She killed herself because she was under the influence of Connor's soul. The moral appears to be that souls are pesky things that cause nothing but trouble.
nagel and cordelia hands down the best and hottest couple ever too bad they didnt end up together but they should have they looked just right together, love how cordy brought out the fun side to angel rather than seeing his dark, broody intense self

Thanks. Kinda know what you mean, Buffy suits more of a Punk Rock vibe, particularly with the Nerf Herder theme tune and the prominence of Dingoes Ate My Baby in the show. This seems odd though, as Buffy can be just as downbeat as Angel (not as often, but out of all those relationships, how many last? In fact, there are hardly any where both characters survive.
Not sure about depressing, only the Feeder track really, hopefully Don't Fear The Reaper lets it end on a positive note.
Your right about not many of the couples lasting. At the end of the series the only couples that are still together are Kennady&Willow and Robin&Faith. All the other couples are either separated because they have stupid issuse or beacuse one of them died. Aren't writers evil: they make you fall in love with the characters and them torture them or kill them.
And of those two relationships, neither are perceived as being at all serious. Joss Whedon had a point though, and it's something the fanfic writers often overlook - happy characters are boring characters. Remove all the relationship drama, and BtVS suddenly becomes quite boring.

Yay Buffy is pretty depressing like Angel, but somehow buffy is more happy even if they have just as much missery in it. In Buffy there's a lot more humor than in Angel, especially in the later seasons of Angel. Maybe it's just that Angel is a bruding vampire and Buffy is a teenaged girl, but buffy always seened more cheerful to me.
It depends, Angel Season 4 didn't have too much humour in it, but I thought their Season 5 was the funniest of the lot, it did, after all, include Smile Time.
I'm not sure, I think statistically watching a show about a brooding, formerly-psychotic vampire is far less depressing than one about a teenaged girl, at least Angel broods about things actually worth brooding over - a century of bloodshed, as opposed to Buffy fretting about her boyfriend.
I agree that season 5 was much more humouos than season four. Season 1 & 2 aren't that bad exept for the whole Darla thing, but the second half of season 3 and season 4 is really depresing. I really liked season 5 though.
I always liked Angel/Darla more than Angel/Buffy, but I guess he's always going to love Buffy.

Really? I always thought she was better suited to Xander - they hated each other and were generally nasty a lot, which I thought worked for them both.
As for Angel, I personally thought that he and Darla were quite sweet. But that's me.
