  • I Hope you found the peace of mind you were looking for ? I Can under stand why you had to live your own life before it all became to much. All my love to you and thank you for all your music. Curve rock and will be played in my media player on 5 * rating xxx

  • I dont like it THAT much in MONO, in stereo works wonders for me

  • Epic song, one of the bests what I heard. Love Curve.

  • 12 people are deaf

  • oh my god those fender are just orgasmic

  • Shoegazin in my Flip-Flops.

  • I'd forgotten just how good this was

  • it sounds like the band garbage.

  • @dinggos72 Garbage were often accused of ripping off these guys.

  • a hot girl, with a hot voice ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Super, he does have a great voice, Rock and Roll rules

  • desde cuando escuche a CURVE deje por completo la musica de EEUU instantaneamente para escuchar la musica de esta balleza

  • So, a week ago I got my hands on "Doppelganger" and "Cuckoo". I think I'm about to drive my poor wife around the bend, and yes, I'm fully aware that I'm acting like a fanatical teenager, but SO F*****G WHAT? This music is f*****g BRILLIANT... as is the case with so many other great bands, it just boggles my mind that Curve weren't HUGE in the States. I guess we were too busy listening to RUBBISH like Bon Jovi or Mariah Carey, and ignored the brilliance of Curve, Lush and VOTB. Sigh...

  • This band is great. Singer is drop dead gorgeous... but damn, their video clips sucks ass of a monkey.

  • This song still gives me goose bumps; it oozes class. Anyone that hasn't already got the album, go and buy Doppelganger now!

Garbage aspired to be this band.

  • @ZeFluxCapacitor Thank you! ~XD

  • Curve was ahead of their time (yes way before Garbage. I believe Shirley was in Angelfish at the time). Amazing stuff. WAY underrated. One of my best memories was interviewing Toni way back when.

  • @elkiecat Hi ~XD

  • Plum Cada vez

  • @lfdbam ~XD

  • OMG... this is absof*****glutely BRILLIANT. I loved Lush from the very first time I heard "Ladykillers" (like most Americans, that was the first track I ever heard from them), but Curve got NO airplay where I lived, so had to wait until now to discover them... GIVE ME MORE, I'M HOOKED!

  • Why best things of our lives use to disappear....sigh...Curve The Empire of Shoegaze!!!!!

  • Toni Haliday if your still out there

Toni Haliday should have been mine ! sigh

  • Why were they so cool?

  • Anyone intelligent knows that Garbage aped Curve. They actually owe them money.

  • @saleens No; Curve REPEATEDLY turned down Butch Vig's offer to produce their work. Don't blame Garbage for Curve being retarded and turning down their big break chance.

  • @BakerX2 sometimes its better to keep your musical freedom than taking thier "big break chance". it doesn't make them retarded.

  • @saleens I agree, and i love this ,but to be fair Curve owes My Bloody Valentine quite a bit!

  • @saleens False! Have you actually listened to Garbage's albums?

  • I do kinda think Garbage filled the space Curve left behind. Maybe? Great band but didn't date so well.

  • @AustinMcsherry How do you mean didn't date so well? You not like their electronica stuff?

  • Stunning track from a very under reared yet very influential band

  • Shame they didnt last, they were one of the good things that came out of the whole "alternative" movement of the early 90s.

  • @HexMarksthespot ...they made albums up until the mid 00's. I didn't like their Crow/Matrix long black leather coat sounding later stuff though

  • gods and goddess....curve

  • gods and goddess....curve

  • A big thanks to the best producer: Mark Ellis, aka Flood...

  • Takes me back to 1992!(the sound of early nineties "alternative music")

  • One of the best videoclips ever. (Let alone the song.)

  • This should have been HUGE. Shoegaze Electronica, One of the best songs of the 90's from a criminally underrated band.

    Their sound was immense.

  • @hundhun17 I must agree to that, cheers!

  • God, I love music like this.

  • Love, love, love, love this song. Used to thrash it back in the day. Why can't music be this good anymore?

  • I don't give a shit who might have copied who, all I know is that if there was a 24 hour version of this video, I'd prepare a pot of coffee and watch it.

  • it's music, everybody rips off each other and in the process, create their own sound and style, if they pull it off right.Only the totally clueless bands don't get it right

  • I always thought that she is saying AIDS and not FATE

  • oh yeah i cum to make you feel good....

  • "..to every party, to every function, I give it to people with written instructions, don't try to get away, i'm here to stay... " and then some freakin amazing tornado-like guitar effect.... *melts*...

  • I saw Curve at they hey day. I was bruise , they were awesome . Big cult motherfuckers, I think they were unique at the time. Had amazing tunes and videos. Garbage follow up, also from Propaganda. Shirley Manson was also utterly adorable and had impecable taste. Gorgeous sweet gal who knew who the best were, and also how to Also a classic performer.and how to use her voice..Love them all.

  • I like Garbage . Have a bunch of their stuff , But they are a pop band Curve was always redefining the mold , They spent more time outside the box than in , And THAT is why they were never as popular a Garbage . Garbage thinks inside thew box Nothing new in ways of sounds except sounding thinly similar like Curve. Curve = Great Band redefining music and a new experience with each LP . Garbage is similar to a once great artist that has been reduced to writing elevator music . Or Curve Light

  • i agree, curve was more original. garbage was good but a knock off.

BUT, and this is a big but, curve was obviously heavily influenced by MY BLOODY VALENTINE. MBV are the originators of this sound. both curve and garbage descended from my bloody valentine.

  • @halfmonk ...and MBV were very heavily influenced by The Cockteau Twins. So whats your point again? Its just music, not some sort of who came first competition!!

  • @coltsuperocean10,

it's not a competition. but there is a difference between being an originator and someone who is following. maybe that doesn't matter as far as you're concerned. that's your business.

for me and many other people, it does matter who created certain music for the first time. it's about recognizing the origin of creativity. and understanding that imitation is not the same thing as creation.

  • Iconic.

  • Toni Halliday = Hot.

  • "Fait Accompli" is still the best Curve song ever (in my opinion). It's PERFECT!

  • Curve all the way, they were just amazing, they gave me purpose, my life belongs to them, i love them and miss them so so much :-(

  • Garbage cheap knockoff?. Duke Erikson, Steve Marker and Butch Vig are outstanding musicians very much in demand as producers/engineers. Sure, there were similiarities in the bands' sound and between Shirley's singing and Toni's but Garbage went on to create songs that are uniquely their own, Curve would have probably kept on developing their sound and their songs and we'd have two great bands instead of just one.

  • @MegaPoone I am not questioning their skills . I like Garbage , More than a little . But Yes they were a POP knockoff of Curve . much more radio friendly . Curve didn't really seem to be worried about airplay otherwise I am sure that there would have been a lot more tunes with airplay . Curve Innovated . No matter what you think ,everything that I have ever heard by Garbage has been inspired by Curve . I can hear it in the music .

  • @MegaPoone I am not saying Curve was perfect in the matter either , They ripped a song by PJ Harvey for the song Dog Bone off from the Come Clean LP . But That is the only instance that I am aware of ... And I love both versions ... Curve broke up because Toni didn't feel like rehashing the same OL stuff . She figured that they had just about done everything that needed doing and I imagine that while writing new music or playing a rehearsal for a new song that the idea could spring up .

  • She wears mascara better than anyone else ever !

  • @7Flume I dunno ... Robert Smith did a pretty good job too.

  • I think Toni Halliday is gorgeous

  • Eleven people have their heads planted firmly up their own asses.

  • Curve ..... In one word ... FANTASTIC !! , I listen to all their best stuff on my ipod while walking through the park, and it looks like I'm walking through a video :) One of the best bands ever to come out of the Brit Music Scene, its like listening to a controlled nuclear explosion, while an angel soars vocally overhead .

  • If Toni has come to make me feel good, then I will never leave the house again. All right!

  • I cried when I learned of the end. I'm not sure exactly what happened but they exited gracefully... Dean and Toni together was just f'ing electrifying... the tingles I'd get hearing about a new release coming out, getting the new release, listening to the new release... waiting for the tour...

  • @nottommyb Dean and Toni are still making music. Dean is involved in various projects like SPC ECO, Morpheme, etc. and Toni released in 2010 a piano-based album under the alias Chatelaine.

  • Toni and Dean...proper PROPER class.

Anyone got a time machine??? I NEED to get back there!!!!!!!!!!

  • Never seen the film before but know the track well, always a big favourite. This band create such a great atmosphere on their material. Cool film, too.

  • curve fucking rocks........

  • It's fuckin out of sync.

  • are they sacrificing that sheep lol

  • @LiberateThisWill thats the right attitude.

  • @roborat91 Also - The right answer.

  • Just the best.

  • just listening to her give the eager-est of lob-on's.

  • I agree @LiberateThisWill, I'm a big fan of both Curve and Garbage. I had the chance to see Curve in concert back in the day. The fact is we don't get enough music that sounds like either of the two bands anymore. Although there are a few.

  • @TheCanadianPrairies

Fuck off, Garbage are a mere imitation of Curve. Plagiarism takes too much credit.

I respect you and will buy you a drink for being a Curve and Garbage fan, but comparing the 2? let's leave that out of a drunk conversation, along with religion and politics...lol.

    Take care

  • @30Ciaran

You mad, bro? You do realize that even Toni Halliday liked Garbage's work? But maybe I'll take you up on that drink, lol.

  • @TheCanadianPrairies

    NAh, Toni came before Shirley.

  • @30Ciaran

Nah, that has nothing to do with what I said, lol.

  • toni halliday, lovely voice and a sexy woman too. what more can a man wish for ???

  • Toni .. every Indie Kid's wet dream. fantastic record this one... timeless

  • FAVED´ ....5 STARS...

  • Deborah Chanta!!

    jajajj

  • Yes!

  • Love it!

  • This is my favourite Curve song. What exists now that is anywhere near as good as this?

  • Maybe people just have a need to compare things, and not take things for what they are, by itself, on it's own. It just is... better or worse, "inspired by" or "stolen"... Your comments reflect you more than what your interpretation does.

  • THE poem.

"Give me aggression with written instructions"

Such stuff will never be written again.

  • Fuck. Yes.

  • curve ripped off kevin shields glide guitar. So did a whole bunch of bands. Not knocking this band, but they ripped off a great band mbv. so if curve got ripped off by garbage, its not that big of a deal.

  • Ehhh, Can you hear the bass? Distinguish the vocals - lyrics etc, and generally the whole tone? Or listened to Cuckoo and subsequent albums? By your 'ripping off' thing MBV would sound like Garbage...as we know they don't. Try Secret Shine's "Liquid Inigo" for a MBV 'rip-off'

  • Curve are/were an awesome band, I got to see the Rollecoaster tour with Blur instead of them, F*ck lol. I'd have pedalled me ticket to go see the one with Curve. Awesome, I loved the techno-ish element, Curve ftw!

  • CURVE: the original, the masters

    Garbage: cheap knockoff

Garbage got rich, CURVE became legends

  • You realise they're actually not identical bands right? Hence, whilst Garbage may have taken some inspiration from Curve (which is they case with most bands - they're not formed in a vacuum) they ended up developing their own sound. The similarities are only superficial once you've listened to both bands enough... So it doesn't have to be either/or, I'm a big fan of both.

  • Never said they were identical. Garbage could not come close in comparison to CURVE. So many people compare the two bands, there is NO comparison.

Curve will be spoken of many years from now, while Garbage will be but an afterthought.

  • @LiberateThisWill thats the right attitude.

  • @LiberateThisWill : I know, I grow tired of the comparisons as well. But, did you know that Butch Vig BEGGED Curve to let him produce one of their albums? I like Garbage, but they were always a singles band. You buy one of their albums and 2 or 3 songs are fantastic. But with Curve, the whole album is incredible. The beats are harder. The production is superior. The vocals are beyond reach. Don't get me wrong, Shirley is wonderful, but there is only one Toni. Period.

  • @skrason The Garbage' albums are more diverse and the production is superior. Their first two albums are solid gold.

  • I'm not overly familiar with either band, but I've listened to a few of each bands songs. I think Garbage have more shades of light and dark rather than over relying on the dark. Also, Garbage had a bit more of a sexy feel, which would automatically resonate with more people. They are influenced, no doubt, but probably better in many ways. That is the evolution of music.

  • @duchovny2 You definitely don't know Garbage enough to judge them this way.

  • They still talk about Curve my friend, they are legends. Most people will tell you the same thing, Garbage is a pale comparison. I've listened to Garbage, only to cleanse my ears with the sounds of Curve. Note also that when the game Frequency came out years ago for the PS2, CURVE was one of the groups included in the soundtrack. Of course, Garbage had a song on the follow up, Amplitude. BTW I'd rather listen to great music, so no I dont listen to Garbage.

  • There is no comparison between Garbage and Curve because they are two very different bands I still don't understand why many people like you like to compare them. Probably just because Garbage became famous and Curve didn't, so it's better to diss Garbage than admit that recording companies suck, isn't it?

Seriously. Garbage are a great band, they have got a unique sound and a unique attitude to music.

But I have to admit you seemed opinionated until you talked about soundtracks. Shame.

  • @duchovny2 Congrats on your OPINION. That being the objective word. Maybe instead of dissing other bands you could just talk about how and why this one is good though? Are you a troll or a Curve fan, is the question.

  • @BREAKMEKNEES I dont know is your mother the crack whore I saw in the alley last night? Why not keep your ignorant OPINION to yourself? No one asked for yours.

  • best band ever!!! Toni/Dean you'll live on forever! My bandmate had a polaroid photo of him and Toni back in 91...was well jealous...best industrial/rock/pop/wotever ever!

  • @duchovny2 For me, Curve are much better than Garbage that's for sure ;)

  • @duchovny2

    Bollox

  • @duchovny2 ......Yeah......Garbage live was "self described!"

  • @duchovny2 Settle down.

  • @duchovny2 Bull$hit! Both bands are great so shut your mouth!

  • Still one of my favorite bands. But my fav album was "gift"

  • They don't make them like they used to!

  • An Amazing track!

This girl is a legend and I love her singing, but, in my opinion, she'll never be a patch on "Our Shirley."

  • Such a great song,

    shame...compared to the others,your

    sound's not very good.

    CD version btw.,is better than

    this single version.

  • it's weird how our tastes in music takes us down the same routes in YouTube.

Consider this - I was listening to a few songs [Black Hole Sun being one of them]. I ended up on Echobelly where one comment said that a man in the video was in the black hole sun video. A few clicks later im here and notice a comment that someone had just been listenting to Echobelly.

Wonder what songs people head onto after this? I'm personally heading off to Mansun.

PS: Awesome song by the way!

  • oh my god, my ex was telling me about black hole sun so i watched it last week, and mansun tax loss what a tune great minds think alike xxx

  • this is my favourite song, the title is the most important words to happiness if you can find fait accompli then you hve your answer, xxxx

  • She's hot.

  • Curve stood head and shoulders above the other shoe gazing crap and Toni Halliday was sex on a stick.

  • Oh aye!

  • I'm 21 and I don't think this was ever emo. They're closer to Medicine and Catherine Wheel imo.

and I don't think kids my age listened to emo, unless I'm the only one who never did. I still like the good old 90s music back.

  • I see Debbie Smith in this vid. I just finished watching an Echobelly video, so the reference is inevitable.

  • If you;re a fan of Debbie, she's in 3 other bands at the mo.

    SPC-ECO

    The Nuns

    Wrapped In Plastic

  • ehhh i forgot what fait means!! man now this thought's going to be lingering in my head the whole night till i rememer haha

  • "fait accompli" translates to "known fact".

  • thanks although i had something else in mind haha. (Y)

  • a lot of crap on the radio is not worth listing to.Bands like curve ,garbage.Where ahead of their time.

  • Curve was an awesome band, albeit for a short duration. However, to say they were not important (uabazz), is to forget the more popular artists who took Curves sound and ran with it, ie Garbage, Rob Zombie, Bush to a certain extent. Husker Du was never a popular band, but without them, there is no Green Day, Nirvana. Chris Cornell even gave the Huskers props on their influence on many of the Seattle bands of the late 80's.

  • Curve. The greatest ever. All else is nothing.

  • The early 90's fucking rocked with loads of shit hot bands like curve.
