to this young man, he is only 12 years old..where is the downside. if his height maxes out to at least 6' or 6' 1" than he is going to tough to deal with.
@deedleman99 no im not im just saying i see kids this age that have the same amount of skill or better than damon including me at that age he just lucky he got publicity.
Really talented and has a nice future, but needs to work more on teamwork then shooting 3's every chance he gets. He knows he can get those, but work more on getting the other teammates involved. That way, the team progresses and it doesn't become a one man show. He'll learn humility as he grows.
@wwfera00 The teamwork aspect is important, but you have to remember that this is a highlight video. I have never seen him play a full game, so I cannot accurately judge his team play, but because this is a highlight video, of course they will show when he makes 3s or great plays
Wow, this kid is a beast. He is hell on defense, just as much as offense. What I love the most is he just plays the game. No fist pumping, or other celebration, he just goes right down the court a play D. I've read that he performs very well in the class room which is just as important as on the court.
All I have 2 say is wow. I wish I were at least half that good when I was age/size I'm a decent shooter, but my ball-handling has no chances of matching his I'm 22 now but I don't envy him I respect his game
when he went to modesto christian, some of my friends that went there including a high schooler said that he's ok, that there r other people way better than him, he just got the publicity
i thnik the kid is good and he needs 2 keep it up but i dont think websites should be ranking kids at that age coz it can put a lot of pressure on them
He has great handles and skill. Seems like he has a great work ethic too. The only thing I think that may hold him back is his height. He is too short for his age. If he can get to 6 ft or more he might go all the way.
real talk this kid is the truth so often u see kids his age play and moves seem rehersed and sometime out of control, but with this kid no move is pointless every shift in speed and every crossover gets him closer to the rim
I was skeptical of the hype--remember Sebastian Telfair?--but after watching this video, it's obvious that he has phenomenal quickness and handle. I think what I really liked about him was that he moves his feet and stays in front of his man on defense. I think when he gets bigger, his release naturally is going to get higher and he's going to start releasing at the apex of his jump instead of falling forward. If you look at his wrist action and follow through, though, it's already near-perfect.
@n81bs The coach K that John Wall was talking about Damon's current coach at Christian Faith Center Academy, Kendrick Williams, not the Duke coach. I'm sure that Kentucky would have an edge at landing this kid because of his ties to Wall.
man kid, im impressed. 6th grade and playing high school varsity now. plus from the interviews ive seen you seem like a dope kid in general. all the best little gangster, go far my friend
Usually kids who shoot too much from the outside that early in their basketball careers have a tough time changing their form into a jump shot. The pushed set shot form that he is using right now won't cut it five or six years at the college level.
Should we really be ranking kids before puberty? His shooting stroke, stride length, and game will change dramatically after he gets taller and gaines weight. He's incredibly talented for a 6th grader, but let's say he somehow stays the same height and weight. He won't be the number one anything in basketball, the hype will end up hurting him. Wait until he gets older, I say.
does he play any defense? who cares that he dribbles the ball a lot, looks more like an And 1 promo where nobody plays any defense. theres more to basketball then being able to dribble and shoot a little
So this guy has 7 more years on varsity high school level. Thats too much, da system is wrong. Someday he wont get to improve and others will catch. At 16 they should let him go to college at 18 nba. But maybe he wont grow that much.
he is a very talented dribbler, but a kid his size and age should not be shooting those 3's yet. when you have to change your form so the ball can reeach the net , you know it's out of your range. unless he shoots a mid-range jumper like that nevermind. but i don't think he does. other than that he is a very amazing dribbler and has extremly good court vision.
@hcl4xoic Agreed. He's a great player. Just watched a video of Jordan Mcabe before this. Both are pretty darned good. Both have sweet dribbling skills. Both need to work on their shooting form. Keep up the great play Damon. Most importantly, keep up with your school/education. I'd like to know how much he practices.
