I went through this experience and there is no chance for a father to resolve it sooner rather than later, simply because the Family Law has some grey areas where abduction of children by mother even without court orders some how fits within normal and perfectly acceptable thing to do in our society and community. Yet if father attempts to perform the same trick by taking children in his custody - he will be severely punished and prosecuted - plus he has no guarantee to see kids at all

From what I can see Charlie loves his kids and they are not in harms way; albeit despite having a father who has suffered from substance abuse and may be permanently affected. Being a parent who has made those mistakes isn't a crime; neglecting and hurting your kids is. It seems the mother was quite happy to leave the kids with no contact or custody arrangements & admits to a recent relapse so her motives & parental skills are highly questionable! Denise Richards would be a great foster parent!

@MrUnorthobox First of all, having homosexual parent's isn't a "negative", that's just stereotypes and myths. Second of all, having children exposed to drug use and drinking problems does significantly increase their chances of having severe issues of their own when they're older. It doesn't guarantee it, but it does increase the likelihood by a lot. Third, I have to agree with you that having multiple female role-models doesn't in itself seem to really affect a child's development.

The kids were removed because clearly, officials feel Sheen's home may be a dangerous environment. His erratic behavior might indicate severe drug abuse, or serious mental instability... either of which can pose a danger to those children.

Naturally, there may be nothing wrong with Sheen or his environment... but officials were just acting on overwhelming suspicion. On the chance that they were right, I applaud the swift action of removing those kids.
