@MsPandaRosa - Never made that connection, but you are right, now that I listen to it. Funny.
My daughters believer that Saint-Saens 'Aquarium' from his "Carnival of the Animals" is the beginning music in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". I've played both and explained the music was influenced by French composers but they insist its the same piece. Oh well, I'm just glad they're listening.
I love Maestro Simon's interpretation of the tempo changes in this piece. They all tie together in this movement so well - from the bouncy initial theme to the almost improptu echoes of variations in the interior - it tells a stunningly complete tale. The rich colors of the orchestra are well represented in this reading.
Tienes un día apagado, melancólico, tristón no importa, te tomas una buena ración de La primavera de Respighi...¡y recobras la alegría! :))

Still makes me think of Disney's "Pocahantas" even 50 years before the film. Some things just fit together.

Thank you! So beautful. And not much heard or performed these days. Time for a revival of interest in this genial composer ...
