so like on a guitar would open note be +/- on harmonica?

on guitar you can play smoke on the water like this

G---0--3---5---0---3----6---5-­---3-------

D---0--3---5---0---3----6---5-­---3-------

so on harmonica would it be like

-3 3 5 -3 3 6 5 3

or would the open note on guitar be a different note for this song like 2 on harmonica instead of -3

@MyDookieGoesKerplunk they are not related actually. -3 is a higher note than 3 so no relation with the open note what so ever. look for 2 -2

start on the 2nd fret, then to 5th fret then 7 and you will also be using the 8th fret

2,5,7, 2,5,8,7 2,5,7 5,2

(if you didnt know that already!)

@MyDookieGoesKerplunk Just learn the intervals. It goes 1-m3-4, 1-m3-5b-4, 1-m3-4-m3-1. 'm' stands for a minor interval, and if I'm not mistaken a diminished 5th is shortened to a 5b.

Nice stuff. Sounds like you have the pitch doubled an octave down and a 4th down. Is one piece of gear doing both the doubles, or how do you have them assigned?  Lightnin Rick
