cant you just use a capture card from your TV to your labtop and then use a normal headset you plug into the computer?

@gta4nightkiller You still have to mix the signals. You can probably do this with software, but just using a hardware mixer seems easier. I wouldn't use a headset to record your voice, because if you go to play online, you're gonna use a headset anyway, so you'll have to wear two headsets. That's why a mic on a stand is easier.

you dont HAVE to have one but it makes everything easyer, if you have one you dont have to keep plugging the cords into the TV
