  • it was really helpfull

  • @TheHuracan1984 Thanks for the comment!

  • Thanks! I have a 85 dually and I could see the similarities and this video really helped me figure out how to take it off

  • @XPBPROX Thanks for the comment!

  • @edzgarage ok i have a question i have a 92 f350 7.3L dually diesel and it has rear drum brakes which i hate and i wanted to know how and if it would work to swap them out for disk brakes like yours would it be as simple as just replacing my drum with a disk and hooking the brake line to a caliper or would much more complicated work go into it if you happen to know or have and advice that would be great thanks

  • Thanks

  • @carraface Thanks for watching!

  • On the F250 the brake calipers and bracket are exactly the same. Two 19mm bolts hold the bracket to the axle and two 14mm bolts hold the caliper to the bracket. The Dually brake rotors are completely different though. On the F250 the rotor is only held in place by the caliper and the wheel, no need to remove the axle shafts or the entire hub (unless you're servicing bearings). At least your rotors don't weld themselves to the hub with rust :p

  • @mr3vil666 Thanks for the comment!

  • So what did you do about the hub seal? Spot on for the other stuff.

  • @CPUNeck Thanks for the comment! The inner seal was good so I just reused it. Still holding oil today.

  • if i buy a dana 60 axle with 4 wheels at rear am i able to to put just 2?

  • @abcmclovin I think you can, but the tire will be offset from the front.

  • cool

  • @hp11208 Thanks!

  • You sir have a new subscriber, excellent video I will check out your other ones right now. I am a big time Ford guy

  • @Chris07860 Thanks, I hope you find some of my vids interesting and or helpful.

  • I have to repair the same one on my truck and was wondering was there a clip inside the punkin that need to come off before you pull the axle.

  • @cavediver2 No, it just pulls right out. Thanks for the comment!

  • @cavediver2 i have a 1995 f-350 7.3l dually can i convert my drum brakes into disk brakes at rear !!!???

  • @dieselinside69 Anything is possible. If your serious, you should look for a rear axle from a late model to put in yours that has disk brakes.

  • @edzgarage mm thanks buddy i was comparing the frame of my old 1995 and is same to the 1999 2000 NS 2003 FRAMES SO I SEE IS VERY POSSIBLE AND THE AXLE IS SAME MAYBE CAN VARIate the gerar ratios but nothing hard ! and thanks !!! see my old pal at my channel dieselinsi69

  • just did this job on my boss's 02 the only thing they changed is that both calipers are on the rear side of the axle. I went alittle further than you, found one hub seal leaking so i replaced bearings and seals on both sides.

  • @rthom86 Thanks for the comment and the 02 info. I bet your boss was happy to have it all fixed.

  • lol, on the new caliper "Nothing Gold Can Stay" is what some ppl say

  • @stydel311 Yep, I'm sure it's rust colored now!

  • your supposed to use the parking brake...even if it is an automatic.

  • @Intelpentium54321 I have never used it. Thanks for the comment.

  • hi i saw your vidieo and was wondering if thef 350 axles were actually longer or heavier than the4 x4 F 250 deisel 8 lug srw or are the rotors set back further, reason being i want to put duallys on my 250 but dont know if i need to change the whole rear or just hub and brake configuration to the 350 dually set up. it seems that the fronts have a factory spacer that bolts on the hub am i mistaken? thanx Tom

  • @tj761981 I am not sure how different the axles are between the F250 and the F350 DRW, but I would think they are different. The front is completely different because when I bought front rotors they gave me the wrong ones once and they are completely different. There isn't a spacer, it's all one casting. Sorry I can't be much help here Tom. -Ed

  • I would always replace brake calipers in pairs, just my .02, so they apply evenly.

  • @GlennHa Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks for this video.

  • @christopher5361 Thanks! I hope it helped.

  • Best video ever! lol :) How has this truck been doing?

im not a ford guy, but we had a 2003 f350 4x4 for a while. I got to say... it was the smoothest most powerful truck we have gotten to drive with a load. It didnt even have to try with that old 53 chrysler impereal. So fancy inside. You can imagine my face when i found out what seat warmers were lol. Just too expensive of a truck though.

  • Thanks Tom! The truck has been a work horse. We use it to pull our 31' travel trailer. It has great power and gets pretty good mileage while pulling.

  • oh ok, nice job heavy work...

  • Thanks! Heavy truck, heavy parts!!!

  • are all the new ones like that when did they stop useing drums?

  • I think disk brakes became standard in 1999.

  • You need to grease the pins. I did not put grease any place else. It could get on the pads and affect the braking.

  • do you put grease where the pads slides?

  • Now she should stop like new!

love the DRW 350's, such beasts!

iv got one sent as my backround picture which is my favorite gen of the 350's

  • She sure does stop like new! Thanks for the comment.

  • man , i always fix my own 99 f - 150 . my brakes and rotors are so easy , i fell sorry for ya. but theres nothing like new rotors , truck feels new again when it stops good.

  • Yea, I forgot just how nice all new brakes felt on this truck. Thanks for the comment!
