You have no understanding what this is for. Lighters run out of fuel, leak, and don't work well when wet. This will keep you fed, prevent dehydration and hypothermia. This with waterproof tinder is essential to stay alive in a survival situation.
asypien could not have said it any better. These are for camping hiking and survival situations. Not to light an every day candle. But thanks for taking the time to post your comment.
@caprone83 What are you going to do if it will take a month to hike your way out of an area? You may think ok use matches, Well what if they get wet of you loose them while in rapids or in some place. You may say use a lighter, Well what happens if the fuels runs out? So you think then use a magnifying glass, Well what happens if the sun is not showing. Then you think well then what about a magnesium bar. Ya well what if your shavings run out...
@caprone83- it's just a variation of fire starting method's. i myself can only see it having one good quality making it superior to a lighter and that is that it works when wet. a fire piston works with no fuel other than air and char cloth or your choice of tender. look those up you might find them interesting. it works off of compressed air that super heats your tender in a single firm smack. (if you're good at it)
UST make some cool stuff.

@KosukiFire
So your best option for size, weight, emergency's, one and 2 hand operation with little effort in hot cold wet dry or windy areas is the blast match.
