Ok am not going to knock you down. A fire extinguisher is a good idea, but where to place it in the house hold. Has it been checked. What type of extinguisher, what size of fire extinguisher.

At least with a sprinkler system, its fixed in the room and depends on the set up of the room. Be it bedroom to living room.

Can the person use the fire extinguisher, under stress...

Why not just keep a fire extinguisher around instead of a sprinkler system in your house. you don't take the risk of as much damage if a small fire happens. and a large fire is why we have the fire department.
