  • Some people/salons place the individuals underneath the lash line...what are your thoughts on that?

  • Your so cute!!!

  • wonderful vid,, thank you so much for making this...i am wondering about how long these are supposed to stay on for? I havent seen any info on that topic on any of the vids out here..i do have the dura lash kit..just wondering how long before these fall off, ect.. most of the vids are saying we should remove them each night, but on the box itself it says they last 4-5 weeks! and how much difference if we put the mascara on for how long they last?

  • do i need to use the eyelash adhesive for individual eyelashes? a friend has told me that individual eyelashes should be glued at the root of my real lashes...

  • and also maybe do it with applying makeup with the lashes or applying makeup before or after.. a whole makeup look with these lashes..

  • you should do an updated video on this since this quality isnt as good as your newer vids.. maybe up closer to ur eye so we can see what ur doing better =]

  • pretty eye color!

  • can you reuse individual lashes?

  • can you put individual lashes on your bottom lashes, just like how you would put on your top lashes? And is it the same procedure?

  • for removal, i put some baby oil on a Q tip n dab at the lash line. It's safer so u don't pull any of ur own lashes out.

  • I just bought the ardell lash starter kit (GREAT vaule). It comes with the combo pack as well as the adhesive and remover. and a pair of tweezers. If you follow the directions for it however, it says to apply the lashes onto your own, not on your lid. Is this because of the kind of glue your using?

  • @haileyharley

You can do either...but really you want to get the lashes on the lashline... if its more on the lid or lash depends on what you prefer

  • Where can I buy the false eyelashes made of natural hair ?

  • I dont recomend pulling your eyelashes...I rub baby oil on them first and then remove. Most people are too harsh when removing and that causes your eyelashes to come off with your faux lashes. Idk However, I love your vids!

  • that was the best i've seen so far, good Job!

  • would u recommend curling and applying mascara before applyiing false individual eyelashes? thanks

  • Thank you for posting this tutorial. It is always great to get advice from a professional, especially watching them perform the technique as I will!

I am curious though, what is the difference between individual lashes and lash extensions? is it simply a matter of the glue, or is there a difference in apllication, as well?

  • YOU ARE THE BEST!!! I watched like a bunch of other videos but none of them are as good as you!!!

  • Koren, can you do a video on how to completely remove mascara? I have a hard time removing wipes with makeup removers/wipes. Thanks for all u do;)

  • Hi Koren, first I want to say this is the most informative demo on here for this lesson, thank you sooo much. Im new at this and with my first experience, I had my friend close her eyes until the glue dried, but when she tried to open, her eye got stuck togher!! Also, I find that a gel liner works great to cover the "knots" but it came out bumpy so Im ALSO wondering, should I do eyeliner BEFORE?

  • Yeah, I wonder if I can use a gel eyeliner too, because I am much better at using a gel eyeliner than using a liquid one.

  • yeah line as close to your natural lashes as you can BEFORE applying

    then put on your falsies.

then maybe re-line your lash line, just to blend it all in. you might use a powder in the same colour as your liner to avoid getting bumpy (you will end up slightly smoking out your upper line)

  • hey koren. I have the ardell flares and ardell glue. Do you reccomend putting on my MAC fluidline gel liner first and then the lashes or the other way around? coz im not sure of the glue will stick to the gel liner or not.

  • I have got a permant clear glue from ardell, and a spezial remover, but with this glue it should set for maybe a week,do I have to through the false lashes away after using with the permanent glue?Or can I use them again? And can I curl my lashes before using the lashes, because my natural lashes are going down :)

  • yeah individual lashes gets ratty after first use, so most of the time their un-re-useable. Thats why they come many in a pack so you can throw once used, then use new ones.

  • is there anyway that you can maybe layer or add more for a more dramatic look? i like the dramatic look so i buy band lashes, but i having to cover the band with eyeliner every time, so can you do that without it looking weird?

  • you can add as much as you want until you get the look you want to achieve.

  • Thank you for the tutorial! love it! I see that some of the false lashes come 'knotted' or 'knot free' which one is better?

  • Knot free looks more natural - hard to find tho.

  • i love you, thanks for the tips

  • ur cool

  • where can i find the duo adhesive? i have seen more than one person on you tube use this.

  • they carry it at Sallys Beauty supply if there is one where you live, and you can probably find it on-line. I don't know if CVS or Walgreens carries it. You can always try Eve Pearls black lash glue. I just ordered some and can't wait until it arrives. =D Bye-Bye, shiny, clear glue!!!

  • for newbies out there. Don't use the clear glue like I did (ardell, I think)that requires the clear, liquid glue remover. I burned the crap out of my eyes trying to get the lashes off. I swore individuals off after that until I saw this. So I am gonna try this glue instead. Thanks Koren.

  • Thanks! : )

  • hi, i wear contact and i was wondering is it still face to wear fake lashes with contacts on?

  • safe* sorry not face tee hee

  • yupp i wear contacts too & it's safe haha

  • once u put the fake eye lashes on can u then put liquid eyeliner ontop of it?

  • wow! u made that look so easy! can u use re-use the lashes after u take them off? i also would like to see u do the underlash.

  • theyre usually pretty ratted looking after the first use, that why they pack these a lot in one pack.

  • Wow!! thank you. please teach how to put the falsh on underlash

  • this is very awsome.. it is something i always wanted to try but didnt know how... thanks

  • great great tutorial! you are such a genius! thanks so much, this is a big help!

  • hey great video..but ive got a question

does individual eye lashes harm ur real eye lashes?

  • no it doesnt. Just be careful when removing, that you dont pull the real ones.

  • Ooops I forgot my question ^_^

Which individual lashes are more suitable for me? Are there any, that are straight 1cm and then curves?

  • just check out the SHORT ones. depending on brands, some are shorter than anothers.

  • Hi!My own lashes are about 1-1.2 cm. they are not curved =(

I want individual lashing, but Iam confused about lenght..I dont want false lashes peeking under my own..

  • I'm not entirely sure but does the false lash touch the eyelid or does it just sit on the real eyelash?

  • the root/base should be glued to the lid just above the lash line. Once set, it should look like its sitting along and blend in with the real lashes.

  • Hey chicke!! i usually get them from trademe. Just do a search for lashes or you can have a go at finding the member 'celebritylash' and save them as a favourite seller. Otherwise im pretty sure most pharmacies will have them. I actually have a lash extension kit which i brought from trademe but found that using the flares (which were included in the kit) was a much better choice because of the minimal amount of time and effort put into it. cheers!! i hope this helps...

  • that was awesome, i have the ardell combo pack and only usually use the long for the outer corners of my eye, but i think ill have a go at doing the whole eye for a more dramatic look. I also love the tip about using the finger for your mascara application. i never thought of that....great vid!! have a great day from NZ!!

  • hey!!! im a kiwi chick too and was wondering where you got your lashes from cheers!!

  • WOW great video! I have heard of folks using the individual eyelashes and saying that they stay on for about a month...is this possible with the ones that you used? or do they have to be taked off every time I wash my face?

  • its the glue -- there are extended formulation glue available for individual lashes, and some uses those glue that is used in professional lash extensions.

  • Thanx so much for this video :) I tried applying individual lashes by myself before and I had a hell of a time :( ended up running out of time too so I had to pull them all out. My natural lashes are quite long and I find that they get in the way. Do you think its better to close my eye when applying them because of this?

  • You add them above your natural lashes right? Some folks do it under..Is that bad?...Also, adding mascara before lashes is fine? I don't really like the clumpy feeling of mascara on fake lashes...

  • nor do i. i usually do the lashes first, because later when i wash the mascara off i can sometimes salvage the lash and i dont have to reglue the next day

  • do you prefer individual or strip lashes?

  • koren have you ever reused your indivisual lashes> i am noctorious for reusing my strip lashes until they can no longer be reused..but i have never reused my indies and those are the ones that cost the most..i was wondering if they could even be reused.

  • yeah by the time you wear them and take them off theyre pretty much ratty - I never reused them because of that

  • but when i try to pull my individual lashes out when they are completely dry it hurts and then my eye became swollen.... it felt like i was pulling out my real lashes with the fake one....

and i'll like to know can u reuse false eyelashes?

  • you can use a q-tip and a little olive oil and just swipe some oil in where the lashes are, leave it for about 1 minute, then pull the false ones off. The oil will soften the glue and it will be less painful to remove. You will have better luck reusing strip lashes than the individual ones.

  • is it harmful to wear fake eyelashes everyday? will it ruin your natural lashes?

  • nah - it wont ruin your natural lashes, just be careful when removing, to remove just the false ones.

  • Oh my gosh thank you so much for this! I acutally pulled out a few of my lashes due to irritation & my lashes are really long & thick so the bare spot was noticable right? I got a fulls set of lashes & I hated them. The lashline looked so fake. After watching this I'm going to try the individuals. You make it look so easy! Thanks again.

  • I really liked the tips and the fact that you addressed the removal of the lashes. No other video that i have watched has so yours is the best by far

  • thanks so much! this helped alot!

    keep them coming !=]

  • Wow thanks so much this is such a helpful video!! I have some individuals just sitting oin a box, i'm going to try them for tomorrow night. Thanks so much!!!

  • i have the student ardell lashes with the combo pack in brown and black but i am afraid to use the glue it says its permanet and that it can cause natural lashes to shed do you recommend it?

  • hey Nolos - nah I try to avoid using those, it can be a bit abbrasive. So just use regular lash glue.

  • Can you re-use individuals?

  • just wondering, can you re-use the lashes?

btw, love your videos, they always help me out with my make-up looks=)

  • this is great!! thank you

  • Wow! Very Helpful!

  • omg i love you, those r da best tips i've seen,ty. but how do i remove them if they got realy blended w/ my real ones and da mascara?

  • hey hotesthela - you have to look closely at the base of the lshes. The faux ones have a thick dot-like base. your Real ones doesnt.

  • love it thank you...

  • Love your tutorial! I just bought some Ardell's the other day and found it so easy to do..

  • i was thinking about picking up some half lashes...would you recommend them??

  • yes, I love half-lashes. they give that nice subtle soft look, specially i fyou just want more body to the outer lashes. definitely check those out.

  • excellent tutorial!

  • Hi Koren, this was really helpful. I have a few questions tho...

    1) How long can you wear these for? (a few days..a week?)

    2) I am Asian and have naturally thin lashes that do NOT curl. Would putting these on look too unnatural for me? If so how could I make it more natural?

    Thanks!!

  • hey dance - 1. average is about a week, using the glue thats designed for longwear lashes. 2) definitely give these a try and see how it looks on ya. You might like the look.

  • Thankyou Encore your vids are so helpful, i used to wear strip lashes but i find that dont look so natural and the lashes can end up tacky and dont always seem to want to stick on me, now i am wearing individual lashes and they look so much better.

  • Hi! How do I remove the mascara off my false lashes?

  • I have a video on Cleaning Faux lashes that might help ya - just look it up in my vids list.

  • Thank you so much! Now i can actually use the individual lashes i bought a while ago. I was wondering if there was a specific mascara that you recommend on using when wearing false eyelashes?

  • hey Eri - you can use pretty much any mascara you like.

  • Thanks for this video, now i feel more confident about using my individual lashes i purchased! You made the application look quite simple! And its better than paying someone $30 to put them on for you! Thanks so much for this video!

  • Hello darling! I was wondering where you can purchase the Duo Adhesive surgical glue? Is it a drugstore find?

Also what brand glue do you recommend is the best and longest lasting for strip lashes? Thank you and God bless ;)

  • hey deenz - I have seen duo surgical adhesive at drugstores. You can also find these at MAC and Sally's Beauty and Im sure most beauty supple stores. For longest lasting glue, definitely look for glue designed for individual lashes that are meant to be worn for a week. Duo and Ardell both make that kind of glue.

  • THANK YOU!!!! I just bought some individual flares and I am ready to try...do you like flares or spikes better?

  • I like combining both for a more natural effect.

  • hey! ive always used the regular eyelashes and always wondered how to use individual eyelashes and after stumbling upon your video i was inspired to try them out! only probably was i went to walgreens and longs drugs but all i saw were the packs with only one length which made me REALLY sad.. so my question is where can you purcahse those combo packs?

  • hey jelle - you can get the combo packs from most beauty supply stores like SALLYs.

  • I have used the ardell LashTite Adhesive with the individual lashes, it last for up to 6 weeks! Its really strong! u have to use Ardell Lashfree Remover to take them off or it will hurt and rip off ur real lashes. I dont like individuals as much as a band of lashes, just because the band looks much better to me.

  • I really enjoyed your video. I to use the same lashes however I use a different glue. With your expereience, which glue do you like for those that want LONG lasting lashes, meaning they want them to stay for weeks? Also, isnt it better to remove them glue remover so people dont pull them off themselves? Just curious. Great video though

  • i havent seen glue that lasts for weeks, the best is made by ardell, but even that is only recommended to use for a week, then replace the lashes.

  • that was great

  • are false eyelashes reusable? cause most of them aren't cheap...

  • yes they are - the strip lashes can be cleaned. I have a video on doing that if you havent watched it. Hope it helps.

  • are the individuals one reusable too? love your video btw :)

  • if youre careful with it, sure, but most of the time, by the time you remove them, they are a little ratty looking.

  • thanks enkore! i watched that vid after this. i was just a dork and asked a question before watching the rest of your vids. i really appreciate you takin the time out of your busy life to answer my questions and everyone elses! thanks for all the great tips and responses!!!

  • you make it look sooo easy but I'm glad you did this video...Now I have to practice

  • yeah, definitely practice with make it a breeze. :)

  • You are absolutely awesome. The best tutorial overall about false eyelashes! I understood your technique so much better than the other "well known" tutorials.

  • Wow, you're awesome! I just discovered you a few days ago. You should be getting paid for this (but I'm glad it's free)!

  • Thank you so much for this video!

I bought a pack that only has one length of eyelashes. Should I trim them to get the different lengths or will it look OK all being one length? Thanks!

  • he innocent - try them on first and see what they look like without cutting. You might just want to add them on the end and the middle - try different ways and which one looks the best for you.

  • OMG, amazing. Thanks so much..... I was going CRAZY trying to get these on. Honestly, an amazing how to video!!!!

  • its much more difficult 2 do left eye

  • greatest lash applying video i've seen. i will definitely use those tips for my wedding!

  • can i also apply magic lash after everything is set up for a more dramatic effect?

  • sure you can - definitely add more volume or lenght.

  • really?! wow! I'm so excited to try this out. But im not really good on putting them on.=( Do you have any tips? =) btw what brand was the eyelash you used?

  • it takes a little practice, but just use a real good gripping tweezer. I use Ardell brand lashes.

  • i have some of these lashes and im scared to use them i got the glue that was said to be for the individual one and that you need to remover to getthem off if i use this more perminate glue can i stilluse strip lashes ?

  • well if its going to be hard to get it off, that might be an issue. But sure, you can use strip lashes.

  • why do some glue them onto their ACTUAL lashes instead of just near the skin? Is it advisable?

  • hey petrina - it is not advisable to glue this on to the hairs, as it will be harder to take off. For lash extensions, individuals are permanently glued to the existing lashes, until those lashes shed in about 60 days, more of less.

  • how long can you wear them? for a few days?

  • yes, they are designed for extended use. Years ago, people wear these continously for at least a week.

  • Thanks

  • hi love your videos, when you mentioned to place the eyelash in the middle, did you mean to first place the eyelash ON the middle of your eyelashes? And then move them upward towards the lashline? Or am I supposed to place them directly on my eyelid and move them downward to my lash line? thanks!

  • it should be placed just above the real lashes on the lid. I said middle, as in center, as opposed to starting from the outer corner or inside corner first like most do.

  • seriously! you need your own show. your amazing

  • Thanks to your vid, I now have the confidence to apply individual lashes. I tried it for the first time to go out last night and it was perfect. It looks so much more natural than strips - like I did "something" but not necessarily falsies. Thanks once again for all your truly useful tips.

  • Thanks so much for this tut- I've had my individual MAC lashes for a while and they always look funky on me.. now I know how! Thanks Koren :)

  • This video was good. One thing though - you try getting these lashes off - once its dried - its hell. Unless of course you used a different type of glue? non permanent one - not sure..

Anyway I like the demo - its the best I've seen so far and very clear.

  • hey winiver - yeah, I refrain from using the longwear permanent glue - Just use regular lash adhesive.

  • You have the most beautiful brown eyes I've seen on a guy. Major thanks for the tutorial, it looks so natural. Gotta try this out.

  • this video really helped me out a lot. :) however, i was wondering what else i can do with false individual eyelashes to make my eyelashes appear thicker. asian people generally don't tend to have much volume or length. i like the length my natural eyelashes are with mascara, i just wish i knew the trick to make them THICKER!! thank you!

  • hey Jaimie - try applying the falsies in 2 rows really close almost on top of each other but offset of each other. Use lash primer tooas it will thicken your lashes first, then apply 2 coats of mascara for more volume.

  • I used permanent adhesive with individual false lashes once, and I adhered some on my left eye to the skin. I couldn't find any eyelash glue solvent at any convenience store, so I basically ended up having to tear out a ton of my real eyelashes to get the suckers off bc I was getting a stye! From now I'll use non-permanent glue!

  • yay. for lashes and I can totally see the video now :)

  • Your video shows up as a related video at the end of my birthday photo vid. And the third picture of you is hilarious!!!!

I watched this video yesterday, but I don't know if I commented. I'm glad you did this video too, because I get so many questions on lashes, but don't get time to demonstrate how to use them. So I can direct people to you!

  • sweet :> i love ur eye colour :>

  • Very nice vid. Now the question is....How can we cleans those up and care for the individual eyelashes, huh? =) Another vid. maybe =)

  • You dont, yourll find that these are a little gross to re-use. Unlike strip lashes.

  • Awesome! Those babies look so natural!

  • awsome I learn soooo much from you!

  • Oh, Koren, I posted the wrong comment previously (I was supposed to post it in Pursebuzz's video, LOL!) I have two windows open, this is why I had such mistake! Sorry!

To you Koren, I just wanted to thank you for this great video. I love individual eyelashes! This is the best video I have seen so far, with clear explanations on how to use these! Thanks Koren:)

  • Thanks a million for this great, honest review. I spend a lot of money trying new mascaras all the time (and lots of brands seem to come up with fancy, inventive names so that we can spend lots of money in them!,(especially L'Oreal, I guess a marketing strategy!).

Considering the great skill you used in this video when you applied the mascara, the results were poor. Thanks for showing us!

  • Finally! I've been looking for a tut on individual lashes forever!! This is brilliant :) thanks!

One question though: how long will those stay on if I don't take them off myself using remover? Will they withstand showering, etc.?

  • You will need adhesives thats designed for longwear.

  • thank you so much !

  • Thanks, very helpful.

  • hey enkore! thanks so much for the video! i think these lashes look so natural! i was wondering, will the individual lashes work on people with short lashes? (and i mean short..)

  • the trick is really making sure to blend the fake ones with your short real ones.

  • so sorry for double posting! my computer froze on me and i thought the first one didn't go through =)

  • thanks for the video enkore! these lashes look so natural. i was wondering if this would work on people with really short lashes? (i mean really, really, short!)

  • Sure it will -- combine diferent lenghts for more natural look. But probably mostly shorts if you dont want a drastic difference.

  • thanks so much for this video. one question-how far apart are you applying one lash from another lash??

  • I just kinda eye-ball it. If I want it fuller and thicker I do them close, if I want just subtle, I use about 6 - 7 pcs.

  • Ty for this, some very useful tips!

  • Do you know of a hypo-allergenic eyelash glue? I find that I have a reaction to the typical adhesive.

  • hey mrscewood - GO GIRL makes hypoallergenic eye lash glue that is ideal for sensitive eyes. Look it up. I hope that works for you.

  • Thanks! I'll try it and let you know how it works.

  • You are the best. You are a natural teacher. I love the way you explain things really well. You're my favorite make-up artist on YouTube! :)

  • I LOOOOOVE individual lashes! I like to do this when I am doing a "natural" look but it adds some drama. Great video, as always.

  • I love you Koren! Thanks for the tips!!!

  • can you just curl your individual lashes instead of using mascara, so that it lasts longer?

  • sure - do it carefully so that it doest tug the false lash off.

  • I can tell your a good person - when you smile, your eyes shine and sparkle

  • individual lashes look so much more natural than the full lash band..can you use them again though?

  • Sure - if they still look decent enough for a second use. If they look ratty, or gunky from mascara, just ditch it.

  • what's the difference between the duo eyelash glue and the duo surgical adhesive?..which one's better?..i got the surgical one from mac.

  • hey Mandi -- I find the surgical glue sticking better and lasting longer.

  • thanks!! :)

  • It is definitely a good idea to wait until the glue is tacky/almost dry before applying the false lashes to the eye. The last two times I put on falsies, I tried to do it really quickly (because individuals take a long time anyway) I kept glueing my eye shut!

  • Arh. My Eyelashes are So Stuoidly short.

Would I Be Able To curl My Eyelashes Before Applying The false Ones? Because I Really doubt It Will 'Blend' It'll just Point downwards.... x

  • hey custard - yesh You can curl it first. Thats one thing I like about individuals vs. strips. The strips are harder to apply with curled lashes. The indivs are easier.

  • I've always wondered how to put on individual lashes. Thanks for sharing this! :)

  • awesome!

  • Your eye color is so gorgeous! My mom was just asking me over the weekend about false eyelashes and if I'd ever applied them. I did for my engagement pics. It was so hot that day, getting them off was a snap! My cousin got eyelash extensions applied and they lasted for 2 weeks, is that glue different, or how do those last longer? Thx!

  • hey Laurel - yeah there are glue avail for extended wear.

  • my right eye lash hairs are wild how can I tame them and how would I be able to apply false lashes to my right eye?

  • hey trsmith - not sure what you mean by wild. Could you just explain a bit?
