  • Nice lookin gate! can you show us an update? I wonder how it has held up in 2 years????

  • Just another hillbilly way of doing things..

  • Good job!

  • Why the 2 x 4 scraps at the hinges? What kind of frame do you call the one you built?

  • wtf??

  • looks ok

  • Looks OK at best. Using pressure treated lumber was a mistake. When it dries out it will warp, bend and split. Western red cedar is the only lumber that should go on a fence. And three rails is simply the only way to go.

  • good job man keep up the good work

  • I used 2x4s for the rails, not the prefab smaller lumber, therefore there is no need for 3 rails...this is extremely strong, especially with the use of scews for fasteners instead of nails.

  • Nice Fence. My dad owns a fence company here in ND and they never 3 rail. Where did you get your material? Ive helped my dad put up many fences and NEVER EVER get your fence material from anyone other than a fence company or supplier. I'm seeing so many fences made from that Menard's garbage. Never go to Menard's for fencing needs. Like you, said 2 braces hold up just fine.

  • looks nice but you should have used three rails instead of just two, it will hold up better in hi winds, nice gate though
