dude my computer has 2 nvidia cards, my laptop has 2, and the only ati stuff i have is years old. that's because last gen and the one before, nvidia won. two gens ago and this gen ati won. i personally am an intel fanboy, but i do not hate amd processors. I have used Vista since it came out, actually I have used it before it came out as a beta tester, and stopped using when I tested the Win 7 beta.
It had had its ups and downs, with a fair share of errors, mostly due to bad drivers and software that was just ancient. All in all I can say it was not as bad as most people believe it is, I actually enjoyed the new features and put them to work.

Well vista is a little buggy, but i liked it. I have seven now, and it runs much faster. I have ATI and they have no problems like nVidia does. Plus Dell's suck and are over priced. My friend got a dell laptop for $789. I have a Gateway which i paid $550. Got around the same time he did, and mine is much faster and doesn't freeze up, and skip when playing or importing CD's.

Microsoft knew that there are so many stupid people around not caring about that, that Vista still had a bad image, so that's why they made Windows 7. (Not to suck money...)
Well, I just put Vista Ultimate x64 on here. I have an AMD AM2 Nforce6M-A Mobo with 3 GB DDR2 RAM and a Geforce 9500 GT OC'd. And my games constantly stutter now. I used to use XP Pro x64 but had problems with the OS deleting itself... no joke. But now it seems my games went from running ok, to running good, but the sound and video stutter every few seconds. it's like I get speed up and slow downs constantly. Anyone else know of this problem?

I was able to install a haxed OS X version on my PC, with the generic drivers from the disk (butchered of course) and it worked first time. Humorously, it benchmarked much much faster than the top of the range iMac. Haha, 1 up for PC's huh? :P But in all serious, you're actual concerns somewhat parallel those of Windows... @rspshelper123 No they don't. I have seen lots of videos of Macs gaming, they run games great. The only problem is the lack of games available for Mac OS. But other than that the hardware is fine. I don't see why i7's and 5000 series video cards "suck" at games....
I'm not really sure if I get an advantage with 64-bit because I haven't really tried 32bit. However, most of my games are installed in the x86 program files. I have to use 64bit because 32bit only supports like 3GB of RAM, I have 4GB of DDR2 and 1GB of GDDR5. My hardware would be useless without 64bit.

i have experience with PC for 10+ years. i switched to mac recently.
pc cant do more except gaming and they are obvious choice for kids. they also support MS office better, as it i cant e.g. get Access for Mac.
On the other hand, PCs are less stable, more memory consuming, as well as computer power consuming. OS X is so much better and does not cause any problems (e.g. networking in Windows).
I will not go in depth where they are better, but btw if you would like about functions -- what about your PC doing expose / virtual desktops. there are plenty of things, check videos on youtube. NO ONE says that PC does more.
now, to show how little you know -- macs actually have WEAKER graphics cards than PC. they are more expensive due to OS X, quality, support etc. you find hardware on Mac not to be highest, but due to architecture and OS, they are faster than PCs in e.g. PS.
and what about if i tell you i am sitting on a mac, with XP on VM? still i can do less? with mac i have flexibility of OS (e.g. Win7 on boot camp). so there is NO WAY that i can do less.
and now imagine this-people not only use computers for GAMING, kid. I actually do work on it. I need the faster PS, Aperture, as well as only available for Mac-SDK from Apple for iPhone. Without Mac from those items listed I would be able to stick to slow working PS..

if u get the BSOD, its either a program or a .dll or hardware conflict that caused it. hardware which have not been installed properly may use the same ports and so windows crash. its like a highway but with only 1 lane going the opposite directions... they will crash
also instaslling beta drivers such as your graphics drivers may cause the crash as well.

I was able to install a haxed OS X version on my PC, with the generic drivers from the disk (butchered of course) and it worked first time. Humorously, it benchmarked much much faster than the top of the range iMac. Haha, 1 up for PC's huh? :P But in all serious, you're actual concerns somewhat parallel those of Windows... Lack of drivers, no support for updates all that rubbish :P

@rspshelper123 No they don't. I have seen lots of videos of Macs gaming, they run games great. The only problem is the lack of games available for Mac OS. But other than that the hardware is fine. I don't see why i7's and 5000 series video cards "suck" at games....

He didn't say a 7600GT. He said 7900GTX cards, SLI. I have to say, those 7900GTXs are as fast as they get for back in the day.
I must say though, I have Vista 32-bit and 9800GTXs in SLI and I've never had that happen.

I'm not really sure if I get an advantage with 64-bit because I haven't really tried 32bit. However, most of my games are installed in the x86 program files. I have to use 64bit because 32bit only supports like 3GB of RAM, I have 4GB of DDR2 and 1GB of GDDR5. My hardware would be useless without 64bit.

overall pcs>macs becuase they have more feutures and can do more things than a mac, such as gaming. and not to mention that it has a lot of programs only compatable for windows. if you're not gaming or hosting a server, a decent comp thats $500 will be enough, if u kno how to build 1. and i tell ya, itll be way cheaper with way better hardware, feutures, and u can do the same thing you can do with macs + more.

i have experience with PC for 10+ years. i switched to mac recently.
pc cant do more except gaming and they are obvious choice for kids. they also support MS office better, as it i cant e.g. get Access for Mac.
On the other hand, PCs are less stable, more memory consuming, as well as computer power consuming. OS X is so much better and does not cause any problems (e.g. networking in Windows).

I will not go in depth where they are better, but btw if you would like about functions -- what about your PC doing expose / virtual desktops. there are plenty of things, check videos on youtube. NO ONE says that PC does more.
now, to show how little you know -- macs actually have WEAKER graphics cards than PC. they are more expensive due to OS X, quality, support etc. you find hardware on Mac not to be highest, but due to architecture and OS, they are faster than PCs in e.g. PS.

and what about if i tell you i am sitting on a mac, with XP on VM? still i can do less? with mac i have flexibility of OS (e.g. Win7 on boot camp). so there is NO WAY that i can do less.
and now imagine this-people not only use computers for GAMING, kid. I actually do work on it. I need the faster PS, Aperture, as well as only available for Mac-SDK from Apple for iPhone. Without Mac from those items listed I would be able to stick to slow working PS..

wow, thats a stupid statement. i should go for a pc cause it works good when you put a lot of ram. dude, maybe thats the meter how good the OS is... its not memory consuming -- OS X runs on 1 GB, and Vista does not. so why should I buy more if its enough, or even if i have more, now more ram in OS X is available for the application.

and what the hell are you talking about being secure? i was never attacked by a hacker, and if someone wanted to do so, he would be able (having enough skill) to do on both OS (even though it would be faster on Mac OS X). but thats situation that is as probable, as that i will win a lottery.
the only important security issue is that computer users are vulnerable to the virus (trojans, etc) attacks. and thats windows in 99%

and u should wait for windows 7 to come out b4 u switch to a mac forever... bugs are fixed, graphics are better, more feutures and customizations, directx 11, and tons more.

if u get the BSOD, its either a program or a .dll or hardware conflict that caused it. hardware which have not been installed properly may use the same ports and so windows crash. its like a highway but with only 1 lane going the opposite directions... they will crash
also instaslling beta drivers such as your graphics drivers may cause the crash as well.

1. i dont care why it crashes. i need to use comp for my work and not to do maintenance of it. pc crashes, mac dont. simple as that.
2. i do have win 7 on boot camp on my mac and i hate it. it already failed few times; i couldnt make a network; couldnt instal some programs; there is still same crap as in vista (e.g. popups asking if u want to do it-yes i DO!); slower PS than under OS X.
3. u wont convince me, cause i have both. i go for mac. u can stay with windows. i do not care.

u crash with windows cuz ur either installing viruses or some backdoor trojans... if ur not messing around with windows, crashes shouldnt happen. ive been using windows my whole life. and nvr had it crashed once.
and the security thing. windows is much mro secure. this hole in macs is so big, that i cant even explain what it can do... basically its way harder to hack into a pc.
