  • I've never heard a guy hock a loogie in a metal song before!:)

  • Any reccomendations for DAWs on PC?

  • Hey ola,

do you use the simulate power amp and cab option when recording? Or do you have a seperate power amp that you couple with the axe fx?

  • @fearedse Hi Ola, i dont know if its only me or else but, are you always use this not-so-gainy tone? It's cool but, don't you think you need more gain?

  • @azhariwarman yeah right lets drown everything in gain and bass, who the fuck needs mids or something else, because isn't that what metal is all about?

  • @742617044427 I was just asking him about a lil thing. Why he choose this kind of tone and i didn't even say it's bad. And you reply with "fuck","metal is all about?" Fuh, what an angry world i live in.

  • @azhariwarman dude relax

    can't take a joke huh?

  • @742617044427 Haha i'm relax man. But still funny you tell me to relax :P

  • @azhariwarman no seriously now to come back to your problem with his gain, I think he has enough gain, his sound is crisp and fat. I think what you miss is the high end, because on this one Ola didn't use so much treble and presence in his guitar sound

  • @742617044427 Hahaha yup okay man. Maybe the treble, cause his tone not bright enough for me in this one.

  • @azhariwarman yeah as always when it comes to guitar sound or whatever it's always a matter of taste ;)

  • Well, with comments saying, "You have the same tone in every demo." or " You make the amps sound all the same." Can only mean 1 thing...Ur tone death. If you listen to Ola's 14 amp demo, has them edited one after another, and u say they sound the same, or have the same tone..Ur 100% tone death. On some of the demo's, he does a play through, where he is pushing switches, turning knobs, etc, while he's playing. Save yourself a lot of money and buy a practice amp. U won't hear a difference.

  • @taztherocker1 Deaf*

  • @1metalhead238 lol- oops!

  • Same tone out of everything you demo. Obviously you have your own unique sound and it works for you but it would be nice to hear different tones from different kinds of sub genres. Even if you arent particularly fond of the different kinds of tones out there, you should try to show people whether or not an amp can handle the job. Short clips with different settings would suffice. Just sayin bra!

  • superb!!

  • What's with people asking the same questions. If your interested in something read up on it. Google is your friend.

I usually like these vids but the tone dialed in hear dosn't sound much different than your HT5 vid lol.

  • intro riff reminds me of roadrunner united - the dagger.

    cool sounds though!!!

  • so if i buy this i can make recordings like this? this is all i need?

  • i have a couple questions, does this thing need a cab or what? how do you run it to get sound if not? can it be used for live tones?

  • "No post processing on the guitars. What you hear is what you're getting in the preset file!"

this is where line 6 lacks as far as im concerned

  • 2,000 $ sounds like a some cheap 800$ cab with a 400$ head... with some pedals.

    Just saying..

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 sounds like somones listening to this through shitty speakers

  • @742617044427 And you have 2000$ speakers?

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 first of all find me 2000$ speakers and second I listen to this through my referece headphones

  • @742617044427 I wanna hear this thing for real... Wish more GC's carried these, but i won't be convinced until i have one in my hands.

Also, i don't really got the resources to buy this anyways, who the hell would? I know this is just a review, but i wanted to be impressed by the sound, it's good, but not 2000$ good, same thing i say for gibsons, I'm more focused on getting my crappy playing better anyways. :P

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 I think it's worth the money, because in my opinion nothing nails the midrange and dynamics of these amps like the axe and I own a pod hd 500 and I think it sounds good, but the axe just sounds better. for me it's a lot in the midrange which makes an amp sound good and punch through the mix

  • can you make more vids of the axe fx2 with different amp sims?

  • hey ola , how about a video with firmware 3.04 ?

  • WORLD FUCKING EATER. Been hooked to this song since the Natas video!!!

  • hey, man. i have a really important question. hope you answer. lol. is your axe fx II directly connected straight to your computer and then just using the tone of the preamp or are you using a mic thats hooked up to your axe fx which is recording from an amp of yours? much appreciated if you answer. thanks.

  • Ordered Axe-Fx II yesterday, I count myself lucky if it arrives before next summer :D

  • I just got on the list, hope I get the axe soon, anyway, how do you use your axe live ola? do you use a solidstate power amp then connect it to a cab? have you tried the FRFR route?

  • vocal like Lamp Of God very nice

  • what pickup do you use now in the Solar 7?

  • Hi!

    Your amp demos are great!

Would you like to try Softube "Metal Amp Room" and discover metal capabillities of "Vintage Amp Room" some day?

i heard demos on their site, but there are very few sound demos of a good quality from users on youtube!

That would be great if you can show us what this thing is capable of!

  • Hi tried the link to download your Ola 5 Second Squirt" preset used in the video and it won't load . Thanks K

  • @klaushouz Works when I try to download it!

  • What are you tuned to?

  • I have an axe fx ultra, will this patch work on it, or would anyone be willing to message me the settings/chain?

  • @SeansMusicReviews No it will not. All presets on the Axe 2 are specific for that model only. They wont work on ultra or standard, and no standard or ultra patches will work on the axe 2.

  • hey mate, you don't seem to be really into black metal, but, do you think I could pull off a nice freezing shattering and modern black metal sound using the amps and the EQs in this beastie?

this sounds fckn brutal btw man \m/!!

  • I must say that tone, and guitar, is pretty beastly. Congrats. \m/-.-\m/ ahaha.

  • Ya.. ya know.. your tone is great and sounds brutal.. but you're not using enough knobs. Use more knobs. Be more original. Gorsh! Silly metalhead uses his expensive gear to get a metal tone.. psh.. how cliche!

  • Is it just me, or does this guy make every single thing he tests sound the same? Just kind of a predictable metal tone that leaves a lot to be desired.

  • @fredrand123 voila you have discovered "my" sound!

  • @fearedse Sexy Patch Ola!

I kinda changed it around a bit and used it in my Parkway Drive cover.

More stuff will be coming, I have a custom guitar being made right now so i'll put more stuff up when I have the guitar.

    Keep shreddin'!

  • @fredrand123 What's to be desired? It's his metal tone.. people work for years trying to find a sound that they like.

    L2 musicianship.

  • @gpburr This is of course completely subjective, but there's nothing unique about it. Sure, it sounds good, but when you're paying such large sums of money for the best equipment available, you should be better tailored to craft a more original tone, not something like this which is, while still good, nothing special. And yes, I understand the concept of "having your own tone". The point I was trying to make was that if these videos showcase potential sounds, why make every one sound the same?

  • @fredrand123 Well.. what do you want? A "metal" tone has certain properties.. Sure.. he could saturate it with 10 different effects, phasers, flangers, chorus, reverb. I just don't understand your point. Maybe he could make a demo vid called "all the crazy things i could do with my tone, but don't because it's impractical and stupid." would that make you happy?

  • @gpburr You're misinterpreting what I'm trying to say. There is, even in metal (believe it or not), some differentiation between tone. I personally like a really bright crunch. I'm not saying everyone should, it's just personally what I like. What I was really trying to get across is that he makes every single amp sound the same. I think it's great he found a tone that he likes. But why continue to display other gear with that exact tone? Why not experiment with different tones that amp can give

  • @fredrand123

Why should he experiment while his videos in sort of first line should also represent his songs, not offering us these unbelievable sneaks into unaffordable gear? You're idea of experimenting is not bad at all, but i guess, but it might work against the idea of Ola wanting to present HIS songs (which also include HIS sound ;) )

By the way, its remarkable how much the producer's style influences an amps "own sound" ;)

  • @fredrand123

I totally disagree. Ola has a definite style and signature tone, but I wouldn't call it predictable. If you can't distinguish between the tones he has in each video, your ears aren't trained well enough yet. Don't take that as an insult- take it as a suggestion to go back and pick up the differences. You learn a lot that way. :)

  • @fredrand123 any amp YOU play is gonna have its differences and simularities. simularities will be the way the eq section is, because thats YOUR taste. differences will just be the structure and actual tone of the amp itself. give me a marshall, a peavey, a mesa, or an engl, and ill natrually make them all sound the same, just because its the way that i prefer my amps to sound. same goes for everyone

  • Comment removed

  • @fredrand123 yeah i guess in a way, but its sorta about how hard it is to get the sound he is looking for and how much effort it takes to play the guitar to get that tone, watch him play the engl or 5150, its effort less. they all sound different to my ear

  • @fredrand123 I think he is showing that you can get a great Metal tone with practically any amp.

  • @fredrand123 He got his own sound yes. But it is not like, you cant hear the difference on the various gear.

  • @fredrand123

I agree with you on that one. That's why I like the playthrough videos the best because it's just a raw guitar tone. I don't think actually mixing these tracks is a good demonstration of the tone of these amps.

  • @fredrand123 You come to hear a metal tone and you're supprised when you hear one? Are you serious?

  • @fredrand123 I think its a beautiful tone. Nothing wrong with a predictable metal tone, if you're playing metal

  • Hello Ola. I'm currently using dual rectumfrier reborn (3 channels 50/100 watt selector, modern/ vintage/ raw) . In your honest, opinion, does this axe 2 contraption reach the saturated, yet clear super heavy gain of the Mesa? With love, Mr Smasher.

  • @GoreSmasher He sold his dual recto because of this...there's your answer :D

  • NO WHY WHY COMMERCIAL D:

  • Brilliant and brutal tone!!! ...Which amp was used to record the first Feared album, Ola, by the way?

  • Oh how guitar tone has evolved so much. This technology is fucking badass. Lol

  • I'd buy it!

  • Man that is one badass guitar, and..THAT TONE!!

  • hi there, could i use this straight into a PA., and does it have amp simulator?

  • my favourite feared song.

  • Sounds killer as usual! Love the new "sig" "7"

    very nice!!

  • Hej!

  • The guitar tone is unbelievable!! does this mean you dont want your axe fx standard? haha

  • Hey dude, In your opinion, is this worth having over the Axe Fx Ultra?

  • Even on my 80 euro sound set, this fucking mean tone gives chills across the spine. Goosebumps like crazy, this is AWESOME.

  • that's one mean tone!

  • hey mate, since the axe fx has a cabinet simulator, is it ok to use the preamp from a real valve amp (for example engl powerball 2) in front the axe fx and use the axe fx cabinet simulator as something like Recabinet 3 for recording? Many Thanks!

  • GIMME MORE VIDEOS DAMN IT!!!!!!!

  • Ola, there is a possibility that i may be in the market for an Axe Fx unit soon but i am tight on cash and i was wondering is it worth saving $1000 or the huge wait and buying a used Axe Fx Ultra for around $1700 or is it worth the time extra money for the Axe Fx II?

The lack of USB connectivity with the Axe Ultra shouldn't be a problem because i have a Tascam us-1641 interface.

Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

  • You should be in charge of reviewing every piece of gear ever. You do such an awesome job showing off the abilities of every amp/modeler you post clips of. The guys at Guitarworld should give you a job hahaha

  • Hi, Man I like your tone very much, even with the Axe FX II, need advise from you.

do you think it will work out good if I do this (PRS CUSTOM 24 - AXE FX II with some amp preset- Mesa single recto as power amp- CAB.

or can the AXE FX II be use as preamp direct to the cab for live performance.?

    thanks in advance.

  • @ZOLDADO25 hey dude, if you want to use it with a cab you will need a power amp of some sort. You can hook it up to the effect loop of your single rectifier and play that way.

  • @fearedse how are you running yours are your direct into a mesa cab im on the waiting list for an axe 2 but need to know the best way to run it cheers jak

  • @ZOLDADO25 You can also connect the axe fx directly to the board. Thats what Trivium, Periphery, Devin Townsend and other do too :)

  • @Erithlon ohh thanks man!! so i think this unit is worth the money, i have been saving to buy a new amp. a dual recto but i think i will cover up all my needs with the FRACTAL,

  • are those bose headphones i see?

  • Hi! may advise a good poweramp to use axe fx2 with 4x12 mesa speaker??? Thanks!

  • Do you still prefer half stacks/real amps to this?

  • I'll try the 5 second squirt preset in front of a girl...see if it works :))

  • @andreistoc i tried it, and it gave me an ass whoopin that made me have diarrhea within 5 seconds, not the squirt i was thinkin.

  • How does it compare to Ultra?

  • still cant get over how amazing the Axe Fx is. btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY

  • are those bose quiet comfort 15 headphones? do they sound good with the axe fx?

  • ola where we can buy the new album ? and what tuning here ?

  • Hey are u using this live ? ... or just recording situations -?¿? In that case, direct to line or are u using cabinets ?

  • ahh ...only happens in the fearse anyway supprisingly sounds like there getting closer and cloaser to a real amp sound

  • what is that white pedal you got over there? :D

  • @andreistoc by the looks of it i believe it is a boss ns-2

  • Does the Axe sound card sound better then if you hooked it up to your Apogee?

  • you connect the axe fx direct to the computer via usb?

  • @gjk200000 yes I'm using the axe as a sound card!

  • @fearedse do you not need impulses for the axe fx? like you used on the hd 300?

  • @fearedse hell yeah...and how much did it cost in euros?

  • I love it. Are there tabs for this?

  • Oh my god. I love you.

  • fractal should put Ola icon on the official site

  • you have some recording skills man honestly...i wasnt impressed at all with the sound without post processing but this is awesome

  • @hYpYz Apparently there is still no post processing. It just sits in the mix that well by itself.

  • Is it bad that I screamed at 0:11 because it sounded so good?

  • Didn't you mention you wouldn't buy an AxeFX 2?

  • @thelastview I did... but then the opportunity arose that I could cut in line and get one immediately. For the sake of doing Youtube videos it was a opportunity :)

  • @fearedse ok. How do you afford all these units? are they yours?

  • @basssungwoo about 90% of these amps are borrowed, and it also seems that he sells some guitars & amps over time to gain the advantage of buying something like the Axe2 (like selling his Axe standard, ect...)

  • @fearedse

Great to know you keep us in mind ;)

  • Didn't you mention you wouldn't buy an AxeFX 2?

  • that's it! im buying one

  • which expansion do you use for SD2.0?metal foundry or NY Avatar?

  • I so want one...I need to win the lotto damn quick too..Ohh and Ola TY for making the Orange IR....It sounds killer..Messin with it right now..Keep up the awesome Vids...

  • That tone is sex.

  • how would you compare the axe fx ultra to the axe fx 2 how much better are the tones

  • does this work good with only the Axe FX direcly to the PC and using headphones?

  • @OndskapensHersker The Axe Fx 2 has a headphone out so you won't need a comptuer or anything if you just want to jam around. /O

  • @OndskapensHersker Does it the headphone out sound as good as the speakers?

  • @OndskapensHersker Haha, how come I'm not shocked to find you here? :D

  • @Blixish

    haha. busted!

but really.. who doesn't enjoy this channel?

  • how much does the axefx 2 cost and does it come with its own cab?

  • @ilanzero The Axe is a preamp/multieffects, its not an amp, so, no cab.

In Europe, i believe its around 2200€

  • Ola where we can buy the new cd rejects ?

  • Do you think you'll be using this from now on for your projects?

  • So, are you convinced The Axe Fx II is better than the Axe Fx?

  • @DopeSick408 I need more time with it... but as of now It's not as big of a step that I would want it to be.

  • @fearedse you have to realize, theres not really any step ups to take, the axe fx ultra and II are THE BEST in amp modellers as of now.

  • @fearedse I see, The Engl Savage demo you did convinced me to take a big leap and buy one without trying it out, something id never do. But god damn that amp is seriously the best amp I have ever tried/owned, it really has its own shine.

  • @fearedse Hey, have you tried the new firmware 2.0 in it yet? I thought the difference was noticeable. Some nice improvements to my ear.

  • @fearedse Thanks for your honesty man, appreciated.

  • @bufon63 it's the truth.. right now if you compare it with a used Axe Fx(that goes VERY cheap nowadays) it's not worth getting it. The Axe Fx Standard/Ultra are still amazing units. People are so focused that they MUST get the newest because it's probably going to be LOADS better, but as of now it's not. But I bet that the Axe Fx 2 has much more to offer with the coming upgrades. So wait it out for now, come back in a year and get a used Axe 2 ;)

  • Glad you got an Axe II Ola, am loving mine ! Great preset too ;) Nice one and thx for the preset !

  • Whether a real amp or a modeler, Ola just knows how to dial it in for that crushing killer tone. Coupled that with his awesome chops, stuff just sounds "right" not only "killer". The man knows what he's doing for sure.

  • where the fuck you get the money or all this gear, every video i see a different amp or cab thats like 4grand each video more or less, are you rich? did you win the lottery or steal them lol

  • @MrGoth777 i think so that you didn"t read the descriptions of the other videos about the whole thing with the amp"s........

  • @Rockboyification in that case... im a jelous fuck xD

  • @MrGoth777 alot of the amps i believe he borrows to demo them. the dude for sure makes the best demos out of anyone out there on youtube. not only that, the dude is an awesome guitar player. makes bad ass riffs

  • @TheBlackDahlia815 indeed badass

  • @TheBlackDahlia815 thank you so much dude :D

  • @MrGoth777 haha I wish I would win the lottery dude, but as some other guy mentioned. All amps are borrowed in one way or another.

  • @fearedse If you'd get a krona every time someone asks you how can you afford all those amps, you'd be a millionaire in no time! :D

  • @fearedse honestly i think if anyone of us won the lottery thats what we would all spend it on...shit loads of amps, cabs n guitars. thanks for all the tutorials bro

  • awesome song ola. how is the axe fx 2?

  • Tell me, could the new Exe Fx be the end all of purchasing any new amps :-) Seems like this thing has just about everything you would ever need.

  • @fearedse I see you got the new Axe-fx 2 Ola. :) This preset sounds pretty good for only having the Axe-fx 2 a day although I'd add a little more highs just saying. How do you compare to the Axe-fx 1 Standard version? Or is it too early to tell? If you still have the Axe-fx 1 with you I'd like to see a comparison to see if there's any difference in sound quality but if you don't then oh well. Keep it up with the great vids. :)

  • Fucking amazing as always..... keep 'em coming ola!

  • what kind of headphones are you using to mix? Also how exactly are you hooking up the AFII. Im assuming USB, but are you using the input 1/2 as the way to hear things?

  • This makes my months and months on the waiting list ever worse!

  • looks like your wearing pig-tails

  • too bassy...

  • @Hellraiserzzz agreed

  • @Hellraiserzzz What kind of mesa preset would it be if we werent drowning in bass, besides its still tolerable in 1080p. Outb4 nasty Mesa troll.

  • I LOVE the intro riff!!!!

  • I Love This Song...Ola This Will Be My Next YT Cover..U Want Or Not ;)

  • 1.49 = epic phlegm ;D

  • Where we can buy the new album man ? upload a link if its possible...

  • Best tone you've gotten yet.

  • Hey man what pickups you have in this guitar ?

  • Comment removed

  • Its saturday and the Englund says 'Strike a pose!'

  • ola, make sure we can see what u are playing next time, thanks ! anyway amazing playing as always

  • Awesome as usual!!! How many guitars tracks did you record there?

  • sick patch!

  • 1:49 = best part of the vocals
