I haven't played this game in well over 15 years, probably closer to 20, and I NEVER knew that the ump was saying that. Those rare moments that I heard it, I just thought the game was glitching (or whatever I called "glitching" back then) and it sounded like the ump was saying "you out" (yes, "you") all retarded-like, then saying "out" in a normal voice. I can't believe how well I can remember everything about this game.
Oh man, I totally remember getting this, during a game. Great vid. I can actually hear you playing with the nes advantage, as well. i know the sound of those big ass buttons a mile away!
@thatbastardson Actually, I was using an X-Arcade joystick to play this on an emulator. Those are real arcade buttons. Once you've used an X-Arcade, you'll never go back. ;)
Thanks for the info. I didn't used to be into sports games (even now, there's only a few I really like), but I was exposed to this one constantly, as my older brother played the hell out of it. For a 21 year old NES game, I think it's pretty impressive.

I thought it said, "You're out, bum!" when I played it as a kid but it's been a long time.

thanks for posting this. I'm 33 years old and I was just looking at my old games and remembered Bases Loaded saying You BUM. lol

That umpire would probably get ejected if that happened in a real game.

Haha, that's awesome, I've never heard that before.

It occurs when any batter strikes out with the bases loaded and nobody out
