The original has a better story and has Jamie Lee Curtis. The original version is about a guy willing to kill 4 teens who murdered a little girl years ago when they're her age. It has a twist at the end and it's more emotional and has kick-ass disco music.

They should call the remake something else

Slashers that don't see the killing on screen are not that bad, heck. The famous slasher film, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie used the picked up the psychology terror from Last House on the Left. But dropped the gore, leaving the audiance to fill those blanks themselfs. It worked then, beautifly. So why not work for this one? Proberly no terror from the the minds of a psycho family.

It's pretty weird how censorship changes so much. In Hitchcock's day we couldn't have any sort of sexual images. After Psycho we got past that. In the 70's and 80's we hit kind of an even thing between blood and sexual images. Now we can have sexual images, but any blood is basically not allowed. Now we have only remakes and PG-13 garbage. Remakes aren't always bad, but this was both those things. It throws out all the cliche horror stuff. Even that mirror trick we've seen a hundred times!

Well when I saw this I hadn't seen alot of slasher films, so it scared me a little. I did enjoy that they showed how prom isn't all it's thought up to be, even though it's better than a school one. Still after watching far better slasher films that didn't scare me, I realize this sucks. Still MAYBE the unrated version is like 1/100% better. PG-13 slasher films are guaranteed to be stupid. But I'm gonna stick with the REAL slashers like Jason, Michael and Freddy. Those guys are awesome!
