  • Poor 14 sec dead

  • what was the time?

  • The way the dodge is designed even though it has more power the srt weighs more than the lightning.

  • I got 6.5 o-60 decent, my buddies can do 0-60 under four secs! And a quarter mile in less than twelve!

  • Congrats on the first run. Now bolt some more boost on, get a tune and try again. WORLDS of CHANGE!!! lol

  • I make it 6.4 secs, nice man

  • i swear that truck did 100 in 2nd gear and 80 in first. anyways nice acceleration after tahat slipoff u were just breezing

  • @DK99824

It spun and upshifted into 2nd, and held 2nd til just before 80.

  • Thanks for clearing that up. I sort of figured it must have upshifted sometime because stock lightning 1st gear @ 80mph would be bullshit. But all in all thanks. P.S; Why do people do the @ and then the username?

  • I guess it was supposed to show direction at the person you're replying to, but who knows. No problem.

  • 80mph in 1st gear in the lightning would not be difficult

just have to port the heads, throw in some cams with more duration open up the intake and exhaust

and from there all you do is have to shift later than the stock 5000rpm (closer to 6500-7200rpm range, which is easily attainable)

  • @DK99824 its how u send a reply to some 1 ao u can vewi it in ur mail box

  • Nice truck man. Good run. I wish my truck would do that in a quarter mile.

  • Who is the friggin idiot that keeps putting the minus signs next to everyones comments that discuss the problems that this truck has had, must be a distant relative to old Henry Ford...lol

  • 26 times huh....? F-150 u said...? Yeah fords r bad...I guess.... my bro gottta 2001 svt and he has 189076 on the ode wit no problems. How da fuck do u wind up keeping something that breaks down after u buy it sounds dumb to keep it for 25 more visits when u coulda just given it back...but u drive a vette now...

  • No I couldn't give it back as Ford insisted that they could fix the problems and only made the offer to buy it back when the supercharger went, believe me I tried to get them to take it back sooner. As to the one vette that I have of the two, they are in my videos I have had no problems with either of them and the one vette will eat and consistently does anything that Ford makes....

  • dos the lightning come in a stick shift?

  • Hell no..........:)

  • @654321yhtaeD nope, gotta get a ram SRT-10 if ya want that.

  • @tksemipro Why would he want to buy that though, i think he wants a fast truck not a srt10.

  • @toxicstrike88 lol both are fast.

  • @tksemipro Yea but the lightning beats the srt10, ive seen a lot of races between the two trucks and the lightning wins, i just hate when everyone says the srt10 is the fastest truck just because it has 500hp

  • @toxicstrike88 Stock for stock the SRT-10 wins. But even just a pully change the lightning will win. Both are fast, but the lightning have alot more potential. It's cheap to mod. The SRT-10 on the other hand is not. But I do think the SRT-10 looks better.

  • @tksemipro Idk about that because my lightning is stock, and i raced a kid with a srt10 and beat him. I think the srt10 is ugly as hell though lol

  • @toxicstrike88 Was it a RC?

  • oh yeah! i luv da supercharger!

  • It spun and shifted WAY early into 2nd at around 20, and had to really work against itself. Those calling it slow....do your homework.

  • Well my digital timer showed a 14.9 sec. run until 100, I hope that was not your quarter mile time although the other vid on here of 0 -60 was 7.2 secs. about right for that truck. If you were running a C4 Vette you would have gotten killed if it was a 92-96 and you would have remembered that. I've owned both in the past a Syclone and a lightning and the Syclone was a much faster truck, partly to do with the AWD but also the 285hp was a real number unlike some of the hp fairy tales told by ford.

  • But the Ram SRT-10 tells no lies, Because it's just a "Stock", and I use that term lightly, motor. But it's such a heavy truck that lightnings can outrun it, Oh well.

  • The lightnings can only out run a SRT-10 Ram if they are not sitting in a dealership service bay waiting to be fixed all of the time like mine was. At least Ford had the balls to realize that they sold me a "Lemon" and bought the truck back from me with very little pressure appied by me. I think they did not want to put a new supercharger in my lightning at only 18,000 miles.

  • Well that sucks for you. Did you ASK them why they didn't want to put a new supercharger on it?

  • Yea, it was because over the past 18 months the truck was in service over 26 times and over $10,000 in warranty repairs had been done to it. Thank God it was not my daily driver, but that truck lived in service and on one occasion even broke down after its purchase on the way home from the dealer. Remember this truck had 23 miles on it when purchased.

  • 26 times in 18 months? Wow... I bet you were hotrodding that thing every time you drove it weren't you? haha, Either that or SVT did a bad job on your truck, Which isn't entirely out of the picture.

  • No ,the truck was totally stock other than cold air induction, I never got a chance to really hot rod it. The best was when I was driving it and had my ex wife next to me and her father next to her and none of us are like 300 pounds or anything. So we are driving and the whole right side of the cab collapsed and was grinding on the mufflers. Ford's fix was to put a couple of little metal shims in it. When they bought it back it went to Detroit for examination by Ford as to why it was trouble.

  • Wow, That is amazing! Did you ever find out why it collapsed?

  • somebody sounds like they are full of shit!!!!!!!!!!

  • idk but my stock 2000 lightning has 160k miles and it still seems like it will last.. no leaks or knocks and can still pull off a mid 6 sec 0-60 on 20's.. i love my L..

  • terrible launch!! i timed it almost 7 second 0-60. my L with a catback and cai is 5 sec. besides the slipping was it hot day??

  • Wasn't hot, just slippy...

The 0-60 would be just under 6 secs. Your watch must be slow :)

Truck is completely stock when this was run. First time on the quarter by the way;)

  • who are you goin against?

  • To be honest I can't remember. I had a good few runs that day. Might have been a C4 Corvette.

  • STOCK is how it is when it rolls onto the dealer lot. I guess My Gen 1 Lightning wouldn't be stock then, because it's an F-150 with an upgraded motor. It has a different motor, must be real "UN-stock" right? WRONG. Lightnings came factory with a supercahrger, this was a part in "stock" that was bolted onto the Lightning. Hence the word STOCK. I guess if you have a truck with a dealer ordered towing package it wouldn't be stock according to "southernbornbadass".

  • I love your SVT. What a great truck, but I am a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep man so kudos on a Ford from me should account for something.

  • Cheers Mate....Did you check her out on the other vid on the race track?

  • I didn't, but I will now :P

  • In Scotland its dood, like colour is color. Arse is ass. chips are fries etc.

But I guess a Lightning is still a Lightning and by the looks of it you aint got one?.....But maybe would like one?...;-)

  • stock lightning is kind of an oximoron.

  • Explain yourself?...."Bittersweet" is an oxymoron as is "Cruel to be kind" but a Lightning ???...

  • eventhough this is a stock lightning its a modded f150. its like saying stock STi when its heavily modified version of the base impreza.

  • Sorry d00d, kinda disagree with you there. If a vehicle comes off the production line it aint modded.

If you start to attach after market components to increase performance then its "modded"

A Lightning was an option on the F150 family that shared a lot of components.

    Not a modded F 150.

You could take it one step further and say an Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a modded Ford/Volvo as they share quite a lot of components!!

  • disagree all you want, i couldnt care less. i agree that a lightning is a stock lightning but a lightning is most certainly not a stock f150. an f150 does not have a blower on it but a lightning does. a lightning has a sport suspension an f150 doesnt. there is a reason it came from SVT.

  • ???? You couldn't care less???Why the post then?...You have just answered your first post. ie, it aint a modded F150. chill out dood its just a lump of metal that looks nice and goes quick. Its not just a blower thats different. A fair amount of the engine components are different. What are you driving yourself? I'll guess a Dodge?

  • if you read carefully enough you would have noticed i said a lightning is a stock LIGHTNING. and yes i know there are more than just a blower that makes a lightning a lightning that was just one example. and i dont really understand why you think you have enough information to guess what i drive but i do not drive a dodge. and by the way its dude not dood...

  • Yeah, they are pretty quick. Mine went 13.423 @ 100.00mph When I ran E.T. the truck had a half tank of fuel, tailgate up, spare tire under the bed and full interior. It was completely stock and was on street tires.

  • Thats one fast truck. I have a hard time keep up with Ford lightnings :)
