We tried to retire in Victoria but we only lasted two years. The beaches were dirty and the ocean was cold. There were many street people, the people we knew had no meaningful employment, and winters were wet and cold. We found that people were always telling lies, living a life of denial. The trip across to Vancover for the day was about $110. Homes were rediculously over priced, and the city was dumping 100% of all human waste directly into the ocean. Nice place to visit, but ...
@canadastreetmedia Wow, how is anybody supposed to take you seriously when you cannot speak proper English? Please keep your crazy ramblings to yourself because nobody is interested.
@twinkle88ify Actually, I lived here for 9 years. 2nd highest crime rate because shitty no life cops arrest and fine teenagers every weekend for pointless reasons. that isn't even a true fact anyways.

It looks like geoengineering is taking place in the sky there even though it is being officially denied. Look at those chemtrails. Since they became obvious in New Zealand, we have had very bad droughts. I wonder what it is doing to the weather there?
@WebOfEvidence Disasterous things. The temperature is very erratic and seems to have decreased significantly - perhaps freezing cold North Wind makes it seem much worse. This Spring we had soil so wet they couldn't put in the grain crops in Saskatchewan, Canada (or Russia) and this Fall in some lower mainland areas we couldn't harvest some of our crops. Obviously they aren't engineering the weather with our common good, the good of all living things or the good of our air, water & crops in mind.
One of the most beautiful places to live. I moved here in 1998 and ever since the year 2000 I have been unable to enjoy this beautiful city because of chemtrail poisoning which has caused non-stop suffering. Morgellons/chemtrail poisoning kills, disables and destroys families. Help save Victoria BC Canada from chemtrails.
If you want to see what they AREN'T showing you have a look at the sky in any of my black chemtrail videos and see what it's like here 90 - 95% of the time and/or see what will happen to you 90 - 95% of the time if you're unfortunate enough to have an auto or work related accident and sustain significant injuries and insurance interests.
If you intend to come here that is fine, just bring your gas masks!!!

It is sad that the City of Victoria dumps millions of liters of human waste into the Juan De Fuca straight every day. No wonder the whale count is down.
Never been out west to bc or victoria.might have to see it one day take a CN rail train from kitchener ontario to toronto to out west. It'll be a fun adventure
My Canadian relatives live here & when i visited 30 years ago, i had a wonderful time catching up with Mum`s side of the family who lve right near the Harbour.
I had the privilage of having a tour around the Parliament building which my Cousin works in.
Great times!
(I think i am due another visit - That`s for sure!"
i visited Victoria for two days and i wish i never left..you could actually feel culture, and the waters and the architecture are amazing, its got everything i need mmm. i wont even consider buying a car, i'd just walk or ride a bicycle.. its sooo freakin nice there <3
Gordon Campbell and his gang have destroyed BC and I am not sure it will ever recover fully. BC had so much potential but Campbell betrayed the working middle class and the poor in the belief that by giving all control to the wealthy, they would be benevolent and kind. History has proven that the wealthy rarely have those qualities. The robber barons have taken all the wealth and have left British Columbia's with nothing except debt and suffering.
Ya, because Glen Clarke and Bill Vander Zalm were so much better - Go complain to your union, NDPer.
Funny how BC has grown the most economically in its history under Campbell, you have seen expansive growth both residentially and commerically under the Liberals. Historically the left in BC have had this sense of entitlement. Well, that's done now. Work, evolve and prosper or go away. Stop the handouts to the homeless. All they do is shoot up (on my dollar) and ask for me to support them.
My mom has a subscription to macleans. A few months ago I saw an issue naming Victoria as the best place to live in Canada, and today I saw an issue placing Victoria as the smartest city in Canada. What's the dealio with this city? Is it something in then water?
Ok, I get it. Victoria is on the ocean and it has a lot of history. This video misses the mark however. Victoria is more than scenery. It is a place of festivals, nightlife, buskers roaming the streets and people at play!
Yes, it's beautiful, but it's also fun! Wake up Tourism Victoria and take another look at the place you're trying to promote.
Hi, I'm from Mexico, but i live in the USA on a permanent visa. I am considering to become a US citizen, but my brother and I have been thinking about moving to Canada, or back to Mexico. The USA has become a place of racial tensions that I've really started to dislike. Anyways, is Canada like that as well? or is Canada a more welcoming place? I've met quite a few Canadians and seemed more down to earth than the usual American. Thanks in advance for any answers.
@juanrr24 canada is a great place to live, come to british columbia! people are so friendly and racism in not a problem here.been living here for 15 years. :)
@juanrr24 Yeah Canada is fine..well at least where I live, in the metro Vancouver area..of course there are always a few bad apples ruining it for people..but in general everyone is tolerant of everyone eles, as long as you can communicate with others you'll blend right in since there are so many people of diffrent eithnic backgrounds everywhere. Heck I know a few people from Mexico myself or canadian but of mexican decent...know I guy who recently moved back to mexico to live with his family.
@juanrr24 dude.. dont come back to mexico.. move into canada you wont regret it! i went to this city victoria only 6 months, to study english and victoria is just AWESOME..canadian ppl are the most friendly you will ever met.. there you can just walk at 4am in the streets going home and nothing will happen to you, its clean, safe, beautiful, there are not just canadian ppl.. THOUSANDS of exchange students from all the world, partys, great restaurants(earls), etc no more words left, saludos
@juanrr24 umm, well I think canada is more welcoming and accepting, just, its a lot colder than mexico. MUCH colder ^__^ and mabey you should visit before deciding, your always welcome up here.

My advice to white people in North America is to reconnect with your roots in Europe because: Natives are under going a healing process and when they heal they get a control of their resources they will ship white people back to Europe in coffin ships similar to the one their ancestors came in.
I absolutely adore Victoria. I love Vancouver too. BC for me is one of the most lovely areas of the world, and is my favorite province. I Came to BC for the first time in 2002 and I felt more at home in BC than in my native country. It is a place that is now my home and I recommend it for all you visitors, and potential Canadians.
Ma? Is that you ma? I can't feel my leg! /That bridge at 2:05 is where my Aunt spit out her false teeth from laughing once. Aah, those were the days...
whatta nice place...not so much because of the architecture, restaurants shops or other irelevant things but because of the smiling truly happy faces...i worked on a cruiseship and traveled a lot and i have never felt so relaxed happy like in canada...
Yeah, one of the greatest places on earth to see the local Uni murdering baby bunnies! Boycott UVIC and write to the UVIC Administration to let them know that they are scum!
The Islands Tourist economy is going to feel it this summer as Tourism is going to be an economic impossability for many ...
Soon the realitiy of the Winter Olympics costs to Locals may Hit home ! B.C.s Political Home Base communities may realize even a lot of the locals are not coming this year... many Americans will also not be able to afford to travel as usual.
Victoria House prices are going to be falling for a while.
At the end of his life, the deadliest gunfighter of the Old West is given a choice: Hell or redemption. He chooses redemption and God's Archangel transports him to modern day Los Angeles to serve bloody, frontier justice on the worst dregs of society.
I lived in victoria for just over a year, and I miss it terribly now! It really is one of the most beautiful places in Canada...I went out for a two week vacation with my girlfriend and decided we just couldn't leave! Take any chance to visit.
I was told victoria is boring and expensive....beautiful but boring. what says you? I might apply for a job out there. how far of a ferry ride is it to get to the mainland?
@TiberiusStorm Victoria is definitely beautiful and definitely not boring! It is expensive, but less so than Vancouver (which is about an 1.5 hour ferry ride away). There is lots to do here, especially in the summer. We have great festivals, beaches, night clubs, etc. In the summer there is semi-pro baseball and in the winter semi-pro hockey. Life is good here.
@warlord6272 Oh no it hasn't. I'd say "Just ask Mr Floatie, the ocean pooh. "If you pooh in Victoria then he's from you." Actually he's a teacher now, so he's not allowed to talk about it... part of the deal when he hung up his sailor's cap. He got sewage treatment widespread attention and had quite a lot of support - he even ran for mayor, gave Alan Lowe a run for his money.
They batted around a few 'solutions' and it just kind of died off so all his/our efforts were swept away with with the...
@Normalman50 "I have never heard of them doing that, Im pretty sure it stopped" They haven't stopped pumping raw sewage into Juan De Fuca because that's all that comes out of our legislature. We couldn't get any of the politicians, public 'servants' or 'news' reporters to report on any of the volumes of days where there are extreme - fatal levels of aluminum, barium and whatever else they have decided to spray on us here in 'Beautiful British Columbia', Canada.
@HavenJude Depends where you go, but I am pretty sure that most people speak English as their main language, and even then, the French are taught English. Its more english to the west and french to the east though.
@HavenJude Actually, Warlord6272 is a bit mistaken. Language is a very political, very complicated issue Canadians have been fighting about for hundreds of years. English is the official language of most Canadian provinces, but in Quebec, French is the sole official language (although there is an old English minority there that I am a part of). In Quebec, knowledge of English is not as wide spread as you might imagine and many can not speak english, so you need to know how to speak French.
I Looove Victoria! It's brilliant, like, it's almost. . Almost like you know everybody, and everybody knows you. . Stuff can be expensive but, you get what you payed for.
I think a lot of these people posting negative comments have never lived in real cities. I grew up in victoria and now live in Sydney Australia. Victoria is experiencing the issues every growing city does (Waste management, the homeless) and I thought they did a great job of it. To me it has a very village feel, I think the detractors need to travel a little more before commenting.
It's a bit hard to compare to Sydney, its a lot slower. There is a good music/art scene, its comparable to Melbourne but with a big focus on the environment and the outdoors. I think you might like, one of things I do miss about Canada is the "racial harmony", it wasn't until I came to Sydney that I ever really noticed racial enclaves. I hope you enjoy it!
I love Victoria! I'm kinda sad that I'll be leaving here soon, Victoria is a great city. A few people have said that people here aren't very nice, but I've lived here since 2002, and I don't see that at all. I mean people here say thank you to the bus drivers a lot, that's basically a Victoria thing (and maybe Vancouver) from what I've heard.
If I had to live in any Canadian city, it would be Victoria hands down. Just because the climate is one of the best in the land. However since I already live in a beautiful place I'll stay here.

there's Victoria, get treated badly by the locals, pay stupid amount of taxes and watch them dumped hundreds of tons ofraw sewage inthe the juan de fuca strait. not to mention geting harrased by a the pan-handlers, not being able to smoke in a smoke shop and try to figure out the road system in the downtown area.
okay..... i'm from here.. i live here and i don't see how Wakamastu can even make that statement. It's gorgeous here. And i love the Scottish and British tourists both! Please.. do stay here.. move here! It is indeed great and people are generally quite frindly.. you will find some tourists to be rude....
I live here as a single mother and have no problem whatsoever surviving.... it is far better than living in stinky vancouver.. i can tell you that for a fact!

welfare will make you say anything won't they. I lived there to and have a very different take. Vancouver is much better, easier to get around, more jobs and who wants to live in the land of the newly wed or the nearly dead anyways?
Welfare doesn't even talk to me.. not sure what your talking about?? There is no way I would ever move to Vancouver, now THAT place is a dump. But if people like you prefer Vancouver, I'm happier to have you away from Victoria.
They say its the best place to live in (one off) the world . got family here who moved from Scotland Uk , they love it.... want to visit .. and see ...then maybe move form London to BC.... any one dome this already .....

It looks like geoengineering is taking place in the sky there even though it is being officially denied. Look at those chemtrails. Since they became obvious in New Zealand, we have had very bad droughts. I wonder what it is doing to the weather there?
WebOfEvidence 1 year ago

Typical PR - what a joke;

My advice to white people in North America is to reconnect with your roots in Europe because: Natives are under going a healing process and when they heal they get a control of their resources they will ship white people back to Europe in coffin ships similar to the one their ancestors came in.

@TiberiusStorm Victoria is definitely beautiful and definitely not boring! It is expensive, but less so than Vancouver (which is about an 1.5 hour ferry ride away). @warlord6272 is it mainly french or english speaking?
HavenJude 1 year ago
@HavenJude Depends where you go, but I am pretty sure that most people speak English as their main language, and even then, the French are taught English. Its more english to the west and french to the east though.
warlord6272 1 year ago
@warlord6272 Ok, Thank you (:
HavenJude 1 year ago
@HavenJude Actually, Warlord6272 is a bit mistaken. Language is a very political, very complicated issue Canadians have been fighting about for hundreds of years. English is the official language of most Canadian provinces, but in Quebec, French is the sole official language (although there is an old English minority there that I am a part of). In Quebec, knowledge of English is not as wide spread as you might imagine and many can not speak english, so you need to know how to speak French.

Hows it compare to sydney? I'm from sydney eastern areas and am looking at heading over there for like 6 months.
matthewbasa 2 years ago
It's a bit hard to compare to Sydney, its a lot slower. There is a good music/art scene, its comparable to Melbourne but with a big focus on the environment and the outdoors. I think you might like, one of things I do miss about Canada is the "racial harmony", it wasn't until I came to Sydney that I ever really noticed racial enclaves. I hope you enjoy it!
