Stevie Ray Vaughn was the man. To quote BB King "he's the best there ever was, the best there ever will be". Now take that for what's it's worth. Everything is subjective.
This version flat out kicks ASS!!! That riff he does at the 1:47 mark just blows my mind. Strats forever.
god, i have been playin guitar for almost 9 years now,(im 16) and nstevie has been my influence ven when i got into metal(2months LOL) and when i got into MGMT(still am) but im stuck with the blues! and no matter how fast you play, its the soul and the way you put feeling into music and... i wish i could play like/with stevie!!
I haven't ever heard anything like this! Not even from SRV! This is something so fucking rough, tight, amazing blues that my mind just literally dies! Plain and simple, DIES.
Only Stevie could take a nursery ryhme and make it bad ass, in my opinion there is 3 guitarist that could be argued #1 (Stevie, Jimi, and Eric Clapton). SRV you will forever be missed

wee need your help to destroy this modern autotune bullshit that had curroped the earth paste this to other band like rolling stones, the doors, metallica;hendrix, led zeplain, guns n roses.
fuggin absolutely amazing that he can take such a basic joke of a song and turn it into solid gold with an amazing amount of soul. omg this man is a king!!!
I know this is a old argument, but I'll take SRV over Hendrix, SRV has a cleaner style. Little wing, both great versions, but SRV is . . . well better. just my 2 cents though
They are my two biggest inspirations. I think Hendrix deserves the credit though.I mean without Hendrix there would be no SRV, SRV would be the first to admit that. Like I say though, these two are the best!
He was obsessed with Hendrix. He even thought one night that Jimi's spirit entered him and that he was possesed by Not trying to argue though man, I just love the both of them, and I thank god that he gave us both of them!
I totally agree with both of you!!!!!...im just saying without the backup musicians there is no band at all. But indeed, SRV was no doubt up there with Jimi Hendrix and Randy Rhoads........legendary.
Man i remember this concert (i was there!) like it is a fresh memory, It was so freakin awesome! he played the blues very well! i remember the koncert back at 1982! he played awesome there aswell but i was ashamed that there were people that was actually booing at him, but he didnt care and just kept playing! RIP SRV! you will be missed!
that drummer is boring. like he wishes he was someplace else. anyway its amazing how srv can turn a childs rhyme into an awesome song like this one. just wish i had his talents.

SRV was a huge fan of Jimmy Hendrix, hence the guitar and similar guitar style
