Ok I've read comments about it being computer animated... It featured on our local news some weeks ago & it WAS in a room with people standing next to it adjusting piping, then it showed it working.... Perhaps the original one was animated, then someone decided to make a real one??? It's incredible

I love how all of this could be possible. the Vibe fountain is a little doubtful to me because directing all those balls through that one funnel without a complex channel system in the funnel would hardly work. also multiple solenoids or motors would be required to fit in that funnel to make harmony work. i don't like how the piping merges at points.

What impresses me most is the first few bits of it on that little guitarlike thing. They were able to compose something that sounded really good where if one string was hit, it would bounce and hit another string immediately after. It must have been really hard to compose with that limitation. I also love the part with the bells. It sounds so creepy-beautiful. I'm wondering, if someone wanted to actually build this, would they need the bells to retract in and out of the ceiling?

Someone DID build this and while it doesn't have all the shiny colors of the Animusic original, it is very impressive that the entire concert is triggered by real paint balls ejected by computers from special launchers. They replicated the entire Pipe Dream set down to every last instrument.

To get the balls to land on the string at just the right angle every time, to have the cowbells stop at just the right place so it bounces off and goes into the holes, that would be very hard.
