You do know there is more than one way to play a song on the guitar right? Maybe they have a different tuning then you do or feel comfortable playing it a different way. You can hit the same note on one fret that you can on 8 other frets. It all depends on how you feel comfortable.

what i love most about protest the hero is that they are so melodically complex and brilliant without losing their edge. a lot of modern metal bands through melody out the window and tune their guitars down to dropped C, use a lot of double bass, and scream. This is one band that screams, uses double bass, use drop tunings and are melodically brilliant.
