Firstly, this is an arrow, not a bow. But seeing as you're from Holland and probably got mixed up, not a big problem...

Secondly, if you manage to kill a good sized bird, take three stiff feathers off the wings (all three feathers must be of the same wing, either left or right, and good sized)) and super-glue them to the back at even intervals. The arrow will spin over it's axis (to the right if the feathers came from the right wing, and vice versa), and fly MUCH straighter, and farther.

The pvc tubes are strong enough, for the arrow to fly far enough, especially for a shortbow. And it are several pipes in each other, from the thickest to the thinest, so you build up the strength from the middle to the outside, at the outside the force is the least in the middle where it bends: that's the place where the bow needs to be the strongest!

A good bow doesn't necesserly has to have a lot of tension on the string.

BTW: there was a lot of wind on the day I filmed the arrow shots.
