I don't know where Plymouth was with this car but I do know for a fact that engine is a 1st generation 392 CHRYSLER Hemi. Ive owned and ran them. Note where the ignition is.
@xXLoVeRandHaTeRXx Nitromethane is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH3NO2. It is the simplest organic nitro compound. It is a slightly viscous, highly polar liquid commonly used as a solvent in a variety of industrial applications such as in extractions, as a reaction medium, and as a cleaning solvent. As an intermediate in organic synthesis, it is used widely in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, explosives, fibers, and coatings.
And then, sometime in early 1965, Baney made a deal with Scott to run their new (worthless piece of shit) low-profile bug-catcher injectors. What really pissed me off was Lou's decision to strap on the Scott system, for the first time, during a Match Race, at Lions, with The Snake. I KNEW those of us pulling for the Yeakel car were screwed, and I was right. The motor went "south" all night long with the Scott system on top of the GMC 6-71 and we never won a race that night.
The Yeakel Plymouth Special was my favorite top fuel car in late 1964 and into 1965. That's when Tom McEwen (Mongoose) was driving, Lou Baney was running the deal and John Garrison was turning the wrench. This car may be equipment correct for the beginning but when McEwen was setting top speed records at Lions during late '64 and into 1965 (214.00 was the best I remember) they were not running the Hilborne injectors but the 3-hole Enderle bug-catcher injectors.
You are not nuts to do that, this is how it started back then.Rear engine dragsters to me are boring. These are much more fun to watch, this is a real (SLINGSHOT)
Lol would look even more nuts when you do a weight comparison. Frame+Tires=X Compared to just the engine in weight lol. Bet the engine would weight more haha.
to my experience putting a 460 keith black hemi fully blown into a 17 foot demerics hydro. and have the high speed lean out hooked up is a lot better then racing down the payvement.. H20-get em wet
@biggdaddy2001 the nitromethanal fuel is different from the nitromethane used in race cars and boat.. and you wont be able to start the rc car with pure nitro fuel
@HEMIdoctor i wouldnt say 30 dollars. i can buy nitromethane for about 15 a gallon but yea its too expensive so i run m1 racing fuel. 10 dollars a gallon with out the additive
these days you can put what you want into anything ,,i see fords in cheys and bbc in mustangs etc.i would shoe horn that motor into a chevette for fuck sakes ,,get creative people.

a bit slower is ok ,at least you will live to see 60 ,that old school tub is not that safe chief.thats why they went to rear engine,,,,or did you forget????not to mention it looks silly as hell chief.Go ahead and jam that mill in a 69 nova and run with the big boyz in the outlaw street class.
@iamcyberpunk68 put that mill in ur 69 see how far you'll get by NHRA and IHRA for rules and regulations, dont think they would allow something like that on the track unless proven otherwise, there's already a pro modified injected nitro camaro in ADRL they gave him a hard time letting him run that thing, what makes you think it be so easy in an outlaw street class?
Mopar engines go in mopar cars. Bowtie engines go in Bowtie cars. Blue Oval engines go in Blue Oval cars. If you manage to mix this shit up, you're just a bonehead and need to get the hell off the 1320 before you kill a car.
