  • Love it!

  • this man is the reason i just dont even try out for this competition

  • @youngdrummer3 - You should never not tryout because you feel you can't compete.....Jerome lost at the store level several times before the got this opportunity.....He just made the best of it when it counted to the most....C'mon...get in it and kick ass....

  • @TheBeatSmith i appreciate the kind words, but unfortunately some of these players have been playing for 20 years.. a kid playing for 7 has no business in there lol

  • @youngdrummer3 - Sorry you feel that way, but to be honest, I understand, it can be intimidating but the only way to beat fear is to face it head on. So what, some guy or girl has better chops. they didnt start that way. I'm sure some cat playing for 2 years would fear your playing skills.....So all you need is a good solid solo and wait for those cats you fear to have a bad day at the drum off.....and you slip right past them to the store finals.....In 3 years you will be at the finals.

  • @TheBeatSmith lol real talk. thanks a bunch man

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn this guy is fresh!

  • 3:45 Feeling this?

  • is dat his name if so fucking kool name

  • jesus peanut butter cups

  • Wow, amazing skills. Please tell me has is in a band, so his awesome skill has a chance to be heard.

  • @SamuelR007 Dude you just heard it.

  • i am not meaning to offend any joey jordison fan, i myself am i joey fan. but... this dude owns joey by a long shot. joey is mainly known for double bass and this dude is just is good, if not better at double bass, and... everything else.

  • Joey Jordison is beast at drumming, the Rev was definitely one of the best, Neil Peart is a legend, but one thing they all hav in common.......they're well known. for drummers who are not well known, this guy is amongst the greats, simply cuz i had to hear it 3 times just to be sure i wasnt imagining the greatness

  • awesome drumming. i want that shirt lol

  • that's my brother ya'll.............im tripping i don't know that dude

  • That's my Godbrother!!! He the bestt!

  • I love the shirt. Beautiful playing, too.

  • Two people couldn't understand the rhythm of their heartbeat if they tried.

  • hella beast now thats a good drummer im entering when im 16

  • Great versatility, musical phrasing (listen to how he places his triplets, lovely), dynamic solo construction, showmanship (call/response, stick tricks), and really solid technique and groove. Yet I'm kinda put off by the hipster image and the crowd for some reason. Don't let that stop you though, this guy's gooooood.....

  • Oh fuck...

  • HAT TRICK...that won it.

  • @NouveauNick hahah. good humor.

  • i'm thinking about buying Jerome Flood.

  • best ad for Jesus ever.

  • This guy is a great player but the only thing that bothers me about these "Drum Off" things is that everybody plays rehearsed solos. What ever happened to some good old fashioned improvisation.

  • @xXxIFORSAKENxXx they are freestyle...well the championships are anyways

  • @xXxIFORSAKENxXx that was a cross between practiced rhythms and improvisations, if that was 100% rehearsed the dude has serious OCD. it was too spontaneous but yet elegant.

  • CLAPS FOR THE WINNER!!

  • I bet one of the reasons that he won was because of the shirt that he was wearing.

  • DAYYYYMMMNNNNNNN

  • holyyyyyyyyyyy heck. that wa tiiiiight. and the hat trick was a nice touch!

  • sweetness.

  • woww sik

  • wow

  • erybody has skill n dey display nd express it dere way. jerome stay up homie. i rlly admire ur wrk

  • i bow down to Jermome's epicness

  • Reminds me of a Max Roach solo on hi-hat...

  • He's insanely awesome!!! I wish I was nearly that sick.

  • I like his shirt, where do I get it?

  • when i see/hear someone this good i just laugh hysterically.AWESOME!!

  • mad chops,musicality, and jesus

    HE HAS IT ALL!

  • OHHHH YEAHH!!!! this guys in my top 5 fav drummers lol

  • @rcaudill1960 barely

  • @muzical26 your right is some points but you must realize some of the greatest musicians are in the streets because this world is now dominated by pop music, search up Amazing Bass Player here on youtube click the one with over 5 million view so you can see the real Jesus

  • That's lovely, now fuck off and tell someone who cares.

  • ok to that guy who mentioned joey jordison, all he does is smash the freaking kit and twiddle his toes really effin fast.

  • from church drummer to church drummer skip the haters Doc! You got skills and deserved to win. i been watching your clips for some time and im impressed everytime!

  • Awesome solo

  • two words...

    Matt Greiner!

he's the only drummer ive heard that can incorporate rudiments into the hardcore/metalcore scene.

  • I totally have that shirt! havent rocked it for a while...maybe its time to dust it off? This guy is incredible...

  • totally?

  • if he's sick, maybe he should see a doctor.

  • joey jordison is just another metal drummer dude. straigth-forward fast playing. probably cant comprehend this guys playing

  • @kdubwalter

Guess you don't know much about him then, he's very talented (check out his other works).

    tard

  • @kdubwalter this guys playing is completly a differant style man, read halentines comment above, pretty much explains all i hve to say.

  • amazing how he can throw down such insanity on a 4-peice

  • this guy is like the joey jrodison except its the other way arond. we get it your fast now join a band and see how much of that you can get away with

  • You are an idiot. This is a drum off where you show off skills and styles, completely different to a band. Also i am sure he is competent enough to play in a band.

  • lol its just a gift from God! its not just they're lucky haha

  • a gift from satan

  • im telling you, the drummers that are religious always get lucky. haha

  • it's the shirt!!

  • Awesome man. Tricks, cool stuff, showoff stuff and grooving combined. I like it, a lot!

  • hes really from rochester, ny

  • this guys a bad ass!

  • dude i actually like your videos way more than the official guitar center videos. thanks! i hope you're gonna get this years videos as well!

  • ALABAMA

  • nice

  • I agree. Flood is a very awesome drummer but it could get boring to someone who doesn't drumming. Being groovy and giving up a few of the techniques would make it more "musical". Mike Portnoy even stated that.

  • Wrong. His solo is one that a non drummer would enjoy, with all of his tricks.

  • straight up I enjoyed it I'm a non drummer. found this vid by accident and was very impressed.

  • Oh, I absolutely acknowledge that he's good. I thought I made that VERY clear. The man has got skill pouring out of him like sweat. This is patently obvious. I could practice every waking moment for the rest of my life, and he could still wipe the floor with me on an OFF day. Mad respect.

My only point is that I just wish he'd use his talents for something a little more useful. Proving that you can play fast and play technically is bloody boring, and sounds like a mess. Not so very musical.

  • I get irritated when people assume fast = "good." The man obviously has incredible skill and impressive, world-class technique, but there's very little musicality in what he's doing. When someone just plays loud and fast and chaotic without any structure, it's just boring. It means they're using their talent in service of what amounts to masturbation. I can't touch him on my BEST day, but what's the point of any of it?

And as long as I'm on the subject, his cymbals sound like effing hubcaps.

  • I was a judge at one of the competitions and I have to tell you this dude is GOOD!

(you don't get to use your own cymbals at any of the comps.) OK?

  • Dude, theres a difference between playing fast single strokes in metal music, and fast fills with switching between strokes and accents. this dude is fast for all the right reasons. how can you even say he is chaotic without any structure. even though he plays fast he plays perfectly in time. you cant count it out in 4/4 time and he stays on time the entire time. its a lot more useful than you think. do your homework next time.

  • furthermore, he transitions from the snare and toms to the bass drum. his fast fills that he plays are actually very similar to tony roysters. so your basically saying the same for tony royster

  • I think the sound is probably due to the camera(phone?) used by the person recording it. The production is just bad. I can't even here the bass drum that much if at all. I'm sure it sound a lot better live.

  • Straight killed it

  • Brilliant Playing.

  • another double bass masher :/ anyone that can mash double bass can sound decent

  • No, He's using a single. Follow the rythmn, he's doing doubles. Also, the closed hi-hat fills, where crosses over for ex. you have to have your foot on the pedal.

  • OH LOOK AT ME I KNOW EVERYTHING AND I SHOULD TELL THE WHOLE WORLD OF MY KNOWLEDGE CAUSE IM SO IMPORTANT lol fag

  • though I KNOW he's using a single, I can heel toe/double bass closed hats. Lot's of players can.

  • most gospel playing is doubles over singles...really fucking fast

  • Eddie Van Halen isn't Yngwie, and vice versa, Dave Roth isn't Sammy and vice versa, etc. etc. This guy is obviously talented and so is Jordison and the rest. If one guy isn't another as far as musical expression why does he have to "suck" or be considered "no good". After all I know plenty of great drummers who can't double bass like Jordison, doesn't make them bad or good, just different.

  • Very good point Halentime...That's why there will only be ONE Neil Peart. -Peace

  • @Halentime well said!

  • @Halentime Look up George Kolias for double bass. He gets the double bass sound with one foot.

  • i can't understand why people like drummers like portnoy and joey jordison

  • i love how drummers think dbl bass is everything and think theyre so amzing when they do a simple RLRLKK pattern down the toms or around the kit using a dbl bass pedal.

too many drummers abues the 2nd pedal thus they become overated like jordison

  • a agree to an extent, i think overusing the second pedal like thomas haake from meshuggah is what makes him so interesting, the polyrhythms and stuff that he can achieve, but i totally get what you mean when you get a drummer that just rolls the double kick with total disregard to whether it actually fits or not

  • yeah man i feel what you mean

  • portnoy: technically sound. he has the versatility to play very smooth, textural songs (these walls) to headbangers (as i am). he plays in crazy time signatures, has chops like a mad man, and has got a deeeep pocket for a metal drummer (kinda metal haha). i find him very tasty and brings a lot of flavor to DT.

  • jordison: well he's very boring and i also can't understand why people like him haha, unless of coure they're ingnorant.....which is the majority of his fan base

  • exactly!

  • god bless you brother...youre great

  • this guy is remarkbly unbelievable, and no wonder........ he has the name of The Winner on his shirt!! Keep it up Bro Flood!!

  • ... Why the fuck do you think that jesus has anything to do with his drum talents. He would be equally as good if he spent the same time he has already spent learning drums even if he was a satanist.

  • Comment removed

  • Even though I am a christian, you are so right on. Anyone can be born or develope a talent. What you use it for is your choice. I know, this sounds so moot. But sometimes you still have to say it in order for some to get it, hopefully.

  • that guys amazing i live in atlanta hes a god

  • That is a sick as it gets...

  • ..has anyone played his signature sticks?

  • "Jerome Flood II" nice fucking name.

  • slick as a baby's ass! i would kill for chops like that!

  • Practice....Look up the Gladstone Technique!

  • This man is clearly not human....Maybe drum playing is his mutant power.....yep...it is.

  • WOW!!!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!!

  • aaahhhhhh....waow!!!!! yeah!!!

  • That was obscene

  • jesus christ

  • i dont think you could be any better at drums than this

  • the best part was when he rubbed the snare beads under the snare drum... real dope interruption!

  • thats unreal

  • haha 4:08 is so awesome!!! x X

  • props

  • that was INSANE! These gospel drummers like Aaron Spears, Thomas Pridgen, John Blackwell, Tony Royster Jr. etc. are totally blasting the drum and music industry. Putting drumming to a new level. INCREDIBLE

  • is that a c&c drum set?

  • no im pretty sure its a gretsch.

  • i want a c&c soooo bad

  • go on my pro

  • Product of Rochester Ny.

  • yeah a four piece player all the other drummers asses....rome flodd you rule the drums man

  • the illest.
