@hollidayevery: To hear another great Scritti 'salt & pepper' collaboration check out the Youtube video 'Love of a Lifetime' by CHAKA KHAN, which is really the 80's Scritti lineup with Chaka singing....and Green himself in a brief musical cameo delivering the opening line.
@jonsilence Scritti Politti is a they (that is the name of the band)...Green Gartside and David Garrison comprised Scritti at the time this song was written.
@hollidayevery: Green Gartside (real name Paul Strohmeyer) was the founder of Scritti Politti in '77 and uses the Scritti name for whatever lineup he happens to be working with at any given time, right up to today. In the 80s Scritti were comprised of Green, Gamson, and drummer Fred Maher. Indeed Green & Gamson co-wrote this song. But from then untl now, the name Scritti Politti is synonymous with Green Gartside. For the past couple of decades Green/aka Scritti has been a solo artist.
@jonsilence Thanks so much for the additional information...I did make a small typo...I should have said David Gamson, and NOT David Garrison...MY BAD...
