  • Reader Rabbit was my hero as a child. He taught me everything that I needed to know. I was the first one who knew how to read in my grade one class because of him. :)

  • I remember this game from when I was a kid (~4). I must have played it a million times. It's hard to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if it helped me a little learning how to read, though I recall that I always used to cheat on the reading by just flipping through the pages.

  • Who lions had feelings?

  • I still have these games too....sadly i recently tried to see if I could install it on my new laptop for nostalgia's sake but it wont work with it :( I'm 20 and I'd still play it if it would work lol

  • everything I remember

  • I miss my childhood :(

  • I have the older version of the game. I think its version 1.

  • for some reason i think games back then were more fun than the ones now.

  • I am not sure if it was a Reader Rabbit, but there was this game with a rabbit character that went to place to place and did games. I checked all the games reader rabbit has, non of them are the one i used to play.

  • Just a fun fact, the mouse is my voice! :) I provided the voice for Mat the Mouse for many years! Thanks for posting this, it was really fun to hear it again! :)

  • @shadowpal2 No problem. :)

  • you know.. I really wish i hadn't found this. I used to love these games as a kid, but now that I've grown older, I would get bored so quickly playing this despite the nostalgia..

  • i remember this game. it makes m want to play that game again. "where did i put this old cd?"

  • i cant believe i still have my reading rabbit game. i have 2nd grade reading one. too bad i cant play it any more. if apple kept there classic environment i could remember my childhood. unless it was made after osx 10 was released.

  • OHHH I REMEMBER THIS

  • I think I played this while I was in Pre-School. Can you upload ore game play clips of this game, please?

  • @GirlKirbyZombie I will get on it as soon as possible. :)

  • Reader Rabbit is engraved in my soul. Anyone remember the mini game where you helped the raccoon cook food, and you put together things such as eggs, carrots, and asparagus, and it made something like, spaghetti? And then if you tried putting stuff together that made sense, it'd turn to mush and the monster that lived under the counter would eat it?

  • @randompocketsand yeah! I specifically remember that part. I remember one of the words was zookini (apparently I was wasting my time playing that game cuz I still dont know how to spell zookini)

  • whats that one cald when the mouse has to get suplies for camping

  • omg... I miss my childhood.

  • Hey. Does anyone know if you can play Reader Rabbit games on Windows vista?

  • @kjw41309 Yeah. It bites that my XP broke due to a virus a while ago and now I have Windows Vista. But I wish my Reader Rabbit games were capadible with Windows Vista. I have like almost all the old ones; what a waste now. :(

  • Anyone remember a song from Reader Rabbit that a cat sang in a bedroom i think? Don't completely remember it but it went something like this.

In my kitty corner of the world a clever kitty, cause i know just what to do. In my kitty corner of the world a clever kitty will open her briefcase for you. Laptop computer with a built in motor. Phone and fax, to relax, a copy of the wallstreet journal. I will analyze it and extract the ?, with my tail completely curled. In my kitty corner of the world.

  • I have no fucking idea why Youtube recmmended this to me, but i remember this game so much lol

  • I HAVE THE FUCKING DOS VERSION ON 5.25 FLOPPIES

  • I have this game!

  • i love this game when i was little...

  • I had a collection of Reader Rabbit games when I was little (it included this game too). Now they're with my 5-year-old cousin.

  • You know, I'm sure about over 18, 000 people who have viewed this video are so damn lucky that I uploaded it becasue I may be the only person who still has Reader Rabbit games to this day. So, I really don't care what YOU say. Keep your rude comments to yourself.

  • lol

  • that is true and i rate 5 stars! i also have this game too! those were the days...

  • @ReaderRabbitFan09 Yeah, I have to admit, a couple times now, I've been hit with this sudden, yet very intense urge to revisit the old learning PC games I had as a kid. I can't remember all of them, but I have some really suprisingly vivid memories of RR's Math Adventure 6-9. I was so angry at my mother for giving them away the first time this happened, because now she doesn't remember who she gave them away to.

  • @ReaderRabbitFan09 Don't feel alone, I still got mine. :) (RR1.0, RR Interactive reading journey [might be the sequel to the one in this vid], Math Journey [ this program had a different version of POP & Tally cat along with Mat], RR's Second Grade, & one I found an ISO of online [it was a math-based program involving "Pi-rats" & escaping a desert island])

Excluding the ISO I found, I was brought up on Mostly Reader Rabbit along with other programs. :D

  • @ReaderRabbitFan09 I still have Reader Rabbit games and I still love them! :D

  • Man I remember playing this game when I was in 1st and 2nd grade along with a whole bunch of jump start CD's... Man this brings back sooo many great childhood memories..

  • i remember playing this on windows 98 lol i got windows 7 now

  • aw man this takes me way back to when i was really little and only played these games on computer

  • NOSTALGIA

  • i have this game.but it dosent work.i like the beging were reading rabbit was riding the magic carpet.

  • holy crap back in grd 1,2 corlis public school this was all we played

  • i used play that all the time

  • Just curious, what type of computer are you using? I was thinking about playing this again the other day, but I don't think it would be compatible with today's computers.

  • it definetally is. except you might want to get a disk thats like brand new. because half my old games i put in the computer and they would like do weird ccolor things, freeze, and be unplayable, then i got the same exact game off ebay, brand new and it worked like a charm. and he has windows XP, which isnt new, but they are really popular, so they are still making them. but with some updates and better systems than the ones in 2003

  • I'm using Windows XP, but this reader rabbit is capatible with Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, and Vista. And Mac as well, but I'm not which versions though.

  • Wow, good times, good memories!

  • I remember they gave us those games for free at school (When I was in elementary school lol)

  • I wish I was you. XD

  • i taught myself how to read and write with this
