George Lucas may be a good writer, but he's a terrible director. Keep in mind that Empire and Jedi (the movies that really cemented the cult status of the franchise) were NOT directed by Lucas but by Irvin Kershner. A lot people seem to forget that.
I think that's why Ep 1, 2, 3 felt our of place and not quite what we were hoping for. Lucas made too many wrong decisions, and keep making them by constantly adding more "NOOOO"s to Vader with every new version.

It's not about that he changed the movies, it's the KIND of changes he made. I actually loved the new Victory Celebration scene at the end of Jedi. I loved the new theme, and well... to have young Anakin in there, the way he looked before he became Sith, kinda makes sense (It's really Hayden C. I have a problem with) But WTF... Greedo shooting first?? And another "NOOO" from Vader? Apparently Lucas has always intended Vader to be a whiny bitch. Come on now.

Here are the problems people have with the prequels:
1.) They keep comparing them to the Original Star Wars trilogy, which is unfair.
2.) They keep comparing it to what they want them to be, which is rediculous.
Are they as good as the Originals? No. But the Originals are three of the greatest films of all time, very few films are as good as them. Are they the way we imagined them? No. It's George's story, not yours! You guys have had enough Pizza Rolls
The overall story lacks structure and is all over the place. Each prequel keeps introducing and killing off characters without any development or arc; the characters were just put in for the "cool" factor so Lucas could sell more action figures. Anakin's turn to the Dark Side was sudden, contrived and not believable.
Finally. That over-rated hack has been poisoning the movie industry with his crappy historically-fraudulent movies for far too long.

The prequels and the originals both combine to make a spectular masterpiece. The originals inspire us while the prequels add to that inspiration. There is no need for Lucas to make anymore Star Wars films, because the saga is already complete. Any other storylines revolving around Lucas' original ideas should just stay part of the Expanded Universe. George Lucas is one of the best modern storytellers!

Much as I love Star Wars I believe that 6 films is all we and Lucas needed to get the whole story. I know there are people who wish to be informed of events beyond the Saga, but that's what we have the expanded universe for. I'd say Lucas deserves a break from the epic, big budget blockbusters. He's earned his niche in film lore, and despite a few questionable decisions he still has my respect. To this day I remain a fan of the entire saga, and that's not gonna change. More power to ya, George!
Pretty sure we have as much right to hate his current works as you do for liking them. And yes, he did create the original star wars (+10 points) as we as Jar-Jar Binks (-20 points). He needs to allow other directors to use the license and he needs to lower his monetary expectations for the 19 episodes of the tv show he has made, so that he can get a distributor.

Here are the problems people have with the prequels:
1.) They keep comparing them to the Original Star Wars trilogy, which is unfair.
2.) They keep comparing it to what they want them to be, which is rediculous.

The overall story lacks structure and is all over the place. Each prequel keeps introducing and killing off characters without any development or arc; the characters were just put in for the "cool" factor so Lucas could sell more action figures. Anakin's turn to the Dark Side was sudden, contrived and not believable.

The prequels and the originals both combine to make a spectular masterpiece. The originals inspire us while the prequels add to that inspiration. There is no need for Lucas to make anymore Star Wars films, because the saga is already complete. Any other storylines revolving around Lucas' original ideas should just stay part of the Expanded Universe. George Lucas is one of the best modern storytellers!

Much as I love Star Wars I believe that 6 films is all we and Lucas needed to get the whole story. I know there are people who wish to be informed of events beyond the Saga, but that's what we have the expanded universe for. I'd say Lucas deserves a break from the epic, big budget blockbusters. He's earned his niche in film lore, and despite a few questionable decisions he still has my respect. To this day I remain a fan of the entire saga, and that's not gonna change. More power to ya, George!

He needs to allow other directors to use the license and he needs to lower his monetary expectations for the 19 episodes of the tv show he has made, so that he can get a distributor.

In an interview b4 he changed his mind lucas said that in one of those movies luke would temporarily turn to the darkside. Did u know that owen lars was supposed to be ben kenobis brother and thats why they look similar? It was also the reason why owen didnt like kenobi cuz he took off while he stayed on the farm.
