Thanks!! I got lucky and found one at a good price years ago, but now there are plenty of affordable choruses with a fast enough rate that can do a great job.
Thanks! SRV used a Fender Vibratone which is the same as a Leslie 16. I have one of these also, and post a shot clip on my channel. Yes, i guess FX are cool if you don't overused them, but some of my favorites guitar players like Hendrix and Gilmour used them with great taste.
Thanks!! pretty easy. i set the toggle switch in the middle to "pitch modulation" the "speed" knob in between 5 and 10 HZ, the "width" all the way to 6 and the "intensity" fully close to 0.
OK, from my guitar i go to the Wah, then to the little red box which is a home made A/B box that split my signal to either a Boss tuner or the rest of my FX. so from the splitter box out to the FX, it's the Octafuzz, the Lovepedal Eternity, then up to the Deja Vibe, back down to the Super Duper, to the Compressor, the Boss DM3 and finally The T.C. Chorus.
Thanks Rob, Would runing your compressor after your other pedals enhance noise? I have tried that and it's pretty noisy for what I use. BTW I have to get one of those octafuzz pedals, holy crap it sounds great.!
Running them after or before ODs, fuzzes... will always add noise. i would normally use it first in line as a booster, but when i did this vid (and a few others) i used it after all my "gain" pedals to even the sound a bit.
yeah, these Octafuzz are really cool. i've tried the Chicago Iron ones, and the Fulltone costed less and sounded as good. if you get one, try it with before a Tube Screamer (or a clone) you'll love it!! it's a trick i picked up in a magazine article with SRV.
- the delay is a DM-3. i made a clip of it with all the sounds you can get it them on this page.
-the compressor is indeed an Analog.man great sounding compressor. made a clip of it too.
- Lovepedals are nice. mine is the "Roadhouse Edition" which has less gain, but it's still a TS clone like many of them on the market. the differences are subtle and i like it, but i'm always switching pedals and always end up sounding pretty much the same anyway ;)
Sounds really good! I'm using a Boss RT-20 Leslie simulator, but I think that's too muddy sometimes even when I turn down the overdrive knob. Wish I could try both in the same time and compare. I have a Vibratone too and nothing can sound like that...but it's too dayumm heavy :)
Thanks Tommy!! sure nothing can replace the real thing, but since roadies are expensive... lol!! i hear the theArion SCH-Z is pretty good at that, but i don't think that a plastic pedaland my foot is a good match ;)
Clapton says that he has tried out a few "leslie effect pedals" for use in studio, but he points out that Nothing is like the feel of the physical presence of a leslie cabinet behind your back. :)
~WoW...this sounds not even close to your video of the real cabinet...but I see what you mean about lugging it around...the average listener in a bar would'nt notice the difference either...~~
Your right. but on the other vid, i'm mostly using the slow speed which is impossible to emulate without a real Leslie. on this one, i tried to copy the fast speed, and it's the closest i can get with a chorus... but i'm with you; there's nothing like the real thing!!
the vibratone cabinet is the tone i'm looking for in a pedal. i wish they made a vibratone-in-a-box. the slow setting is great. srv, clapton, hendrix man. i wish i had a vibratone too!
yeah thats really close. So far I've had the arion sch1 and the boss simulator leslie and neither of them are that close. they also retain the fatness of the guitar. Where do you run it in the signal chain?
right after the wah. i use it's buffer to get a nice signal throughout the pedalboard, and since the effect is before anything that distort, you lose clarity and definition making the the whole thing fatter. i use the P.M. (pitch modulator) position on the toggle switch.
sold the Cry Baby... too noisy, and somebody stole my Sun Face a few months ago. since these pedals run on batteries, and like to be the first in your signal chain, the SF was never on my board. i just plugged my guitar into it and then to the pedalboard. anyway, at one gig, when i came back for the 2nd set it was gone. since these things are expensive, i replaced it with an an Analog.man modded Maxon SD9 that i already had. i know it's not the same thing, but that's all i can afford for now.
Nice. The only effect I ever use nowadays is a supervibe on vibrato for the Leslie effect.I find it so distracting though.I'm a bit of a goldfish attention-wise.
great pedalboard dude

Nice effect man...I hearc Stevie Ray Vaughn in that -or did he use a real Leslie cab?
I find the more effects you have, the less you have to use em...!

Great videos Robert. Can I ask where you run your compressor in the chain? Or how does your effect chain link together by order of pedal?

I have a couple questions-
-is that a boss DM-2? (I've never actually seen one)
-Is that analogman pedal a compressor?
-How is the Lovepedal Eternity working out for you?

Sure!

is the drive or boost in front of the TC or after?
sounds almost identical to a real leslie, really convincing
AndyVerok 3 years ago
it's in front. i tried it before my last gain stage, the Super duper, with cool result as well. the "Leslie tone" was a bit dirtier though.

i want to know if that 2 in 1 zvex does not have an ac jack!!!!! cause i really like the tone that u get from that lil pedal
casandrabejarano 3 years ago
no, but ZVex is selling what they call "power plates" that enable you to use the pedal with an AC adapter.

Moi, il me fait bien envi ton pedalboard, Rob!
Choisir un chorus semble être aussi un casse-tête... lequel pour jouer quoi?!
Je trouve réussie ta "simulation" d'un Leslie.

Thanks for the demo, sounds close enough for show work and I agree with you on the hauling of this vs a Vibratone.

a Voodoo lab pedal power. it's right under the TC Chorus (you can see it's light on the upper left of the board). kinda of a split level pedalboard ;)
