  • You can't beat ewf !! September and lets groove tonight awesome hits..

  • LOL Thanks comedy central... I liked thsong before but it reminded me of it :)

  • Fucking brilliant. Never fails to put the biggest smile on my face. :D

  • All artists are assisted in their performance....be it by accoustics, EQ, Pitch adjustments, etc...I suppose the question is just to what degree...where you want to draw an arbitrary line...as for EWF...I think they have master performance after 40 years of doing!

  • The tempo is a little bit faster then normal

  • @jensssen

no I was at one of their concerts in the 1996 in Detroit and its right...Maurice White wanted a party pace for his live acts and tone it down at TV shows.....

  • 80 people must not be dancing in September lol

  • its September !! ba de ya..

  • have they had the same clothes on for 30 years. time for a wash.

  • Maurice White is the best "lead singer" for EWF...when he left because of health issue EWF lost its fire...

  • that tech is just for singing in tune..but this artist created their music without tech..that is why they are awesome!!.they use those kind of tech for concert..cuz singing for more than an hour would really mess up your singing..

  • Wow!!!!I love EWF.... when music was music and brought joy

  • lol people from the age off 17 years love,s this wieeeerd???

  • Songs like this will never die. I'm 16 and love it.

  • Well i for one dont see anything wrong with auto tune used in the right contexts. E.g. Daft punk.

  • im a 17 year old straight guy from the uk who listens to such bands as the foo fighters and radiohead etc...so why the FUCK am i loving this? Oh yeah cuz ther freakin awesome :D

  • @michaelsmith1993: Good on yer, mate! They ARE freakin' awesome.

  • @michaelsmith1993 sorry but if youre from the uk why is your spelling so shit?

  • @lucatalamona16 oh how terribly sorry I am. "I'm a seventeen year old heterosexual male from the United Kingdom who usually listens to such bands as 'The Foo Fighters' and 'Radiohead' I therefore propose the question of why do I love this song ever so much? The answer to this riddle is that they are rather awesome" is that better? (by the way i spell things like dat on purpose :))

p.s. it's erm technically "you're" not your if u wana play that game ;D

  • @michaelsmith1993 I'm a 42 yo straight UK guy who listens to Radiohead , Foo Fighters etc , when you get to my age you'll find the reason is great music is great music whatever your age or anal activity choices

  • Yup. This kicks their asses

  • @michaelsmith1993 Well i'm straight too, but why does that matter? I like Queen and Judas Priest as well.

  • @Drescher1984 your the definition of why people shouldn't be PC aha, im not sayin it does but this song is an extremely camp song so i guess more gay guys in proportion to straight guys like it. im also from the uk but nobody complained about that being irrelevant...

  • @michaelsmith1993 Well then why did you need to say that you are straight? Gay or straight, good music is good music(I know you like the song). All i'm saying is, why did you feel the need to say that you straight?

  • @michaelsmith1993 i do have some sort of the same problem... xD

  • lo máximo!!!!

  • the guitarist at 2:00 hahahahaha hahahah

  • Quando avevamo venti anni

  • If you like Nu Diso and good Bass lines then type in 'Vanilla Gorillaz Wilderbeast' for an awesome track!!

  • This should be played at the September 11 memorial day, it'll make everyone cheer up. :)

  • @FiddyDiddy96 .... lol that is a horrible idea.. do u remember 21st night of september Love was changing the minds of pretenders While chasing the clouds away.... the total oppisite of what happened lol.. too soon?

  • I was raised during this era i agree this is real music. i have two boys and i introduce them to this kind of music all the time .Journey, styx, zepplin, ewf, etc....

  • good old times! i wish i was born there :(

  • Who is the white guitar player???

  • Best ever rendition of "September" by E,W&F in a Live Concert.

  • @postprandialzen No, you are the true retard here, sorry. This excerpt was taken from Wikipedia "It [auto-tune] is used to disguise off-key inaccuracies and mistakes, and has allowed singers to perform apparently perfectly tuned vocal tracks without needing to sing in tune". I, for once, refuse to let the f**king so-called artists off easy with this. Music is an Art. Performing Music is performing Art. And no, listening to some artificially tuned voice is NOT Art by any standard.

  • @hereiam2005 it is art to some people who enjoy that style of msuic

  • @hereiam2005 So I am assume you feel the way same way about EQ's, tuned speakers and accoustics and anything that enhances or alters the presentation to the listener. Sorry...not there with you on this one!!!

  • @jawalter56 The equipment is not the point he is trying to make here. He is saying that many 'artists' take shortcuts on learning to perform, and appreciating what it is to make music.

  • @jawalter56 LOL I had no idea what you talked about, I had to look for that on the internet ^_^

No, my comment and feeling is specific to auto-tune, as well as personal, i am not trying to convince anyone. But comparing it to equalizer or amplifier (as in electric instruments) is so far fetched I was taken aback when I see your comment!

It takes skills to perform art. If performing an art was made so easy that even I could perform better that the artist, what is the point? Is it art anymore?

  • @jawalter56 Amplifier, or electronic instruments, on the other hand, take skills to use, and in that, I could see the aesthetic appeal, and I could give it a sense of respect too - not some kind of manufactured commercial product. In today music, people give a great deal of emphasis on the performer's appearance, the music video, and others things, a lot more than the music itself. All such things can be manufactured. I think the only thing that left is the skill - the voice, in particular.

  • @jawalter56 Take EWF for example. If I see them on the street, I personally do not find them very noticeable. But on the stage, when they take their instruments, their microphone, when they begin to sing, they are so magnificent, so captivating - its truly art. I do not care of their personality, their religion, their belief, it does not matter, the stage is their world - and I am being invited!

As said, this is only my personal belief I wanted to share, I do not try to be correct to anyone.

  • @hereiam2005

There are people who use autotune solely to give an effect.

  • @hereiam2005 Well, I'd argue that some of the art still comes from the producer, at least for modern songs. In a song like this the art is all performer. But for a song by, say, Owl City, most of the art is created through the skillful manipulation of the original performance.

Anyways, I wouldn't say that "autotuned music is not art". It's just that the art is derived from good post-production, not good performers. A song with autotune can sound good or bad, as can an un-autotuned song.

  • Good song. I miss September.

  • inolvidable que ritmo

  • Don't know about the greatest band of all time, that's a mater of taste. I love the big sounds, and the vocals present in their music but if you go back to big band sounds they're the forerunners of music surrounded by big sounds. Their main bass is surrounded by larger sounds using wind instruments just like EWF. The accompaniment back then was in the form of tenor sax as oppoesd to the electric guitar that EWF uses. The biggest difference is the soul thats present in EWF.

  • It's 12:20am, I have no idea how I got here, but I sure as hell am glad I found this. Real musicians, real groove, no auto-tune.

  • Quite Simply,the greatest band ever,fantastic !!!!

  • my son is learning how to play bass. Told him to use this guy as a role model for live bass playing. Everybody on the stage is moving to the low end bass & drummer. And everybody in the audience is doing the same!!!!

  • yo it really sounds like kevin Bond on keys.....and Jeremy Haynes on drums, especially at 2:57 and 3:24 lol...

  • This is my jam!!

  • @JerryOfPerth he needs malanin! seriously - it facilitates nerve function / mobility. That's why black people can dance better, better athletes etc. sunlight is good for you in moderation - very good!

  • @JerryOfPerth I know. I have a feeling that my classmates won't like the past as much as me. But now, I love some 70's, lots of 80's and 90's, and 2000-2003 songs. Don't really care much for the future anymore (meaning 2004-present). But hey, I'm an easy-goer. Whatever it is that I like, I love it. It's my opinion. :)

  • Why couldn't we play this in school? xD
