This video is a sham. I am not a supporter of Obama, and hope he is gone after the next election. But Michael Berry should also be gone. This video does not portray the ceremony in the slightest to the real thing. You can watch the real ceremony from other YouTube locations. I was going to comment how this video was wrong on one point (that Congress hasn't done anything - they have - they've led this country to the brink of destruction), but instead I want to say that Ssgt. Sal Giunta showed the character of many of our soldiers who are facing danger and Ssgt. Giunta and all of our soldiers deserve our respect and prayers. I'm proud of our military men and women and thank them for their selfless act in helping to keep America and other countries safe. Keep safe.

The reality is that at least President Obama awarded the medal of honor to a living soilder for the first time since Vietnam and George W. Bush would only award it to dead vets. I always suspected that Bush and past presidents were afraid to award it to living soilders for political reasons. President Obama had the guts to do it now. I don't like this video either, but I do agree that Sal Giunta is a true hero and a man of great humility. I don't like President Obama, but I concede he treated S/Sgt. Giunta and his family and comrades with respect. However, he also played it for political advantage as well. Admittedly, all politicians of both parties do that.
If you look into that SSgt's eyes you see the pain in his soul... As a Marine who was wounded on my second tour. The pain that he is going through is 10 fold of anything that I could ever compare too...I watched brothers die, I heard the cry of the wounded, No one person will ever understand the pain of war. If all the facts as presented in this audio are correct. Then I think the only explanation is that the President is really ignorant as in having no clue as to what's important to the American people. I was not there but I trust the word of a US Marine. I know the current administration does not have or know how to have the proper respect for our military. I only hope our country can survive until we can get someone in the Whitehouse that understands what it is to be the Commander in Chief!

1) SSG Giunta is a member of the Army's Special Forces. He was with a very small unit with just 3 other Americans
2) In every other instance of the MOH being awarded to alive recipient the family has always been in the front row (this goes back to WWII)
3) In every other instance of the MOH being awarded soldiers/sailors/marines/airmen from the recipient's unit have always been in the rows immediately behind the family (goes back to WWII))
The fact is that the first 2 rows were occupied completely by previous and still living Medal of Honor winners (check the collars)... and NOT other political party members. SSgt Giunta's Family was front row center with First Lady Michelle, fallen soldier's family members second and third row stage right center along with Military dignitary's. When Obama mentioned the heroes after the shootings - they never even showed their faces, all you saw was Obama clapping over and over again. I am not at all surprised that the current occupier of the Oval Office does not know how to show proper respect to a member of our military. During his speech he kept calling Sgt. Giunta "Sal", instead of "Sergeant Giunta", which is the correct way for him to address a member of our miltary, especially during an awards ceremony in which he is presenting our nation's highest honor.

Ok, this was a well done video. The Medal of Honor is a HUGE deal. This is the thing: from what I understand, the MOH is bestowed up on the person by Congress. That is the way it is supposed to be. In the finest tradition, the President is the one who presents it for Congress since he is the Commander in Chief. So, congress should have been on the stage, not the first and Second row. It has been erroniously called the Congressional MOH because of this.

Sal Giunta showed the character of many of our soldiers who are facing danger and Ssgt. Giunta and all of our soldiers deserve our respect and prayers. The reality is that at least President Obama awarded the medal of honor to a living soilder for the first time since Vietnam and George W. Bush would only award it to dead vets. I always suspected that Bush and past presidents were afraid to award it to living soilders for political reasons. President Obama had the guts to do it now. A few observations:
1) SSG Giunta is a member of the Army's Special Forces. He was with a very small unit with just 3 other Americans
2) In every other instance of the MOH being awarded to alive recipient the family has always been in the front row (this goes back to WWII)
3) In every other instance of the MOH being awarded soldiers/sailors/marines/airmen from the recipient's unit have always been in the rows immediately behind the family (goes back to WWII))

Your hatred for the president runs so deep that you have failed to see the obvious. The front row consisted of previous surviving MOH recipients and his "family". They are clearly seated in the front row. The soldiers are seated directly behind the previous MOH recipients.
When hatred runs that deep you skew the truth.
The president doesn’t define seating arrangements; there is a full staff office that does that.

I am Vietnam Combat Veteran and After listening to this individual made me sick. In my eyes, it is so unAmerican to use this occation to honor a hero to make a political statement. The story should have been only about the hero and his actions.

When Obama mentioned the heroes after the shootings - they never even showed their faces, all you saw was Obama clapping over and over again. It was a political gathering, instead of paying respect to those heroes or the persons who died and their families.

You put into video what I felt during this ceremony. I shared this video with CNN Anderson 360 and Wolf Blitzer, wonder why no one else has keep Obama honest on this. I was truly appalled by Obama's actions and the seating arrangement during this honorable time. This is a community organizer who, when awarding the Medal of Honor posthumously to a Navy corpsman, mispronounced his title as 'CORPSE-MAN' three times! This from a graduate of Harvard University and a member of the Illinois Bar.
I guess they will have to start spelling words phonetically on those infamous teleprompters which he cannot do without when addressing an audience.
He is an embarrassment to me as a veteran and an American. Hopefully he will be sent packing in Nov. 2012

I am not at all surprised that the current occupier of the Oval Office does not know how to show proper respect to a member of our military. During his speech he kept calling Sgt. Giunta "Sal", instead of "Sergeant Giunta", which is the correct way for him to address a member of our miltary, especially during an awards ceremony in which he is presenting our nation's highest honor.

"A more fitting picture for what's wrong in this country" certainly isn't a seating chart for an award recipient, but rather how we are distracted by the real issues we as country suffer from. Just a question. But since when does the president choose the seating in every event he attends? ... It was probably done by one of his aides....and he's taking the flak for it. Another example of Obama taking the flak for an action of another is the proposed Mosque in NYC. Alot of headlines blame that "muslim Obama", but...building zoning is a civic problem, not a presidential. it is a military ceremony, he is the commander in chief of the military and it reflects on him as all military actions reflect on those who lead them.
the seating chart was prepared by some subordinate officer or aide from the staff and it was manipulated by his seniors and checked thoroughly to ensure that any politician who kissed enough ass was able to sit in front, in the company of heroes.

Not to name any, but several other presidents pissed people off to the point that they attempted (as sometimes succeeded) in assassinating them. Or being Impeached, or having a national scandal... basically my point is... i wish he could have been in office during my career.
and yeah, obama hasn't been the worst president we've had.
but he's on track to destroy more freedoms than any other single person in U.S. history.
i retired from the military early in part because of him.

Ok, this was a well done video. The Medal of Honor is a HUGE deal. This is the thing: from what I understand, the MOH is bestowed up on the person by Congress. That is the way it is supposed to be. In the finest tradition, the President is the one who presents it for Congress since he is the Commander in Chief. So, congress should have been on the stage, not the first and Second row. It has been erroniously called the Congressional MOH because of this.

My goodness people, watch the complete ceremony. Obama introduces SSgt Guinta's unit and has them all stand up and tells the audience to give them a "hand" (applause)
I am no Obama supporter but this is ridiculous, there are plenty of actual things we can criticize Obama for.
