There isn't anything that would keep you from seeing the shadows that is hardware based right? The Render Deffered keeps setting itself back to false after my computer freezes up for about 10 seconds.
Well...Shadow Draft is really really picky about what GPUs work. I am actually surprised it didn't crash on my first try.
My best bet is nVidia 9xxx or equivalent is required to run this. And trust me, it runs really bad in populated/complex areas. So bad it WILL crash and there is nothing you can do about it.
Also, I suggest having at least 2Gb RAM. SD2 is known to have a ultra memory leak/ MASSIVE memory requirements. Sometimes so bad that it causes a BSOD when you close the viewer.
Well from what I've heard, SL doens't even use your graphics card to render so I assumed my 7600 GT would be fine because I have 4 gigs of ram on a dual cores clocked at 3 ghz. I am geussing my outdated Graphics card is the main reason why though.*I should have bought that GX2 when I had the chance ):*
if isnt with the thyrd party viewer compliant, you cant use it

At bare minimum settings, it barely uses the GPU. At max, it uses the shader portion of a GPU to render the Sky, Water, and special effects.
ShadowDraft acts in the same way, except it will use advanced shaders when dynamic shadows are enabled.
