It's a combination of things. The Omnivision OV9655 camera sends at a MAX of 15 fps. Add to that the latency for the blackfin core to transfer this data to the Lantronix Matchport WLAN, then wifi network latencies, then the time needed to recieve/display each frame on the g1 and it slows things down. Furthermore, to grab each frame, the g1 has to request the frames which adds even more latency.
Really nice work there =D I've been working on my robot with Arduino board and thought about using the G1 to control it (too bad it's not here yet =( ) Very inspiring video btw =]
