...a similar incident happened between "Tim O'Hara" [Bill Bixby] and his boss "Mr. Burns" [J. Pat O'Malley]- for another of Kellogg's cereals- at the end of a 1963 "MY FAVORITE MARTIAN" episode.
Kellogg's sponsored "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" throughout most of its original CBS network run (1962-'71), on alternate Wednesdays [R.J. Reynolds (Winston) was the "alternate sponsor" during its first five seasons, then Campbell Soup after 1967]. It was the custom at the time for the cast to appear in an "integrated" commercial for their sponsor at the end of the episode....
Whenever Mr. Drysdale was talking to Mrs. Hathaway, she was about to put the spoon of cereal in her mouth. She really looked like she was annoyed by this.
If that tornado went through Battle Creek instead of Joplin we wouldn't have no more Kellogg's corn flakes. That would be UNTHINKABLE!!!!
