There wasn't any windmills in Russia.. I know an authentic account doesn't matter when it comes to art, but still want to mention this fact... for some reason :)
Doesn't the upper class have anything better to do than shoot each other? I am amazed at how much misery Onegin caused just by showing up, messing with Tatiana's head, and then going off with the fiancee of another man and insulting her morals, and then this.
@TheNuharoo insulting her morals? I think he was implying that she was cheaply bought as opposed to being an outright hoe. She was a bit of an airhead and a flirt and was probably only with lensky because he got there first and had money.
But you have a point about them shooting each other.
I'm french sorry for my mistakes. I think maybe Onegin feels something for her because of the drawing of her that we can see at the end of the video. He is not as cold as he seems to be / as he want to be. That would explain the evolution of the story after. Something in him changes...and he opens his eyes..
Onegin was right that was so unnecessary, just ask for an apology for flirting don't fork out a duel the other guy is such a dumb schmuck btws. ralph fiennes is a bad ass i would not want to duel with him
the duel could have been prevented in lots of different ways. the second is supposed to encourage reconciliation, whilst Onegin showing up late would have automatically made Lensky the winner and the duel needn't have happened. The fact that Onegin's second was a servant also means that the duel should have been forfeit and Lensky would have won. Onegin did try to prevent the duel, but in a totally Byronic and inactive way. So is Russian literature.
somehow women keep getting in the way of men's genuine friendships, I never carry on conversations with my husband's men friends (or dance with them) freindships are too precious to lose
I think it was an accident y'all. I don't think he meant to kill Vladimir. He seems genuinely upset about it to me but I could be wrong. I think he might have enjoyed Lensky's friendship.
i dnt get it lensky shot him too but nothing hpnd to him but then he shoots him on the side of the head

Admin should've booted Onegin, I'm sure I detected an aimbot in use.

I always hated this part...
Why'd you do it Lensky? Didn't think.
No chances of matrimony now. Parted by death before any vows exchanged.
tsk tsk tsk. (p.s. Olga's a bumbling twat)

He could have shot him in the arm or leg not his head. It was so brutal I really hate Onegin now!

@KKislitsyna
He could not, because it goes on until one of them is dead.Vladimir would kill him instead.

Onegin didn't have to shoot Valdimir; he could have fired into the air......
813Ellen 1 year ago
@813Ellen Of course he had to shoot him, if he hadn't they would have reloaded the pistols and the next round he might not have been so lucky.
And it's VLADIMIR, not VALDIMIR btw... it's a Russian name
