Karen is awesome!! I just got the In The Heights soundtrack about a week ago, (I know, I'm late :)) and loved whoever was playing Vanessa, and finally found out. She's one of my favorite actress/singers now! :)

karen was an understudy for Mimi and Maureen in RENT on Broadway for something like 2 1/2 years.

before that, she u/s on the tour and played Mimi for a while. this is her when she was an u/s and went on as Maureen with Danielle Lee Greaves.

her voice has improved a TON since those days.

The new "Boy Like That" is sung in Spanish. Spanish has been added to much of the dialogue between the PR characters. I think that is so cool.

I wish I could've seen her Maureen! Karen is an incredibly talented women, thankfully I was able to see her as Vanessa in In The Heights and Anita in West Side Story! She is probably my favorite performer!
