I remember the bitter anger when you were playing and, being trigger happy, shot a permanant potion. Shooting normal potions was one thing, but hitting "Extra shot power" like I did once was an absolute sin.

Gosh this brings back memories. Wow. I always wished that Gauntlets I&II had been programmed to have a final goal. Both games were really just endless levels with no end. Some in my peer group would post high scores but when the arcade we played at shut down for the night they killed power and scores always reset. So alas, there really was no point.

I still miss the classic guantlet.

I played this on a playstation 1 sample game a long time ago. I've been trying to find it for a while now... It looked exactly like this. The Nintendo NES version looks like shit. Anyone got any ideas on how to find it??

gauntlet is on a game for the xbox(original) called midway arcade treasures(also for ps2 and gamecube)

and gauntlet 2 is on midway arcade treasures 2(original xbox,ps2 and gamecube)

download a MAME emulator. and then download a mame gauntlet rom. its illigal but you can play it hit that. also thee are so many versions of the rom that dont work.. so its pretty hard to find a workign gauntlet mame rom.(mame are arcade emulators)

Hey guys, if you want to get gauntlet (only da ist one) along with other classics like mortal kombat games and Rampage , go to gamestop or try to find it yourself its called midway arcade games rated M for mature for blood and gore or sumthin. I reccomend gettin it for psp its cool playing arcade games on the go!

when i was 15, i worked at a small pizza place (under the table) and when the place closed, the owners and managers would literally take every quarter out of the register and lay them on the game and play for hours. it was fun watching they let us younger punks eat free pizza and watch. it was awesome. He stopped doing this though the day the Angels/Donnie Moore blew that game to go to the World Series. seriously. he must have had big bucks riding on that game.

I was about 9 yrs old when this game came out in the arcades, and i was just watch with awe as all the big kids would play it. And then when Gauntlet 2 came out there was a big contest for whoever found the 100th level. I dont know who won but it must have cost them a lot of quarters!
