  • @raaak1990 thanks for ur reply and your exhibition of your family ground by using such a low language, it tells who you are, anyway we recognise people by their words, I would still say that war must end , all humans are alike and blood is red everywhere, its people like you the warmongers who spread hatred think about it

  • In any war only the common man looses. The actual perpetrators benefit.

I fully agree with the comments made by ravinder 1955 & kampaku11.

  • we must respect soldiers of all countries, they were doing what they were suppose to do during war,it is high time that both countries should feel the pain, agony of missing soldier,s family and try to find out them.

  • i think both paki and indian leadership must be tried in the court of law for committing crimes against humanity, they divided people and later made them to fight each other,i am a pakistani living in europe and deeply disturbed by this insane division of india,I would like to call upon pakis and indians to ask their crazy govt to stop this nonsense of war rhetoric, lets not let our people to suffer at our own hands , lets let the sanity prevail , lets defeat war mongers

  • @kampaku11 fuk u ... its PAKISTANI n we thank Jinnah for our independence.LONG LIVE PAKISTAN.I spit on people like u.

on topic.. i thank indian media and IAF for these videos n help.

    Humanity prevails.

  • tell something about mm alam as well , a pakistan pilot who destroys 5 indian planes in winth in a minute.

  • As a nation we have to honour our heroes, gop simply cant avoid this matter.our these two heroes were on their third mission in less than 9 hour itself reflect their patriotism and courage, during their third mission in less than 9 hours they were on bombing mission at enemy base and crashed due to enemy fire they deservved to beawarded atleast SJ.civil society have to raise the issue to convince both PAF and GoP to re consider the case of these shaheeds of PAF.

  • @shamidfdg

I agree with your sentiment. If somehow GoP & PAF can be convinced, it would bring the 2 heroes their due status and recognition which they actually deserve.

Any action in this regard would be welcome by everyone, especially the families of the martyrs.

  • @shamidfdg may Allah give them the real award.

    its the original thing

  • There is a striking contrast in the PAF history books and what Ms shehnaz Haider described in interview, she is telling that after the war she recieved the wallet of her husband with their wedding photo within.on the other hand PAF history books revealed that Alam dived his B.57over the sea,and perhaps due to Spatiual disorientation struck the sea and aircraft sank.if it is true then how her wi

  • @shamidfdg

Yes, unfortunately the authorities remained short of pondering over this point & never corrected the misinformed/inferred versions which initially went into official history, despite receiving evidence which revealed the actual fate of the B-57 and its crew as per IAF accounts.

  • This is sad that both still remained undecorated by GoP,their courage and sacrifice deserves them to get decorated, its depend upon The PAF to look into the matter If IAF decorated its pilot Diveya (of mystere sht down by F/LT Amjad in 1965 war )postthoumslly after more then 20 years than surely PAF could reevaluate its History to correct that left.let hope.......

  • Know how these B57 phased out? it was early 1984 I was in surgical wardof masroor and one of 31 wing telling us how a day before some visiting US pilots even refuse to sit in these old birds. just same night a B57 crashed into the sea whole night search failed to find the crew, fortunately in the morning both pilot and navigator found fit as fiddle..previously supposed dead ,the news was too joyous B/C announced holiday that flight ,crashd was the last of B57 of PAF.

  • PAF had lost two B.57 in1965 war,IAF too lost its canberras,I have the honour to watch two iaf desperately trying to hit the port installation but a single PAF sabre was behind one IAF canberra I saw fire from side of sabre front,IAF canberra climb up for shortwhile revolving and nose down it fell in to sea less then one nt mile from manora no ejection,by canberra crew.

  • what irritate me is the complete negation of the navigator of ill fated B57.I pay tributes to him besidealam.

  • SAD YAR ....

  • The Navigator in Sqn Ldr Shabbit Alam's Fighter Jet was Sqn Ldr Aslam Quereshi,he died along side him in 1965 war and i am proud to tell this fact that he is my uncle(Mamo)......People sacrifice their lives for this country and look where the Politicians are taking it....So I am sadly proud of their achievements....Pakistan Zindabad!!

  • Mr Wajahat, thank you for your comment. An honour to see you here. Indeed Sqn Ldr Aslam Qureshi was the navigator on this mission. He was senior to Sqn Ldr Alam Siddiqui in service and was a very highly respected officer. Both these brother officers together contributed immensely to Pakistan and PAF. Allah bless their souls.

  • Thank you and thanks for this post.......i am a bit disappointed on the manner this video is made as no recognition to the navigator,Aslam Qureshi has been given in it......neither these gentlemen have been decorated.......very soon after conducting my own complete research on the facts i and Mr.Aslam Qureshi's son would pursue the government and PAF to decorate the gentelmen.....this video just confirms that Aslam Qureshi is not a prisoner of war about which our family had some doubt

  • You're right that this documentary was focused mainly on Sqn Ldr Alam Siddiqui, but perhaps it was due to the contact which IAF had with Sqn Ldr Siddiqui's family, otherwise, there is no doubt that the sacrifice and heroism of both officers is equally glorious.

You are right about the lack of decoration which was truly well deserved for both. It's never too late to honour national heroes, and I fully support a call for their decoration.

  • did u read what pifferguide said above not to use offensive language,,,u shud be sorry to call names..I feel sorry for u

  • Touching story

  • very touchy and emotional :-(

  • The Navigator Of the ill fated B.57 should also be praised.

  • True & certainly there is no 'negation' of the esteemed & courageous navigator SL Aslam Qureshi Shaheed who was a fine patriot and senior navigator. Both Siddiqui & Qureshi were friends & laid their lives for Pakistan together on the same mission. Unfortunately both have remained undecorated by the PAF and GoP, whereas their sacrifice was at par with each other as well as that of their many colleagues. This video focuses more on the pilot only due to the subject being his wife's visit to India.

  • Thanks everyone for the interest and comments on these videos and the tremendous story of heroism and sacrifice. Feel free to write in and share views, But Please avoid offensive language and negative comments. Soldiers and their families deserve the highest respect regardless of the side they belong to.

    Thanks!

    HMZ.

  • This is a great tribute.

  • lol.....

  • Really Nice Upload. But its so sad. Thanks for sharing..

Hindus are not that nice as they show themselves cuz they were the aggressor, attacker, invader in 1965 and not Pakistan!

  • no need to say bad words about hindus. be patriotic but dont be stupid/racist

  • MIAs are often difficult. I remember in Vietnam in the hospital with a marine who had been awarded the silver star for his actions as a point man, telling me the story of how he ended up in the hospital. Upon returning to thier overnight camp from a patrol, a medic who had only been in Vietnam for a week sat down on a 250lb bomb that had been hidden and boobytraped. It exploded and my friend was buried under the dirt. When they dug him out his ears were bleeding and he could here nothing..con't

  • con't... they shipped him to the hospital for being deaf. (but only one eardrum broken). The medic who sat on the bomb was missing in action. Nothing was found.

  • Unfortunately there are always some, who, on the battlefield or in the air, receive a direct hit from large artillery, and thier are no remains to be found. 250lb bombs carry huge amounts of high explosives. 500lb, 1000lb,2000lb bombs. Missles 100lbs, 200 lbs, 50 lbs, etc etc.

  • war is devastating for both soldiers and civilians. the scars are both physical and emotional and take long to heal - and take many people's lives ever after war

  • It is true for some. But not all. (I do not mean to minimise thier anquish), but I have met many career soldiers who thrive in the enviroment. Its not blood lust either, its the comraderie, danger, and adventure they seem to live for. Many continueosly volunteer again and again for such duty. I knew a number of these people when I was in Vietnam.

  • well sir, you always get ones who thrive when their adrenaline gets pumping. who want to do something they can go back home and say "yes i did it, and it was worth it all". there is still some romance about the soldier on the frontline, as long as his mind doesnt become bent on killing as you mentioned as blood lust

most of my family has a history in the pakistan army. my dad is a retired Lt.Col while one of my uncles is a serving brigadier. one uncle retired as a major but he fought in 1971

  • Gerry: My mate! What is an MIA? I remember the B57 bombers Pakistan had as shown in the above video are all bought under the US-PAK 1959 Defence relationship! Is B57 bomber still operated by US airforce gerry?

  • Missing In Action

The B-57 was long gone retired from service (about 2-3 decades back) when the bigger and faster bombers like the B-52, B-1B and B-2 stealth bomber became used

u can always search wiki ;)

  • If they were part of the 1959 defense package they would have been fairly new at the time as they were produced from 1957 on.

  • a)Gerry

Maybe u r correct but the above video which shows the hit is not the B57 it is actually a bomber! I am not aware of when Pakistan recieved them but B57s were certainly used in the 1965 war and 1971 East Pakistan war. They were produced in 1954 and not 1957! But I wonder why they were discontinued after Vietnam war as they were relatively new! The B-52, FB-111, B-1 and B-2 came much late after the Vietnam war ended in 1975

  • see the thing is, the B-57 was more or less a medium range strike bomber targetting strategic locations or being an attack plane on things like railyards, ammo dumps, fuel dumps airfields etc.

the problem was the B-57 is a slow plane. It was based on the old EE Canberra plane of Royal Air Force and Indian Air Force. The reason these planes were discontinued was when ALCMs, and faster bombers like the FB-111 came in.

the B-57 became obsolute since it wasnt supersonic, nor could it carry a lot

  • No..

Correct to some extend! B57 was discontinued due to old dated designs and not much potential for growth with significant engine problems causing huge black smoke issues! It was built quickly due to Korean war resulting in not properly being combat ready and structural design issues! lack of funds was also an issue! B57s had issues from the start when they were built and yes they were not super-sonic nor could carry load even though it was modified but for that time it was a new plane!

  • The B52 was already 20 years old at the end of the Vietnam war and the F-111 was just coming on line. The age of the B52 at that time prompted the US to look for a new bomber. The B-1A was first introduced and cancelled by President Carter in 1977. It was President Reagan who authorized the upgraded B model for production in 1981. Reagan also authorized the B-2 which first flew in 1989.

  • You are correct, produced from 1954 on. Too much "57" on the brain,

  • Lol...Were u born on '57' or married in '57' or first love in '57' or took out some enemies in '57' or ate lots of Pizzas in '57' something in ur mind which looks importan happened in 1957 :)?

  • Too much research on the B57.

  • MIA is "missing in action". In my example, there was nothing left of the individual as his body disintegrated. It happens. KIA, "Killed in action". The B-57 as far as I am aware was discontinued after the Vietnam war for the US. I do remember the Austrailians using them for a while. The B-52, FB-111, B-1 and B-2 Are the primary bombers of the US today.

  • 2.

In the Pak-India 1965 war only three B-57s were lost in action but only one of those three was lost as a result of enemy action meaning the only B57 of Squadren Leader Shabbir Alam Siddiqui Shaheed aircraft as shown above. During the war, the bomber wing of the PAF was attacking the concentration of airfields in north India. During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the PAF again made use of the B-57.

  • 3.

There was a higher attrition rate of B57s in 1971 than in 1965, with at least 5 B-57s being put out of service by the end of the war. Only Pakistan and China bought them. They were retired from service in the PAF in 1985 as they were not good enough to fly.

  • The B57 was never highly rated as it could not fly if one engine went out. A significant number of accidents (I believe around 50% of losses) were encountered during takeoffs and landings.

  • What is the status of use of B57s in US Airfoce in that era? Did u used them too?

I beleive the real reason was that during Korean war US airforce urgently needed a strike bomber and due to the hurry they made this B57 in quick time resulting in un-proper evaluation and make of the plane! Also less R&D and money spend which resulted in structural flaws and hence in engine issues facing crashes every now and then!

  • The only B57s I remember from that era were the Austrailian B57 Canberras. They were used in Vietnam much by the Ausies and would often be on our runway being refueled.
