This is just so..... My late father was a jazz man especially louis for the last 60 years, I had only heard this peice in High Society (of which Louis appeared) but this is the real thing
Although i am against smoking, it does seem to improve the voice in a way. Nat King Cole said it improved his voice. The irony was that he died from lung cancer
I am by no means an authority, but I don't think that the Saxophone figures too heavily into Dixieland bands. The 'exception' I guess being the Soprano Sax, which in Dixieland usage is basically a clarinet subsitute.
Tha's the same song Bing Crosby sang with Louis Armstrong in the 1955 movie "High Society" also starring Sinatra and Grace Kelly(available on DVD with high quality video and audio))
man im only 16, but it does my heart really good to see people like this anyone who knows more artist's from this era plz message me, i am a amuter boxer n my trainer turned me to this, n i like it
i'm 15. i can't stand rap, but i love metal, but i can't stand it when people are fixed on one type of music they see as superior. i love metal, jazz, blues, reggae, indie, classic rock, and it goes on...
yeah people need to see more than just one type of music, but u have to notice the fact that practically everyone blames rap for "the downfall" of USA n its rlly not lol
I don't understand why felt the need to state your age in your comment. Good music is timeless, and your age shouldn't be relevant to your enjoyment of any type of music.
BRILLIANT performance. The call and response with Trummy Young was fantastic. By the time you finish watching, you feel that you've bene given the recipe for playing Jazz. And you feel you're immediately well equipped to pick up any instrument and perfectly fit into a Jazz band. Even if you haven't played a note in your life. Louis Armstrong and his All Stars were magicians. Fantastic stuff!
Thanks to you,and YouTube to keep my heart alive every second of my life, listening and watching them...there is no lost for anything..its only a god blessing to see them yet, this way. They wont imagine it,for sure.-MAX
Thank You for posting the All-Star videos. These are great, and I wish you would tell us more about Trommy Young, please. When did you meet him? He seems like a really nice guy.

love this clip...but where was the sax? How can you have jazz without a saxophone? It was still great to see pops though, as always!
